WWE Diva Dating Former WWE Superstar, Total Divas Viewership For Sunday’s Episode

– WWE Diva Layla revealed on Twitter that she’s dating former WWE star Ricky Ortiz. His name is Rich Young, who formerly competed for WWE as the towel-waving grappler.

Young initially gained notoriety on the gridiron, spending time in the National Football League (on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad in 1999), Canadian Football League (with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2000) and Arena Football League (2000 to 2001 and 2002 to 2004). In 2001, Ortiz played for the Orlando Rage of the Vince McMahon-owned-and-operated XFL.

After his football career ended, Ortiz entered the professional wrestling industry in 2006 and gained experience in Ohio Valley Wrestling. He would make his WWE debut two years later during the July 1, 2008 episode of ECW with a victory over Armando Estrada, initially under the moniker Atlas Ortiz. His name was changed to Ricky Ortiz the following week. Ortiz would enjoy a five-month winning streak to kick off his career in the sports-entertainment organization, besting several different opponents including Chavo Guerrero and Gavin Spears.

After his winning streak came to an end at the hands of Jack Swagger, Ortiz would continue on WWE’s version of the Land of Extreme intermittently competing for the third-tier brand. In April 2009, however, Ortiz’s fate would change as he was transferred to SmackDown in the 2009 Supplemental Draft. Ortiz would make sporadic appearances on Friday nights before ultimately being released from his contract on August 8, 2009. He still these days competes on the independent circuit, albeit on an intermittent basis.
