WWE NXT Results – April 1, 2015

We kick off the show with the welcome return of Sami Zayn, and that fantastic theme music. He grabs a mic and tells the fans its good to be back, before explaining how his recent exploits in Abu Dhabi with the WWE gave him time to think, but rather than think about what he’d achieved in getting there, all he could think about was Kevin Owens, and how Owens is a different man from the one Zayn used to know. In all this time though, he has devised a plan for dealing with the new Owens, involving invoking his rematch clause and reclaiming his championship, but that priority number 1 is kicking Kevin Owens ass!

Rhyno vs. Enhancement Talent

Rhyno starts with some powerful offence, before hitting a huge belly to belly, followed by a Gore for a quick squash victory

Winner: Rhyno

After the match Rhyno gets on the mic to say how he came to NXT to make a statement and to win the NXT championship, the fans chant ‘Gore Gore Gore’ as Rhyno calls out Zayn, Balor and Owens, since regardless who gets in his way, they will be torn apart by the Gore.

We return for an ad break for Dana Brook’s debut in two weeks to a video package of last week’s NXT Title main event, followed by an interview that took place after the match, in which Owens claims that all that matters is that he won, because no-one will take his title. Bayley’s music hits as the action continues:

Bayley vs. Emma

The fans vociferously chant for Bayley, whilst Emma appears to apologise to Bayley for having slapped her last week. The pair tie-up, with neither woman able to gain the upper hand in the early stages, though a stiff shoulder tackle from Bayley sends Emma to the floor. She is unable to gain any momentum however, as Emma responds with a big clothesline before forcing Bayley into the corner and daring Bayley to reveal her mean streak, and Bayley responds in kind, repeatedly smashing Emma’s head into the turnbuckle, but Emma dodges an attempted splash in the corner before delivering a tarantula in the corner. Emma believes she has the win with a pinfall after an ‘Emmamite Sandwich’ in the corner, but Bayley reverses the pin into a rollup for the victory.

Winner: Bayley

Backstage, Becky Lynch bemoans the fact that despite her performance in the Fatal 4 Way at Takeover, she has been denied a title shot against Sasha Banks. She welcomes everyone to ‘N Bex T’.

The Lucha Dragons vs. Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake (Non-Title match)

We return from an ad break for Monday’s Talk is Jericho Podcast with John Cena to the entrance of Tag champs Blake and Murphy. The recent RAW debutants the Lucha Dragons follow them to the ring. Kalisto and Murphy start us off, with Kalisto hitting a springboard arm drag to get Murphy out of the ring, before Sin Cara hits a flying clothesline through the ropes to the champs, followed by a springboard moonsault by Kalisto. Both teams exchange some quick tags back in the ring, before Wesley Blake scores a couple of quick near falls on Kalisto then seizing control with a headlock. Kalisto is finally able to fight out for an inverted powerbomb pin, but his comeback is short-lived due to a big clothesline from Blake. He tags in Murphy, who goes straight back to the headlock, but Kalisto finally fights out and gets the hot tag to Sin Cara, who hits a springboard crossbody to Murphy, followed by a springboard moonsault for a near fall. Sin Cara is given a huge right hand by Blake while the referee is distracted, which allows Murphy to hit a running vertical suplex, before tagging in Blake, who delivers a frog splash for the victory.

Winner: Blake and Murphy

Backstage, Sami Zayn is interrupted by Rhyno, who claims that he doesn’t care about Zayn’s issues with Owens, because the line for the NXT title starts behind the ECW veteran. We then see a commercial for Solomon Crowe, before returning for a grudge match between former tag partners Tye Dillinger and Jason Jordan.

Tye Dillinger vs. Jason Jordan

Dillinger starts off with a big forearm and chop, attempting a german suplex but receiving an elbow from Jordan, before a spear to the corner. Jordan hits some aggressive amateur wrestling moves, before a splash off the ropes for a near fall. He applies a rear chin-lock whilst trash-talking Dillinger, claiming Dillinger is nothing without him, but Dillinger is able to fight out with a shoulder block, an atomic drop, and a series of chops as he begins to build momentum. He hits a side Russian legsweep, before forcing Jordan into the corner to deliver some punches, but Jordan powers out, before hitting a huge modified German suplex for the victory.

Winner: Jason Jordan

Our main event between Breeze and Itami is up next, and it is preceded by a video package explaining the history that has existed between these two in NXT.

Tyler Breeze vs. Hideo Itami (2 out of 3 falls)

Fall 1: The pair tie-up, before Breeze drives his shoulder into Itami’s midsection repeatedly, before delivering a few splashes into the corner. Itami responds with a splash of his own though, before a knee and a series of kicks force Breeze into the corner. Itami hits a dropkick with Breeze lying prone, before a running kick off the ropes gives the Japanese star a quick first fall

Winner of fall 1: Hideo Itami

Fall 2: Breeze tries to pick himself up in the corner as the ref rings the bell to start the second fall. Breeze sits in the corner, biding his time and regaining his bearings as the ref holds Itami back, but Breeze hits a Beauty Shot out of the corner to gain the second fall immediately.

Winner of fall 2: Tyler Breeze

Fall 3: We return from a commercial to Breeze stomping Breeze in the corner, before a shoulder block off the ropes for a near fall. He continues the assault on Itami, hitting some elbows to the back of the head for another near fall, before applying a headlock to try and wear Itami down. Itami tries to fight out, but Breeze delivers a big dropkick for another near fall, which forces Breeze to scream in frustration. Breeze goes back to the headlock, but as he attempts another dropkick off the ropes, Itami dodges, and hits a clothesline and a legsweep to regain control. Itami hits a DDT from the top onto the ropes, but misses with a double foot stomp and rolls through, blocking Breeze’s attempted forearm before hitting a huge clothesline for a near fall of his own. Itami attempts a fisherman suplex, which Breeze reverses into an inside cradle for a near fall. The pair exchange near falls, before a Supermodel Kick from Breeze gives him the closest near fall of the contest. Both men struggle to get back to their feet, as the fans will both men on, Breeze hits a trio of knees to the face of Itami, which just seem to anger Itami, who screams with rage as he hits some patented chops and kicks, but Breeze dodges a running dropkick into the corner, Breeze attempts to counter with a Beauty Shot but he misses also. Itami forces Breeze back into the corner, and this time successfully hits the dropkick, but as he whips Breeze into the ropes, Breeze hits the Beauty Shot out of nowhere for the victory.

Winner of fall 3 and Winner overall: Tyler Breeze
