WWE Confirms New Movie Deal, Lawler-Cole Street Fight, More



- WWE confirmed over the weekend via press release that they have partnered with Anchor Bay Films to co-distribute action thriller The Day, which stars Shawn Ashmore, Dominic Monaghan, Shannyn Sossamon and Ashley Bell. WWE Studios President Michael Luisi said:

 

"With the incredible audience reaction it saw at Toronto (Film Festival), we knew that The Day would be a great addition to our brand. By combining the marketing power of our television, digital/social media and print assets with Anchor Bay’s tremendous distribution capabilities and successful track record, we look forward to bringing this film to a broad audience."

 

- Jerry Lawler returned to the ring at Sunday night's SmackDown live event in Nashville, Tennessee. He defeated Michael Cole in a Street Fight. The match saw interference from Camacho, Hunico and finally The Great Khali.

 

- Country music stars Trace Adkins and Randy Houser were in attendance for Sunday's SmackDown live event in Nashville, Tennessee.
