Weekly FanTalk: We Talk To ToutGirl
So often are articles written where people are getting the opinions of insiders on the business and asking them questions about what direction the business is going in and what not.
In this new weekly column we will talk to fans who made appearances on WWE or TNA TV, met wrestlers, attended live shows, or had any kind of experience related to the wrestling business.
My goal is to let the world see what other fans potentially think of WWE, TNA, or even ROH. It will let people share their experiences meeting a wrestler or appearing on TV, etc..
I will ask questions specific to the persons experience and pick their brain on the business in general. I will talk to people who had both good experiences and bad. If you have an experience you would like to share please follow me on twitter at twitter.com/exodusoPWM or add me on facebook at facebook.com/exodusoPWM
In this debut column we sit down and talk with “WWE Tout Girl” who appeared on WWE TV during the “Old School” Raw on March 4, 2013.
First of all Stephanie I want to thank you for taking the time to talk with me.
Q:First of all tell me about yourself?
A:Well, I’m Stephanie. I’m 19 years old. I’m currently a sophomore in college majoring in pharmacy. I was born and raised in Minnesota and still live there today.
Q:What was your initial reaction when you saw your tout on TV?
A:My initial reaction was just complete shock. I paused the TV and yelled downstairs to my mom to have her come watch it to make sure I wasn’t just imagining it.
Q:How long have you been a wrestling fan?
A:I started watching wrestling when I was about 10 or 11. Once I got to high school I stopped watching up until December 2012. I started back thanks to my sister, who had started watching and attending live events.
Q:Obviously you are a CM Punk fan, who else do you like?
A:I also like Dolph Ziggler, Zach Ryder, John Cena, and Cody Rhodes.
Q:Did you know prior to seeing yourself on TV that it was going to be aired?
A:I had no idea.
Q:WWE includes your twitter handle when showing your tout, how many new followers did you gain after your tout aired?
A:I gained just shy of 400 new followers. Before my Tout aired I had 30 followers and tonight I have 419.
Q:What kind of reaction did your friends have to you being on raw?
A:It was a mix of reactions. One friend admitted to being jealous and everyone else was excited about.
Q:Was this the first time you had submitted a tout during in Raw?
A:It was. When they announced on Raw that they were going to have people Tout in their answers, I immediately made an account.
Q:Have you ever attended a live WWE event?
A:I have! In Tucson, AZ in 2007. I was ringside. It was amazing.
Q:I heard that you received at least one marriage proposal? Any truth to that?
A:Yes.. More than one now. Probably around 6 or 7.
Q:Was that weird at all? How was that?
A:It was a little weird. I was taken back by the marriage offers.
Q:I worry about what kind of other proposals you must have received through twitter?
A:I have not received any really weird or inappropriate proposals. Which I find quite nice but surprising at the same time.
Q:Did wrestling fan friends, family, or acquantiances treat you any differently?
A:No one has treated me differently. And I have not been recognized in public either which some followers on Twitter find just outrageous.
Q:What do you think of WWE pushing twitter/tout?
A:I think it is a good idea. I think it helps connect the fans to the superstars and the WWE universe. It helps bring fans a piece of the action. I mean just look at me, I touted a video and now here I am being interviewed.
Q:Thoughts on current WWE storylines?
A:They are exciting. They keep fans entertained. More cruiserweight and high flyer matches would be a lot more fun to watch instead of the same huge guys knocking each other around. give us more variety, let the lesser known stars get some tv time.
A:Are Ryder and Ziggler still fighting for the internet championship? Haha Just kidding.
Q:What direction do you hope the WWE product goes in?
A:Obviously, up. They have a good product and a creative team of writers backing it up. If they keep it going, which I don’t know why they wouldn’t, they will continue to have the success they’ve been having for years.
Q:Prior to now were you a reader of PWMania.com?
A:I have not been a reader.
Q:I hope you and your friends will be from now on?
A:I definitely will read it from now on.
