WWE Main Event – March 25, 2014
The show opens with the entrance of the Intercontinental Champion, Big E. Tom Phillips reports that Christian will not be able to compete in the championship match tonight due to a slight concussion. Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, and Alberto Del Rio will now wrestle in a triple threat match to determine the number one contender. That match will happen later on Main Event. Big E. will sit at ringside for this match. Sheamus’ music hits and he heads to the ring. Alberto Del Rio enters next. Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring.
Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler (Winner becomes number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship)
The match begins with Sheamus and Ziggler beating down Del Rio in the corner. The two then slug it out. Sheamus hits Ziggler to the ground and Del Rio dumps Ziggler out. Sheamus takes down Del Rio. Sheamus keeps control of Del Rio and gets a one-count pin. Sheamus runs into a Del Rio elbow, but grabs him for the rolling senton. Ziggler gets back in the ring as Del Rio rolls out. They lock up and Sheamus shoves Dolph to the corner. They lock up again and Sheamus hits a shoulder tackle after coming off the ropes. Sheamus hits another shoulder tackle. Ziggler then hits a dropkick and gets a two-count pin. Ziggler gets run over by Sheamus. Del Rio gets knocked off the ring apron and Ziggler rolls up Sheamus for a two-count. Sheamus slams Ziggler to retake control. Ziggler fights back but is caught on the apron by Sheamus. Del Rio kicks Sheamus in the head and Ziggler falls to the floor. Del Rio tosses Ziggler into the barrier on the outside. We go to break.
Back from break where Del Rio has control of Ziggler in the ring. Ziggler fights back but is hit with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Del Rio in control. Sheamus tries to get into the ring, but Del Rio cuts him off on the apron. Del Rio climbs to the top rope and jumps off, but Ziggler hits him with a dropkick. Everyone is down with Sheamus on the floor. Ziggler hits a running clothesline and gets Del Rio in the corner for a flurry of punches. Ziggler hits a neckbreaker but only gets a two-count on Del Rio. Del Rio gets up and kicks Ziggler in the gut. Sheamus pulls Ziggler out of the ring while Del Rio is on apron. Sheamus hits Del Rio and then goes after Ziggler. Irish Curse backbreakers for both Ziggler and Del Rio. Sheamus gets a two-count on Del Rio. Ziggler out to the floor. Sheamus waits to hit Del Rio, but Ziggler hits Sheamus. Del Rio runs into some boots from Sheamus and he gets onto the top tope. Sheamus hits Del Rio with a battering ram. He gets a two-count. Sheamus hits Del Rio in the corner, but Del Rio counters with a kick. Sheamus gets out of the cross armbreaker and clotheslines Del Rio out of the ring. Ziggler hits a huge ddt but only gets two on Sheamus. Everyone’s down. Ziggler misses a neckbreaker and trades counters with Sheamus. Sheamus locks in the Texas Cloverleaf. Del Rio hits a superkick on Sheamus, but only gets a two-count. Ziggler hits the Famouser on Del Rio, but only gets two. Ziggler misses the Zig Zag and is hit with the Brogue Kick by Sheamus. Del Rio rolls Sheamus up for two, but is hit by White Noise. Sheamus only gets two. Del Rio hits an arm breaker and locks in the cross arm breaker on Sheamus. Sheamus fights out and lifts Del Rio up, but Del Rio gets out of it. Sheamus misses a Brogue Kick and is hit by a backstabber. Ziggler comes out of nowhere and hits the Zig Zag on Del Rio during the backstabber and gets the three count for the win.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler (Will face Big E. for the Intercontinental Championship later tonight)
Dolph Ziggler is interviewed by Renee Young in the ring with Big E. there. Ziggler says he’s going to Wrestlemania and will win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal as Intercontinental Champion. He tells Big E. that he taught him a lot. Big E. says that Ziggler did show him the ins and outs of the business. He tells Dolph good luck, but that he will win the match. They shake hands. We see a recap of Raw featuring Randy Orton, Batista, and Stephanie McMahon’s confrontation. Batista will address the WWE Universe this Friday on SmackDown. Up next is the 10 Diva Tag-Team Match. We head to break.
Back from break where AJ Lee joins the commentary team. Natalya’s music hits and her team heads to the ring. Summer Rae’s music hits and her team heads to the ring.
10 Diva Tag-Team Match: Natalya, Eva Marie, Cameron, Naomi, and Emma vs. Summer Rae, Layla, Alicia Fox, Aksana, and Tamina Snuka
Layla and Natalya start with Natalya controlling. Natalya tags in Emma. Emma rolls up Layla for two. Layla kicks Emma but misses a splash in the corner. Emma locks in the DilEmma. Layla tags in Alicia Fox. Eva Marie is tagged in. Eva Marie uses the headlock takeover. Fox gets Eva in the corner. Eva tries to fight out of it and Summer Rae’s teams hits the ring. They disperse after Natalya’s team runs them out. Fox hits a Northern Lights Suplex. Summer Rae is tagged in and chokes Marie on the middle rope. Fox tags in and goes to a hold on Marie. Fox slams Marie but misses a leg drop. Marie tags in Naomi and Tamina is also tagged. Naomi hits a series of moves. She hits a cross body on Tamina. Everyone hits the ring. Emma and Eva clear the ring. They’re both hit by Tamina. Naomi fights off Tamina but is hit with a super kick. Tamina gets the three-count.
Winners: Summer Rae, Layla, Alicia Fox, Aksana, and Tamina Snuka
After the match, AJ comes in to raise Tamina’s hand. Tamina pulls her arm down and stares at AJ. AJ hugs Tamina. Tamina does not looks amused and AJ skips away and up the ramp. Up next we’ll see a recap of Raw featuring John Cena and the Wyatt Family. We head to break.
Back from break we find out that The Usos will wrestle in a four-way Tag-Team Championship match at Wrestlemania XXX against RybAxel, The Real Americans, and Los Matadores. We see a video package featuring Cena and Wyatt’s feud. We see highlights from Harper vs. Cena from yesterday’s Raw. We see how the Wyatt’s beat down Cena.
Bad News Barrett rises on his podium and tells us he has some bad news. He says it’s clear that Cena is freaked out by the Wyatts in the same way everyone in the arena is freaked out by seeing themselves in the mirror. Barrett makes fun the crowd’s appearance. Up next is Dolph Ziggler vs. Big E. for the Intercontinental Championship. We head to break.
Back from break where Big E. is getting in the ring, ready for his match. Ziggler’s music hits and he heads down the ramp.

The match begins with a lockup. Big E. shoves Ziggler to the mat. They lock up again with the same result, but this time Big E. follows with a clothesline. Ziggler gets behind Big E., but is slammed to the mat in a headlock. Ziggler tries to get out of it, but Big E. takes him to the mat again. They get up and Big E. hits a shoulder tackle. Ziggler hits a dropkick after Big E. hit the ropes again. Big E. hits a clothesline on Ziggler after an irish whip. Ziggler rolls out to the floor. We head to break.
Back from break where Big E. misses while charging Ziggler in the corner and hits the ring post. Ziggler hits a crossbody and follows with punches. Ziggler hits a neckbreaker. He gets a one-count. Big E. avoids he Famouser and hits a series of moves. Ziggler catches Big E. with a dropkick after Big E. set up the big splash. Big E. catches Ziggler in the corner and slams him to the mat. Ziggler rolls out to the floor. big E. follows and then chases Ziggler back into the ring. Ziggler hits a huge ddt for a two-count. Ziggler gets hit with a clothesline. Big E. gets a two count. Big E. pulls down the straps and puts Ziggler up for the Big Ending. Ziggler counters with a Famouser and gets a two-count. Ziggler misses a super kick and Big E. hits the Big Ending for the three-count.
Winner: Big E. (Still Intercontinental Champion)
After the match, the two face off in the ring. They embrace and Dolph raises Big E.’s hand. Main Event goes off the air.
