Winters’ Storm-TNA: The Travesty
May I have your attention please……
Just saw what happened on the main event from the TNA PPV and I have to say that Sting looked legit pissed at Jeff Hardy. And looking at Jeff’s eyes and his actions going into the ring, it looked like something was wrong with the man. So what would you do if you were Sting? Would you have done exactly what he did? It looked to me as if when he went for the pin he put all his weight on Hardy so he couldn’t get out of the move. Jeff looked miffed after the pin and Sting didn’t look too happy either after the match. Even though we don’t really know what in the world was going on backstage, you have to think it wasn’t anything good on Hardy’s part. He’s a train wreck. He needs help. It isn’t helping TNA to keep him around in this capacity. If they do keep him around, they need him to job out until he gets his s@#t together. It would serve him right. I’m glad Sting did as he did, he old schooled Hardy. He didn’t take crap and showed him the hard way how things are when you mess with his way of life. If anyone should be reprimanded, it’s Jeff Hardy and not Sting. Although if you look at the ref and the count, maybe it was planned all along without Jeff’s knowledge. But if Sting has to lose the belt for what he did to Hardy and it wasn’t planned, it’s a travesty of justice and he should up and leave the TNA forever. This train is beginning to derail real fast and I would hate to have Sting be on the train when it comes off the tracks and crashes. He is too much of an icon to go out like this. Since Hogan and Bitchoff came on the scene, TNA has sucked (I gave them a chance at first because Hogan even said it would be about the young guys, well that disappeared real fast). I thought it would have improved over time, but they are doing exactly as they did in the WCW, letting it go down the tubes. Nash did the right thing by getting out when he had the chance.
Now onto Raw…..
It was great seeing good ole JR on Monday for sure. It’s too bad he had to get owned by Jack Swagger and then Michael Cole. That was another travesty. It was a waste of a one night come back for the guy. He is the voice of Monday Night Raw, no matter what Vince seems to think of the guy. I was hoping Stone Cold would have come out to make the save, but that didn’t happen. Ya gotta admit though, this is sure making the match between Cole and Lawler a must see and making Cole a very hated man by the fans. Speaking of Lawler, his son Brian(formerly Grand Master Sexay) Christoper (Lawler) came down and said he wasn’t proud of Jerry either. He berated his father for not being there and pretty much being a dead beat. He pushed Jerry hoping to get a rise out of him, but Jerry never got out of his chair, that is until Swagger cracked him one in the head and took him out while JR was in the ring after Brian left the scene. This is shaping up to be a pretty darn good storyline in my eyes, even though Cole isn’t even a wrestler. You can probably bet that Jerry will win the match at WM because of all the crap he is being put through. Well, we can only hope that will be the outcome.
King Sheamus was able to beat Daniel Bryan to become the next United States Champion. It seems whenever a wrestler says if he doesn’t win a title, he will quit the federation. Well, unless his contract is up, they have him leave for awhile, repackage him then he goes to the other brand that he wasn’t on before. I was thinking that’s what was going to happen to Sheamus, but alas it didn’t. He and Bryan had a pretty dam good match in my eyes. The kick to Sheamus’s skull by Bryan looked pretty stiff and I figured that was the end of the match. Well, it wasn’t. Instead, Bryan goes to the top rope and while in mid flight Sheamus boots him in the chest and pins him. That move looked painful for Bryan to receive as well. I’m hoping this isn’t the end of the feud between these two. It would be great to see them at Wrestlemania go at it for title. They are both great wrestlers, even though some in the back have had no clue what to do with these guys. Maybe this is the turn-around they both needed.
The Miz was on the top of his game this week, especially when he came out looking like the Rock at the end of the show. The match between him and Khali was just one to put him over as a major heel and the beat down with the chair didn’t hurt either. That brings me to my love of seeing Cena getting his ass kicked week in and week out by Miz. I love this guy as the champ. My feeling though is at WM, the Rock might just get involved in the match. Unless of course if they make it a triple threat match between all of them. Then what could happen is Rock wins, goes to Raw and retires the belt and they have a tournament the ensuing weeks to determine the next champ. Hey don’t think it couldn’t happen, it just could. The second scenario is Miz wins with the Rock’s interference and with that being the case, it’s a disqualification meaning he retains the belt. The third scenario is Cena winning the damn thing and becoming champ again (I don’t want to think this would happen, but alas, it could, lets hope not). Gotta say, once again the Rock was on with the promo, no one does it any better than him. Will also have to see what the final stipulation of this match will be in the coming couple of weeks.
CM Punk will be on his own at WM against Randy Orton. In a perfect world, Punk will win this match. But this isn’t a perfect world. The crowd loves Orton for some reason. I always liked him as a heel, not as a face. He “put out” a lot of faces from the roster with his boot to the skull and all of a sudden, we are expected to love him and take him in as our hero. Nope, not me. Punk has always said what was on his mind and as a heel he shines. He’s great. It will be interesting to see if they let him win this match at the PPV.
So now Snooki is going to be part of WM, ugh…sorry that’s all I can say. The only saving grace for the match is Ziggler and Morrison as well as Trish Stratus being involved. They don’t even need Snooki to make it a worthwhile match, geez.. I just don’t get why they would have Snooki in the biggest event of the year….blah..And one other thing, Drew Carey in the Hall of Fame? Really?? Really??
That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time……
