WWE NXT Results – April 21, 2017
We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Nigel McGuinness, Tom Phillips, and Percy Watson.
Match Number One: Aleister Black versus Corey Hollis
Black stands in place while Hollis moves around before locking up. Black with Black Mass for the three count.
Winner: Aleister Black
We take a look at Tye Dillinger’s debut on the Smackdown roster last week against Curt Hawkins.
Tye is congratulated on his Smackdown debut and he says he has been working on this for fifteen years. He says he has some unfinished business on NXT. He says he talked to William Regal and next week, he gets to finish things with Eric Young. Tye says if Eric thinks he will work the numbers game with Sanity, it will be tough because this match will be inside a steel cage.
We go to commercial.
Match Number Two: Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa versus Dylan Miley and Michael Blaze
Miley starts off against Ciampa and they shake hands but Miley does not release at first. Ciampa with a side head lock. Miley picks up Ciampa and tries to send him off the ropes but Ciampa holds on. Miley picks up Ciampa but Ciampa gets to his feet. Ciampa tries for a clothesline but Miley runs through it and he connects with a shoulder tackle. Miley presses Ciampa over his head and Ciampa gets to his feet. Gargano tags in and Miley catches Johnny and then goes for a delayed vertical suplex and Gargano tries to get free, but it does not work and Miley hits the suplex.
Blaze tags in and he kicks Gargano and punches him. The referee warns Blaze. Blaze with an Irish whip and Gargano floats over and hits the rolling kick. Gargano with a chop and then Ciampa tags in and they hit a running knee and enzuigiri. Miley is knocked off the apron and Gargano tags in and they hit the running knee and super kick combination for the three count.
Winners: Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa
After the match, Miley comes back into the ring and he has a look of disgust on his face. Miley with cross faces to Blaze and then he palms Blaze’s face and choke slams him. Miley with a back breaker and he holds on for a power slam.
We take a look back at the Women’s Title Match at Takeover.
We see the arena after the ring is taken down. Ember Moon walks into the arena and she says this was supposed to be her moment. This was supposed to be her opportunity to show the world that she can do anything. It was her destiny to win and to go down in history as the one. That is where it all went wrong. That is where Asuka proved that she will do anything to keep the NXT Women’s Championship. Just as you were mine, she will be hers. She will be the one and she will be the next NXT Women’s Champion.

We are back with comments from Ruby Riot. She says she made her NXT debut standing up to Nikki Cross and Sanity. She did not like what they did, but she came to NXT to become the NXT Women’s Champion. The path starts tonight and they start a riot.
Match Number Three: Ruby Riot versus Kimberly Frankele
They lock up and Kimberly with an arm drag and punch. Kimberly with forearms and she sends Ruby into the turnbuckles. Ruby with a boot to Kimberly and she hits a rana off the turnbuckles.
Nikki Cross appears at ringside.
Kimberly with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a near fall. Kimberly with a kick to the back and she sends Ruby into the turnbuckles. Kimberly with a chop but Ruby blocks a chop and responds with chops of her own. Ruby with a clothesline and elbow followed by a drop kick. Ruby sends Kimberly into the turnbuckles and kicks Kimberly and follows with a jumping round kick for the three count.
Winner: Ruby Riot
After the match, Nikki laughs and she heads up the ramp.
We go to commercial.
We see Billie Kay ijn the Performance Center talking about changing things up. She is joined by Peyton Royce on camera and they see Aliyah and Liv Morgan. Liv pushes Billie into a whirlpool and she has trouble getting out.
Match Number Four: Oney Lorcan versus Drew McIntyre
They lock up and Drew with a clean break. Lorcan with a side head lock and Drew with an Irish whip. Drew with a slam and Lorcan goes to the floor. Drew tells Lorcan to come back to the ring. Lorcan with two running European uppercuts and Drew goes to the floor. Lorcan with a plancha onto Drew and then he goes up top for a cross body but Drew catches Oney and hits a tilt-a-whirl back breaker on the apron as we go to commercial.
We are back and Drew with a chop and a butterfly suplex for a near fall. Drew with another chop followed by an Irish whip. Drew runs into a boot and Lorcan rolls past Drew and then he hits a running blockbuster for a near fall. Lorcan goes back to the apron and turnbuckles but Drew with a head butt to Lorcan and Drew climbs the turnbuckles. Lorcan crotches Drew and puts him in the tree of woe. Lorcan takes too long and Drew pulls himself up and sends Lorcan to the mat by the neck.
Lorcan with slaps to Drew. Drew blocks a kick and he hits a reverse wheelbarrow slam. Drew with a flying boot for the three count.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
After the match, Drew is asked what brings him to NXT. Drew says this is where he needs to be. He says he has built a reputation and he could have signed anywhere in the world. He has the Raw talent and he could put the Smackdown on anyone, but he doesn’t want to be anywhere but NXT.

Shinsuke Nakamura makes his way to the ring.
He says one year ago he came to NXT. He already had experience and he was already a champion in Japan, but he came to challenge himself to compete against the best in the world. One year later, he calls NXT his home. He learned a lot from the NXT superstars and coaches. He also learned from the fans.
Nakamura says NXT is its own brand. NXT creates something new and different. One thing he found very quickly was that the NXT Universe was crazy. He says you created chants, the singing. He says this is the innovation and the passion. NXT is your style. He says he will always be NXT because WE ARE NXT!
The wrestlers come to the stage to salute Nakamura.
Shinsuke and the other wrestlers are joined by a special guest from Raw, Finn Balor.
