WWE NXT Live Event Results From Lowell (4/21): Huge Title Change, Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka, More

– Thanks to longtime reader Brendan From Boston for texting us the following WWE NXT live event results from Thursday night’s show in Lowell, Massachusetts:

Incredible show from bell to bell, every single match was good and the crowd stayed hot. The ending was a huge surprise but made the night that much better. Hopefully Balor is alright and it was just part of the match

* Mojo Rawley defeated Riddick Moss in a good opener. Mojo got a little bit of heat from the crowd but it didn’t phase him

* Bayley and Carmella defeated Peyton Royce and Dana Brooke, who was making her return from injury. Good match in the ring and a lot of fun. Bayley pinned Peyton for the win

* Chris Girard defeated Tommaso Ciampa in an amazing match, ended up being one of the best of the night. They had a show of respect before and after the match. Excellent action

* Austin Aries defeated Manny Andrade with a Last Chancery. Another great singles match with solid back and forth action. Good chemistry. Fans chanted for Manny after the match

* Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Elias Samson in a NXT Showcase Match. Major boos for Samson before the match. Nakamura’s music interrupted to a huge pop and he kept the crowd engaged. Awesome match, Nakamura is great

* NXT Tag Team Champions Chad Gable and Jason Jordan defeated Dash and Dawson to retain. As good as their Takeover match if not better, American Alpha was loved by everyone

* NXT Women’s Champion Asuka defeated Alexa Bliss to retain with the Asuka Lock. I anticipated a mixed reaction for Asuka based on some of the recent Florida reports but she was over big time. Great match, except for the “where’s Chyna?” chants. Asuka comes off much more advanced than the rest but Bliss worked well with her

* Samoa Joe defeated Finn Balor to become the new NXT Champion. Good and hard-hitting like their Takeover match but not the match of the night until the insane finish. Crowd was still hot for this until Balor came up looking like he rolled his ankle. The referee immediately threw up the “X” and trainers came out but Joe took the win and the title. The crowd went nuts and Joe celebrated as doctors tended to Balor
