WWE NXT Results – January 22, 2014

Good Evening everyone and welcome to this weeks edition of WWE NXT. Our announcers for the night are Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and Tensai. Our opening match will be a one on one contest between Adrian Nevelle and Wesley Blake.

Adrian Nevelle vs. Wesley Blake

Loud lets go Nevelle chants to start the match. Both men lock up and Nevelle gains the quick advantage with some acrobatic chain wrestling. Nevelle tosses Blake over into a headlock. Blake fights back to his feet but takes a shoulder block from Nevelle. Nevelle with a quick arm drag into a shoulder lock. Blake fights back to his feet again and backs Nevelle into the corner. Nevelle couters by flipping off the top rope and connects with a big back body drop. Nevelle comes off the top again with a missile drop kick. Adrian tosses Blake head first into the corner and connects with a stiff chop. Loud “one more time” chant by the NXT crowd. Nevelle goes for another chop, but Blake connects with a kick to the gut. Blake now on the offensive. Blake with a shoulder tackle and a European uppercut. Nevelle fights back with shots to the gut and follows with a couple flying lariats. Nevelle hits a spinning back kick and a sitout drop kick. Nevelle goes to the top and Nevelle connects with the Red Arrow for the 3 count.

Winner by Pinfall – Adrian Nevelle

We go the back where we catch up with the BFFs. Charlotte says that she is now part of the BFFs, and loves the perks that come with it. She then talks trash about Bailey and says that life will knock her down because she is a nobody, unlike her. Summer Rae says that tonight, the rise of the BFFs will start when she defeats Natalya in their match tonight.

Back on NXT, Xavier Woods makes his way to the ring. He will go one on one with Alexander Rusev.

Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev w/ Lana

Both men lock up to start the match, but Woods backs off and uses his speed to get the advantage. Woods comes off the ropes and hits a big drop kick. Rusev comes back with a big right hand to knock Woods to the canvas. Rusev mounts Woods and connects with lots of big right hands. Rusev gets Woods in the corner and connects with big kicks to the leg, then one to the body. Rusev covers for a 2 count. Rusev stands on the head of Woods and extends his arm out into a shoulder lock. Woods fights back to his feet and connects with right hands and a headbutt. Woods trying his hardest to get Rusev off his feet and does with a dropkick. Woods charges in and connects with a shining wizard for a 2 count. Woods is still all over Rusev. Woods charges in and eats a big kick to the chest by Rusev. Rusev locks in the accolade and Woods taps out.

Winner by Submission – Alexander Rusev

After the match, Rusev locks the accolage back on Woods and ignores the referee as Lana looks on. The music of Sin Cara starts up and he comes to the ring. Sin Cara connects with a head scissor on Rusev and makes the save for Woods. Sin Cara and Xavier Woods backs up the ring as Rusev yells with anger in the ring.

Back on NXT, CJ Parker makes his way to the ring. He is going to go one on one with Antonio Cesaro.

CJ Parker vs. Antonio Cesaro

Parker and Cesaro lock up to start the match. Parker backs Cesaro into the corner and backs up with a clean break. They lock up again and Cesaro locks in a wristlock. Parker reverses into a snapmare. Parker tries a senton splash but Cesaro gets his knees up. Cesaro connects with a kick to the back. Parker hits the ropes and gets hit with a big back body drop. Cesaro locks in a rear chin locks and transitions into an underhook chin lock. Parker fights back to his feet and connects with a kick to the chest and some right hands. Parker flies in with a clothesline and a heel kick. Parker connects with double knees in the corner. Parker goes up to and connects with a crossbody for a close 2 count. Parker lifts Cesaro on his shoulders and does a big airplane spin. Cesaro takes down Parker and does the Cesaro Swing. Cesaro goes 10 rotations and lets go. Cesaro sets up the neutralizer and connects for the 3 count.

After the match, Sami Zayn makes his way to the stage. Zayn says 2014 us off to a rocky start because of his injury. He says 2013 was probably the best year of his career. One match in particular stands out. His 2 out of 3 falls match with Cesaro. Some called it the match of the year. Zayn says that match is the one thing he needs to fix. Zayn says he wants a rematch with Cesaro. Cesaro makes his way out of the ring and up the ramp to Zayn. Cesaro says “no” and walks to the back.

Back on NXT, we go to the back with The Miz. They Miz says this is his first time at Full Sail, and it’s awesome. He says tonight, he might have to do a Miz Tv. CJ Parker shows up and says he is bummed out. He keeps losing and the fans keep booing him. The Miz says he can see why. Parker asks what he means. Miz says he just interupted him, and that’s disrespectful. Parker says Miz must have a giant carbon foot print. Parker then slaps Miz and walks out of the camera.

Back in the arena, Natalya makes her way to the ring with Bailey. Natalya will go one on one with Summer Rae.

Natalya vs. Summer Rae

Summer and Natalya lock up to start the match. Natty hits a quick hip toss, but Summer counters with a head scissor. Natalya and Summer lock shoulders and Natalya goes back first into the corner. Natalya comes off the ropes and connects with a sit out drop kick. Summer fights back and hits a clothesline. Summer covers for a 2 count. Summer locks in a modified figure 4 leg lock. Summer sits back to get more pressure. Natalya reverses into a leg lock of her own but Summer gets to the ropes. Summer puts Natty’s leg on the rope and lands hard on it. She tries it again, but Natalya pushes her out of the ring. Summer gets back in the ring and eats a drop toe hold. Natalya with a snap suplex and a clothesline. Natalya with a big right hand, but Summer fights back with a spinning kick. Natalya grabs her leg and tackles her down. Natalya locks in the Sharpshooter and Summer Rae taps out.

We go to the back with Enzo Amore and Collin Cassady. Enzo says before he broke his leg, he lived on the edge. After breaking his leg, it’s changed a little. Cassady says that Enzo will make a full recovery and be back soon. Aiden English shows up and says their dancing match last week was a draw. Cassady says he has done nothing but make cheap shots. English says he will show them how good of a singer he is right now. Enzo runs over English’s foot and leaves the shot as English writhes in pain.

Back on NXT, Bo Dallas makes his way to the ring. This is the banner raising for Bo being the longest reigning NXT champion in history. Bo thanks the NXT Universe for their ovation. Bo says their reaction is the reason for celebrating this moment. Bo says that he cherish’s their cheers. Bo says when they chant, it gives him so much confidence. He says that they aren’t celebrating Seth Rollins or Big E Langston, but they are celebrating him. He says that he didn’t ask for this, but it is a great honor and he humbly accepts. Bo wants to thank some fans in the crowd. He says most of all, he wants to thank all of his Bo-leavers, and he wants to dedicate the raising of the banner to them. He asks for a drumroll, and they reveal the banner hanging in the rafters. As Bo celebrates, Adrian Nevelle makes his way out to the ring. Bo asks Nevelle if he is here to congratulate him. Nevelle says no, but he is out to the ring for a reason. He is out on behalf of himself and everyone here. He came out to tell Bo to shut up. Nevelle says he has came out because Bo has the privilege to come out and annoy everyone, but Nevelle is going to take that privilege away from him. Bo tells Nevelle that he has earned title shots before, and he got it by beating a nobody. Bo says he is the champion, and it wouldn’t take him long to beat Nevelle. Bo says Nevelle fighting him is pointless. Triple H shows up on the big screen. He says both men make great points, and he is here to settle the dispute. He says Nevelle has earned the opportunity. He says if Nevelle can last 4:45 seconds against Bo Dallas, he will get his title shot on the live episode of NXT in February. Triple H tells them not to go anywhere though, because that match starts right now.

Bo Dallas vs. Adrian Nevelle

Back on NXT, we are underway with the match. Bo charges Nevelle, but Nevelle moves and connects with a right hand. Nevelle hits a quick hip toss. Bo charges at him and Nevelle side steps and Bo flies out of the ring. Nevelle tries to reach him out of the ring, but Bo pulls him out. Nevelle gets back in the ring, and comes over the top onto Bo. Nevelle gets back on the apron, but Bo pulls him down very strongly. Ref gets to almost a 10 count but Nevelle gets back in the ring. Bo covers and gets a 2 count. Bo with a big suplex and a cover for another 2 count. Bo drops numerous knees to the face of Nevelle. Bo covers again and gets another 2 count. Bo connects with big elbows to the face of Nevelle in the corner. Bo with a scoop slam and another cover for a 2 count. Bo pulls Nevelle back to his feet and hits a back elbow. He picks Nevelle up and again connects with a back elbow. Bo goes for a clothesline but Nevelle ducks and connects with kicks to the leg. Nevelle comes of the ropes and hits 2 flying lariats. Nevelle connects with a sit out drop kick. Nevelle goes up top for the Red Arrow, but Bo rolls out of the ring. Nevelle stands on the top rope as Bo stands outside the ring. The clock counts down to zero and Adrian Nevelle is now the #1 contender for the NXT Championship.

After the match, Bo tries to attack Nevelle, but Nevelle moves and Bo hits the ring post. Nevelle goes up top and connects with the Red Arrow. Nevelle counts a 3 count himself to prove he can pin Bo Dallas. Nevelle poses with the NXT Championship as we go off the air.
