We begin with a look back at what Kevin Owens has done to Sami Zayn since Owens debuted in NXT. Then we see Sami’s triumphant return to NXT and the announcement of his rematch against Adrian Neville. We see footage from the rematch that saw Sami retain the title. After Zayn’s victory, he was attacked one more time by Kevin Owens.
William Regal is in his office and he says that he is announcing that the next NXT special will take place on February 11th. After last week’s title match between Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville, there will be a tournament to determine the number one contender for the title. Also, Charlotte will defend the Divas title against Sasha Banks.
We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Rich Brennan, Corey Graves, and Jason Albert.
Sami Zayn attacks Tye Dillinger before the bell rings and he punches Tye while the referee warns him.
Sami takes the mic and he tells Kevin Owens to get out now.
Instead of Kevin Owens, William Regal comes out and he wants to know what is going on with Sami. He says Sami cannot act like that.
Zayn says that he is not wrestling another match unless it is against Kevin Owens. He wants Owens out here.
Regal tells Zayn he will not allow any competitor to jump people and go above the chain to get a title match. Owens may get a title match some day, but he does not deserve one right now.
Zayn says that he doesn’t care if it is a non-title match, he wants Owens. He says that he is not going to tell Regal because he respects William. He says that he is asking for Owens. He will face the number one contender, but he wants Owens first.
Regal says that he sees he will not let it go so on February 11th at Takeover, you will face Kevin Owens.
Zayn leaves the ring and he goes to the back.
The announcers run through the matches later tonight on the show as we go to commercial.
We are back and we are reminded that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will meet in a non-title match at Takeover on February 11th.
William Regal was asked about the match. Regal says next week there will be a contract signing for the match on the 11th.
Match Number One: Curtis Axel versus Finn Balor in a Number One Contender Tournament First Round Match
They lock up and Axel backs Balor into the ropes and Axel pushes Balor. They lock up again and Balor with a waist lock and Axel with an elbow and punch to Balor. Axel with another punch. Balor with a drop kick and Axel goes to the floor. Balor with a flip dive onto Axel. Axel is rolled back into the ring and Balor with an enzuigiri from the apron and then the referee holds Axel back. Axel with a kick to the knee.
Axel misses a clothesline but he hits one to the back of the head for a near fall. Axel sends Balor into the turnbuckles and he kicks him and the referee has to pull Axel out of the corner. Axel chokes Balor in the corner. Axel and Balor with punches but Axel with a drop kick.
Axel with a reverse chin lock and he leans back to add more pressure to the neck. Balor with punches but Axel with a running knee to the head and he gets a near fall. Axel goes to the turnbuckles and he misses an elbow drop when Balor moves. Balor with a running forearm or two. Balor with a Pele Kick followed by the Slingblade. Balor with a running drop kick into the corner and he goes up top for the double stomp and he connects for the three count.
Winner: Finn Balor (Advances to face the winner of Hideo Itami versus Tyler Breeze in the second round)
We see the brackets for the tournament and then we see footage from last week when Sasha Banks pinned Charlotte in a tag match.
We go to Devin Taylor with Sasha Banks in the interview area. Devin starts to ask Sasha a question and she talks about how she will do the exact same thing tonight, but tonight Charlotte will have no one to save her. The Boss will finally become the new NXT Women’s Champion.

We are back and Bull Dempsey says he had his ticket to the top but it slipped through is fingers when he could not finish Baron Corbin. Next week, there won’t be any counting or any bright while lights. There will be an arena full of people chanting ‘Bull . . . Bull . . . Bull’
Match Number Two: Sasha Banks (with Becky Lynch) versus Charlotte for the NXT Womens’ Title
Sasha says something to Charlotte and Charlotte has something to say to Sasha. They lock up and go around the ring but Charlotte pushes Sasha away. They lock up again and they go down to the mat. Sasha with the advantage before they both get back to their feet. They lock up again and they go down to the mat to get an advantage. Sasha gets a series of near falls. They go through the ropes to the floor while locked up and then Charlotte with a forearm to the back.
Becky tries to interfere and Charlotte with a clothesline to Becky. Charlotte sends Sasha back into the ring and Charlotte with a slam and she drops a knee to the head for a near fall. Sasha with a Thesz Press and punches to Charlotte. Charlotte with a Thesz Press of her own and Becky gets in the ring and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Charlotte (by disqualification)
After the match, Becky and Sasha attack Charlotte. Bayley comes to the ring and she forces Becky and Sasha out of the ring.
Bayley takes the belt from the referee and Charlotte wants her belt from her. Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex to Charlotte.
William Regal says there appears to be some issues. At Takeover, Charlotte will defend her Women’s Title against Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks in a Fatal Four Way Match.
Everyone but Sasha appears to be happy about this announcement.

We are back and Kevin Owens is asked to answer a few questions. He is asked about the match with Sami Zayn at Takeover. Kevin says that whatever he has to say to Sami he will say it to him in person next week.
Match Number Three: Aiden English and Simon Gotch versus Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy
Murphy and English start things off and they lock up. English backs Murphy into the corner but Murphy with a leg lariat. Murphy with a wrist lock but English sends Murphy into the corner and he kicks Murphy. Gotch tags in and he connects with a European uppercut. Gotch with a front face lock and he tags English back in and he punches Murphy in the ribs. Gotch tags back in and English with a back breaker and Gotch with a suplex.
Gotch gets a near fall. Gotch keeps Murphy from making the tag and he kicks Murphy. English tags back in and he kicks Murphy. English chokes Murphy with his knee and the referee warns him. English with a rear chin lock. English pulls Murphy back to the mat when Murphy gets to his feet to continue the pressure on the neck.
English with a forearm and Gotch tags in and he head butts Murphy in the back. Gotch with crossfaces to Murphy. Gotch tags English back in and Gotch with a back breaker and English tries for a suplex but Murphy gets to his feet and Blake tags in. Blake with clotheslines followed by an elbow and a springboard forearm after knocking Gotch off the apron. Blake with a power slam for a near fall. Murphy tries to throw Gotch out of the ring but Gotch sends Murphy to the floor. Murphy with a round kick to English from the floor and Blake gets the three count.
Winners: Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake
Tyler Breeze is in the back and he says it is a matter of time before your hero becomes your NXT Champion. Once he does, he will implement his plan of separating the world into super good looking people and uggos.

We are back and Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy are asked about their upset. Wesley says it was not an upset. They won fair and square. Murphy says this is their year. They want to challenge the Lucha Dragons for the Tag Titles next week.
Match Number Four: Tyler Breeze versus Hideo Itami in a Number One Contender Tournament First Round Match
They lock up and Breeze with a side head lock but Itami tries for a round kick but Breeze holds on to the ropes to avoid it. Breeze with a waist lock but Itami with a standing switch and snap mare. Breeze avoids a series of kicks and he tries to hide behind the referee. Breeze with a back heel kick to Itami. Itami with a knee to the midsection followed by a running kick to the chest.
Itami gets a near fall. Breeze backs into the corner and Itami with chops. Breeze sends Itami into the turnbuckles and then he sends Itami to the floor. Breeze goes to the floor and he kicks Itami in the ribs. Breeze rolls Itami back into the ring but Itami with punches. Breeze with a drop kick for a near fall. Breeze sends Itami into the turnbuckles and he kicks Hideo.
Breeze argues with the referee and he snap mares Itami and drops a leg on the throat for a near fall. Breeze with a side head lock. Itami with elbows but Breeze with a knee and he hits a neck breaker for a near fall.

We are back and Breeze continues with a rear chin lock on Itami. Itami with elbows but Breeze with a knee. Itami with a forearm and clothesline followed by an elbow. Itami with a back heel sweep and a knee into the corner. Itami goes to the turnbuckles for a tornado DDT but Breeze puts Itami on the apron. Itami with a clothesline off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Breeze holds on to the ropes and then he kicks Itami.
Breeze sets for a piledriver but Itami with a kick and knee followed by a suplex and he gets a near fall. Itami is sent to the apron but he avoids a shoulder from Breeze and he connects with a kick. Breeze holds on when Itami goes for an O’Connor Roll and Breeze with a super kick for a near fall.
Breeze punches Itami in the corner and the referee warns him. Breeze with kicks and the referee warns him one more time. Breeze picks up Itami to put him on the turnbuckles. Itami with punches. Breeze blocks a kick and then he hits a crucifix bomb for a near fall. Breeze tells Itami he is not better than him and he punches Itami. Itami with punches and chops followed by a series of kicks that send Breeze into the corner. Itami with a hesitation drop kick followed by a flying boot for the three count.
