Smackdown was on Tuesday night hence the reason I have posted a second time this week and because well it’s Christmas Eve on Friday, so why have anything broadcast at that time, no one will watch it, right? I think I will be watching A Christmas Story on TBS-a 24 hour marathon of the classic movie. But I digress, the show started off with of all wrestlers, Orton and Miz. Not that I will complain, but aren’t they part of Raw?? Odd….it was another match where Riley interfered so Orton won, but by disqualification. Look, I’m all for Miz having the belt and all, but this interference thing with Riley or Cole or whomever it is they want to interfere in the match, bottom line it is getting a bit old. I would love to see Miz start to win clean against his opponents. He is a good enough wrestler to win matches fairly, or at least without outside help. Get the ref distracted by accusing the opponent of having a foreign object in his tights or something. When the ref isn’t looking pull something out of his tights and knock the sucker out. At least then, he wins, without the help of Alex Riley. Who I might add probably won’t have much of a career when he is done being Miz’s “butt” buddy. There ya go, I just booked that match a little differently than what was shown. And a word to Michael Cole, I would swear you are the gay for the Miz….not that there is anything wrong with that mind you. But Geez, he needs to reel it in a bit, don’t ya think?

Santa Show and Hornswoggle…..ughh…I can’t even talk about that one…..Santino has a match against an underutilized Chavo. Instead of having wasted our time with Show and Hornswoggle, they could have stretched this match out longer cause it wasn’t really all that bad. But in the end we see the Cobra come out and Santino wins the match. Do you think we are already going to see Kozlov and Marella split because of jealousy between the two with the Beth Phoenix kiss?? It would follow a pattern that rings true with the WWE. The team gets the title, the team loses the title, the team breaks up, never to be a team again and feud over something stupid. So will there be a match down the line between Kozlov and Beth Phoenix vs. Santino and Tamina? And to the winners the tag team championship? Yes I know it would be a mixed tag team as champs, but it would be something different, think about it….Would it happen at Wrestlemania?? Weirder things have happened….

What in the world is going on with Kaval anyways? I am still waiting for the guy to win a match. I thought he would be getting a better push than this. This latest damn match against McIntyre didn’t last very long either. I still hold my opinion of him, which isn’t saying much I haven’t been impressed with him since he won NXT. Maybe it’s because he is wrestling injured and he can’t do much, I don’t know, but right now, he ain’t doing it for me.

The match with Del Rio teaming up with Swagger going against Mysterio and Kingston was a pretty good one. Lots of back and forth action and even though if it was a real wrestling match, I know Swagger would have been able to pin Mysterio within seconds of that bear hug, but this is wrestling entertainment, so our belief has to be suspended. Del Rio is really showing me something with his feud with Mysterio as well. I still find it hard to believe that he isn’t the King of the Ring, but that point is for another time. The action was well maintained but in the end, the good guys win the match. You can’t have everything you ask for for Christmas I suppose.

And then we come to the second match between Ziggler and Cena…..Monday’s match was good, but I really would have liked to have seen Ziggler win the damn thing, even if it was by DQ. The same holds true for this match. But Cena is the cash cow of the company, as Hogan once was, so there isn’t really anyway he would lose to Ziggler, even though he is the IC champion. I thought at one time holding that belt was an honor and full of prestige. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Oh well, whatcha gonna do. I suppose this was just a set-up so that they can start a program between Cena and Punk which could be a good thing for both performers. I had thought Punk was out indefinitely, guess I was wrong. I’m sure this whole thing will culminate in a match at Wrestlemania between the two. So be it. Punk has shown us he can put on a hell of a match and he is a former Heavyweight Champ to boot. Let him keep messing with Cena and really draw it out to make him more of a heel then he already is. I actually want to see this one because of Punk, not because of Cena. I would really love to see Punk beat Cean, clean. Only time will tell.

I can’t really say much about what happened between Edge and Kane because I have a feeling they might have one more re-match between the two and then drop the storyline. Who will they have go against Edge after that you ask? Alberto Del Rio……let the e-mails and comments commence. I will say why I believe this once I see how they will take care of a few things over the holidays. This is unless they turn Edge heel again and then that whole idea will be thrown out the window. Then it might come down to a feud with the Big Slow…no that’s not a typo…. in closing, I want to wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!
