WWE Announces NXT Injury After Wednesday’s Attack

– WWE announced the following on WWE NXT Superstar Colin Cassady Wednesday night, following the attack from The Mechanics on NXT TV. Cass has already returned to the ring in a limited role as he worked the NXT Aftershock festival shows this past weekend and the injury is believed to be just an angle.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Colin Cassady suffered a sprained MCL and bone bruise in his left knee as a result of an attack by Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson, WWE.com has confirmed.

Dash & Dawson ambushed Cassady and tag team partner Enzo Amore from behind, before a scheduled bout on the Oct. 28 edition of WWE NXT.

According to NXT medical personnel, Cassady did not sustain any damage to his ACL in the incident.

The injury is not unlike that suffered by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in September, which to date has sidelined Roethlisberger for about four weeks.

Cassady is expected to be out of the ring for four to six weeks as he recovers from the injury.
