WWE Raw Results – December 16 2013
We open the show with the entire roster on the stage. Stephanie and Triple H are in the ring. Triple H and Stephanie reiterate how important Randy Orton’s victory was and they then introduce him to the ring. Randys music hits and he makes his way down with both championships on his shoulders. Randy says no had faith that he would win on Sunday. He proved everyone wrong who said he has been handed everything as he made two championships into one. He then says it is fitting everyone is on the stage since he is that much better than everyone else. Cena interrupts him and calls him stupid. He says he knows what he will say and he just wants to congratulate him. Cena then says that as champion it is time for Orton to put up or shut up.
Orton says that he isn’t getting his rematch tonight but Cena says he isn’t talking about him. Cena says he thinks Orton should face Daniel Bryan tonight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Cena then says he understands why he wouldn’t because he scared. Orton says it isn’t because he is scared but because he doesn’t have to listen to anyone. Stephanie says he does have to listen to them. Triple H then says that he doesn’t think Daniel Bryan deserves this match but Stephanie says Daniel was voted Superstar of the Year. Triple H then says that he wants to give the fans what they want. Triple H says there is no better way to start Ortons reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion then to face Daniel Bryan tonight.
The Brotherhood will compete next after the break against either Big Show and Mysterio, The Real Americans, or Rybaxel. Voting is still open. We cut to commercial.
The Brotherhood vs Rey Mysterio and Big Show
Cody and Rey start the match. Rey and Cody lock up to a stalemate. They go at it again and Rey hits a hurricanrana on Cody to the outside. Rey then hits a splash on Cody and brings him back in the ring. Cody gets some offense and hits a quick disaster kick for a 2 count. Cody hits a stalling front suplex and goes for the cover. Cody only gets a 2 count and tags in Goldust. Goldust works the arm and tags in Cody. Rey takes down Cody and tags in Big Show. Show hits a big shoulder block on Cody as we head to commercial.
We return with Cody trying to make a tag to Goldust. Big Show stops him and hits him with a scoop slam. Show hits Cody with a chop to the chest, but Cody fight back. Cody bounces off the ropes but is taken out with a big kick. Cody is put in a sleeper hold and looks to be out cold. Cody fights out and tries to make a tag but Big Show stops him. Big Show puts Cody in the corner and backs into him twice. Big Show then hits a vicious chop to the chest of Cody. Show hits a massive clothesline and goes for the cover for a 2 count. Big Show goes to the second rope and goes for an elbow drop but Cody moves out of the way.
Goldust is tagged in and begins his comeback sequence. Goldust is caught with a chokeslam. Cody breaks up the pin but Big Show throws him out of the ring. Big Show then hits the KO punch on Goldust and then tags in Mysterio. Rey goes on the shoulders of Show and hits a splash for the 3 count.
Winners: Big Show and Rey Mysterio
We are told that we can choose Punks partners tonight against The Shield. The choices are The Usos, Los Matadores, and The PrimeTime Players. We go to commercial break as voting begins now.
We return and are told next week is “Raw Christmas”. We are now welcomed by Bad News Barrett. Wade Barrett said there is over half a billion dollars in lottery money this week, but he says he has some bad news; none of us will earn a cent of that money. We return with Orton backstage in the Authority’s office. Orton is furious, saying it is unacceptable how he is being treated after winning the biggest match ever. Stephanie says that there is more to being champion that meets the eye, and that it is a tremendous responsibility. Triple H then says he can’t just say he is champion, but he has to show that he is champion. Triple H then says he has is back.
Fandango makes his way to the ring and he will face Dolph Ziggler after the commercial break.
Dolph Ziggler vs Fandango
Fandango starts off with a back drop but Dolph lands on his feet. Ziggler hits a dropkick and Fandango goes to the outside. Ziggler follows him and Dolph eats a clothesline on the floor. Fandango brings him in the ring and goes for the cover for a two count. Fandango hits a back drop for a 2 count. Fandango puts Ziggler in a headlock but Dolph fights out. Dolph tries to fight back but Fandango hits a wheel kick. Fandango puts Ziggler in another headlock and Dolph once again fights out and goes for a roll up for a 2 count. Fandango however hits a clothesline and gets another 2 count. Fandango throws Ziggler off the ropes but Dolph catches him with a roll up for a 3 count.
Winners: Dolph Ziggler
Big E and Mark Henry will team up next after the commercial break.
The Real Americans vs Big E Langston and Mark Henry
Swagger and Big E start the match off. Swagger is whipped against the ropes and Big E leap frogs over him, and hits him with a shoulder block. Cesaro is tagged in and is roughed around by Big E, where Swagger is tagged back in. Henry is tagged in and Henry begins to beat down Swagger in the corner. Big E is tagged back in and hits two shoulder blocks in the corner on Swagger. Henry is tagged back in and hits a couple of shoulder blocks in the corner of his own.
Big E is tagged in and hits 10 mounted punches on Swagger. Big E then hits a clothesline but only gets a 2 count. Big E begins to work the arm but Swagger fights out and tags in Cesaro. Cesaro gets hip tossed by Langston and Henry is tagged in. Cesaro fights out and tags in Swagger but Henry hits a clothesline. Big E is tagged in and Swagger rolls to the outside. Cesaro gets in the ring and is clotheslined to the outside. Cesaro is now the legal man and is brought back in the ring by Big E.
Big E hits a back body drop but Cesaro makes the tag without Big E seeing it. Swagger takes Langston to the outside and whips him into the announcers table. Big E is down as we head back to commercial.
We return with Cesaro in control over Big E. Big E tries to make a tag but Cesaro stops him. Cesaro hits a gut wrench suplex for a two count. Swagger is tagged in and hits a belly to belly suplex for another 2 count. Big E takes down Swagger and Cesaro tags himself in and prevents Big E from making the tag. Swagger is tagged back in and works the arm of Big E. Cesaro is tagged in but Big E takes them both out. Henry is tagged in and Henry begins to make his comeback on Cesaro. Henry follows a triplet of headbutts with a power slam. Henry takes out Swagger but Cesaro hits a dropkick on Henry. Big E is tagged in and hits a clothesline on Cesaro. Big E then hits the Big Ending for a 3 count.
Winners: Big E Langston and Mark Henry
We return with a segment featuring Damien Sandow playing Santa and AJ and Tamina Santa’s Elves. We cut back to the arena with Ryback and Curtis Axel in the ring.
Rybaxel vs Tons of Funk
Tensai and Axel start off the match. Tensai hits a big shoulder block, but Axel bounces back with a dropkick. Ryback is tagged and hits a running cross body on Tensai. Tensai fights out and goes for a tag bur Brodus refuses to tag in. Ryback hits a Meat Hook and finishes Tensai off with the Shell Shock. Ryback goes for the cover and gets a 3 count.
Brodus hits 2 splashes on Tensai after the match. Truth and Woods come in the ring and hit a double dropkick on Brodus. R Truth and Woods tell Cameron and Naomi to dance with them but Brodus tells them to come with him. Cameron and Naomi dance with Woods and Truth as Brodus looks on frustrated.
CM Punk is on his way to the ring as his match is next. We are also told he has a message for The Authority.
We return with CM Punk making his way to the ring. CM Punk grabs a mic and says that for weeks he said The Shield would put them down in a 3 on 1 handicap. He then says he isn’t a Christmas guy and he doesn’t believe in miracles, but last night he took down the entire Shield. He says he knows it isn’t far from over, but he knows it isn’t about them. He can’t shake a feeling that someone wants to sweep him under the rug. He says he isn’t good with authority and it showed when he punched Triple H in his “stupid punch”. He then says before Triple H puts him in a 16 on 1 handicap match, he offers Triple H to come down and speak to him man to man. Shawn Michaels comes out instead.
CM Punk asks HBK if he has something to say. Shawn says he knows CM Punk should stop worrying about The Authority. HBK then says if anything he should have a problem with him. CM Punk says that he respects him and deep down the kid in him was happy because it is Shawn Michaels. But he warns him if he kicks him again, that he will kick him back. HBK responds saying he has always liked Punk, and it pained him more than it pained Punk last week to kick him. HBK then says this will pain him even more as he introduces Punks opponents; The Shield.
The Shield make their way to the ring as we cut to commercial.
CM Punk and The Usos vs The Shield
Ambrose and Jimmy Uso start the match. Jimmy hits a back body drop on Ambrose for a 2 count. Jey is tagged in and hits a forearm in the corner on Ambrose. Punk is tagged in but Ambrose makes his way to the corner and tags in Rollins. Jimmy Uso is tagged in and puts Rollins in a headlock. Rollins gets out but is taken down again. Jey is tagged back in and begins to isolate Rollins from his corner. Rollins gets some control as he hits knee to the gut on Jey. Jey clotheslines Rollins over the rope as he falls over as well. Both men are down as we head to commercial.
We return with Seth Rollins in control over Jey Uso. Jey tries to fight back but Rollins keeps him grounded. Rollins misses a big splash in the corner and Jimmy is tagged in. Jimmy hits a samoan drop and gets a 2 count. Rollins once again takes control and tags in Dean. Dean puts Jimmy in the headlock but Jimmy hits Ambrose with a jaw breaker. Ambrose hits Jimmy with an elbow however and keeps control of the match. Reigns is tagged in and takes Jimmy down with a big punch. Rollins is tagged in and hits a flurry of punches on Jimmy. Rollins puts Jimmy up on the top rope and goes for a superplex but Jimmy throws him off. Jimmy then hits a cross body and tries to make a tag to Punk. Reigns is tagged in and stops Jimmy and keeps The Shield in control.
Reigns puts Jimmy in a headlock as Punk tries to pump the crowd up. Jimmy fights out and hits Reigns in the head with a big kick and tags in Punk. Ambrose is tagged in and Punk begins his comeback on Ambrose and Rollins. Jimmy Uso takes out Reigns and Rollins takes out Jimmy on the outside. Punk however hits a Suicide Dive on Rollins. Punk goes to the top rope and hits an elbow drop on Ambrose in the ring. Punk goes for the GTS but takes Rollins off on the apron. Ambrose tags in Reigns without Punk knowing. Punk GTS’ Ambrose but Reigns spears him for the 3 count.
Winners: The Shield
We return from commercial with a Wyatt promo. Bray says that a fight against the machine would be a long process. Bray says that Bryan is a coward and that he gave him a chance to join him. Bray is shown speaking to “Abagail” and when they turn to “her” it is just an empty rocking chair. We cut to commercial.
We return with The Bellas and Natalya in the ring.
The Bella Twins and Natalya vs AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka, and Alicia Fox
Alicia and Natalya start the match off with Natalya reversing a backbreaker. Brie is tagged in and hits a hip top on Alicia. Alicia gains control after a big miss by Brie. Alicia puts Brie in a headlock. Tamina is tagged in and begins to beat down Brie in her corner. Tamina throws Brie in the corner and begins to choke her. Brie reverses Tamina into a roll up but only gets a 2 count. Tamina hits a big clothesline and puts Brie in a headlock. Tamina hits a samoan drop and tags in AJ. Brie hits a dropkick and tags in Nikki. Nikki begins her comeback and takes Alicia and Tamina off the apron. Tamina comes back in the ring and kicks Nikki straight in the face. AJ hits a Shining Wizard for the 3 count.
Winners: AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka, and Alicia Fox
We return with a preview of “Raw Christmas” for next week. We go backstage where Renee Young is interviewing Randy Orton. Orton is fuming and says everything is like Bizzaro World right now. He says Bryan doesn’t deserve to be Superstar of the Year, and the only thing that everyone in the WWE deserves to do is to bend over and to kiss his a**.
Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring as the Main Event is up next. We head to commercial break.
We return and are told Cody Rhodes and Goldust will face Luke Harper and Erik Rowan on Smackdown this Friday.
Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan
Orton and Bryan lock up in the middle of the ring and Bryan gets the upper hand. Orton is frustrated and goes to the outside to get a breather. He comes back in and they lock up again. Bryan takes control over Orton and hits him with an indian deathlock. Bryan goes for a cover for a 2 count. Orton goes to the outside to once again take a breather. Orton comes back in and takes control. Orton hits a snap suplex for a 2 count. Bryan fights back with multiple kicks to the leg of Orton. Bryan puts Ortons leg in the rope and dropkicks it. Bryan continues to work the leg, and goes for a cover that gains him a 2 count.
Orton and Bryan then exchange uppercuts, with Bryan winning the exchange with a knee to the gut. Bryan hits another knee to the sternum, and puts Orton in a modified figure four. Orton bites Bryan to get out of the hold, where the referee warns him. Orton is now in control after multiple headbutts in the corner. Orton goes for a Lou Thez press but Bryan rolls through into a single legged Boston Crab. Orton gets to the ropes and Bryan has to break the hold at 4. Orton hits a giant dropkick to take control once again. Orton kicks Bryan on the arm and Bryan screams in pain.
Bryan hits a big elbow after Bryan is bounced off the ropes, and then puts Bryan in an arm lock. Orton begins to stomp on the arm in the middle of the ring, where Bryan seems to be grounded. Orton poses and Bryan gets up and bites Randy in the face. Bryan clotheslines Orton to the outside and goes for the suicide dive. Orton moves out of the way and Bryan is down as we head to commercial.
We return with Orton in control. Orton has Bryan in a headlock, with the crowd trying to get behind Bryan. Bryan fights out but takes a knee to the gut. Bryan is taken down to the outside by Orton, and Orton is not going to wait in the ring. Orton throws Bryan into the steel post arm first, and then does a back body drop to Bryan on the barricade. Orton brings Bryan in the ring and goes for the cover. Bryan kicks out a 2 and Orton doesn’t seem flustered. Orton puts Bryan to the top rope and hits a superplex. Orton goes for the cover but only gets a two count.
Bryan begins to fight back and starts his comeback. Bryan goes for the running dropkick in the corner and connects. He goes for it for a second time and hits it again. Bryan puts Orton on the top rope and hits a hurricanrana. Bryan goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Orton gets momentum back with a back breaker. Orton takes his time and gets caught in the Yes Lock. Bryan can’t fully lock it in and Orton takes advantage. Orton sets Bryan up for the hangman DDT and hits it. Orton goes for the RKO but Bryan reverses it into a bridge for a two count. Bryan then kicks Orton in the head and goes to the top rope.
Orton hits Bryan from the top rope and goes up for another superplex. Bryan blocks it however and Orton falls to the mat. Bryan hits the diving headbutt for a 2 count. Bryan goes for the corner dropkick again but Orton moves out of the way. Orton rolls Bryan up but Bryan reverses it into the Yes Lock. Orton holds on and grabs the rope. Orton rolls to the outside and Bryan hits a suicide dive. Bryan brings Orton into the ring and hits a top rope missile dropkick. Bryan hits 4 kick to the chest and Orton ducks the head kick and goes low and is disqualified.
Winner (By DQ): Daniel Bryan
John Cena comes out for the save and checks on Bryan. Orton comes back in the ring and RKO’s John Cena. Orton hold ups both championships as Raw goes of the air.
