WWE Raw Results – January 12, 2015

– Tonight’s WWE RAW opens up with a look back at last week’s John Cena Appreciation Night.

– We’re live from New Orleans with Michael Cole, JBL and Booker T on commentary. We go right to the ring and John Cena makes his way to the ring as Lilian Garcia does the introduction.

Cena hits the ring and says it’s good to be back in the city that hosted WrestleMania XXX. Cena talks about bringing The Authority back and brings up how Triple H fired Erick Rowan, Dolph Ziggler and Ryback. He hopes The Authority is listening tonight. Cena asks if fans like Ziggler and they cheer. He asks if any of the Superstars deserved to be fired last week and they say no. Cena asks if fans want to see those Superstars on RAW tonight and they do. A big “yes!” chant starts. Cena says New Orleans has spoken. Cena tells everyone to get on social media and use the hashtag #AuthoritySucks right now. Cena says he’s going to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title and go home. He’s not coming back with the most coveted prize until The Authority brings back Ryback, Rowan and Ziggler. He wonders what this would do to RAW, SmackDown and WrestleMania, not having a title. Triple H’s music hits and out he comes with Stephanie McMahon.

Stephanie disses Cena’s hashtag campaign. Triple H says Cena knew the consequences for going to battle. They argue some more and Triple H says Cena will have a chance to redeem here. Triple H asks if fans want to see Ryback, Ziggler and Rowan get their jobs back. Fans cheer. Triple H asks Cena how bad does he want those Superstars brought back. Triple H says if Cena can win his match against Seth Rollins tonight, they get their jobs back. Triple H says it will be a Lumberjack Match. He brings out the Lumberjacks and says the match starts now. A number of heel Superstars including Kane, Big Show, Bad News Barrett, Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, Titus O’Neil and several others make their way down to the ring as we go to commercial.

Lumberjack Match: Seth Rollins vs. John Cena

Back from the break and the heels are surrounding the ring. Seth Rollins is out next with Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble as Cena waits in the ring.

They lock up and Cena goes to a headlock. The dueling chants for Cena start up. Cena goes to the floor and decks Barrett. He comes back in and Rollins takes control. Cena gets tossed to the floor and beat down by the lumberjacks. 2 count for Rollins. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Rollins is still in control. He slams Cena as the Lumberjacks applaud. Cena makes a comeback with shoulder tackles and the big slam. Rollins blocks the Five Knuckle Shuffle. More back and forth. Cena hits another slam and nails the Shuffle. Cena goes for an Attitude Adjustment and nails it. Mercury and Noble jump on the apron but get knocked off. The Lumberjacks pull Rollins to safety on the floor. Cena goes to the top and leaps out onto the group. Cena brings it back in the ring for a 2 count.

Rollins comes right back with a big knee to the face. Rollins with a 2 count. Rollins with more offense and another close 2 count. Cena ducks a clothesline. Rollins slides out of an AA. Rollins drops Cena on his face for another 2 count. Cena finally hits the AA but Mercury and Noble make the save. Cena is pulled to the floor and the Lumberjacks beat him down again. Cesaro with a big shot against the barrier. They roll Cena back in. Rollins goes for a Curb Stomp but Cena turns it into a STF. Kane grabs Rollins’ arm and drags him. Cena pulls Rollins’ legs. Rollins kicks Cena away. Big Show pulls Cena to the floor and knocks him out with a big punch. They roll Cena back in the ring and Rollins covers for the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins

– The announcers hype tonight’s Royal Rumble contract singing with Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Seth Rollins. Also, Daniel Bryan will be back in New Orleans. Back to commercial.

– Stephanie McMahon is backstage with Dean Ambrose and The Usos. She gets The Usos’ names mixed up. She wants to address some comments from SmackDown. She says Naomi will compete with one hand tied behind her back tonight and sends The Usos off. She addresses Ambrose next. She says he’s a threat to himself and others for checking out of the hospital last week on his own. A doctor walks in and will be evaluating Ambrose tonight. If Ambrose doesn’t pass, he won’t be in the Royal Rumble. Ambrose leaves with the doctor.

– We see The Miz and Damien Sandow backstage. They joke about the Golden Globe Awards and don’t say much at all.

– We go back to Ambrose and the doctor. The doctor says he wants to know what makes Ambrose’s clock tick. He tells Ambrose to sit back, relax and reflect. The doctor turns on a clock and it has Ambrose in a daze. We go to commercial.

– We get another segment with Ambrose and the doctor.

Cesaro and Tyson Kidd vs. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods

Back from the break and both teams wait in the ring as we get a replay from last week. Kofi sends Cesaro to the floor to start the match. Kofi leaps out and decks him, then decks Kidd. Kidd tags in and nails a big kick on Kofi. Kidd with an elbow off the top for a 2 count. Cesaro comes back in and they keep Kofi in their corner. Big E is at ringside. We see Adam Rose and the Rosebuds at ringside also.

Kofi fights back but Cesaro hits the Cesaro Swing and turns it into a double team move as Kidd comes off the top for a 2 count. More quick tags and double teaming by Cesaro and Kidd. Kofi sends Cesaro to the floor and kicks Kidd in the head. Woods finally gets the tag and unloads on Kidd. Woods with a big rolling chop out of the corner and kicks for Cesaro as he comes in. Rose gets on the apron and Woods charges. Rose jumps to the floor but Big E runs him over. Woods with a 2 count on Kidd. Kofi tags in with the big double team stomp on Kidd for the win.

Winner: The New Day

– After the match, The New Day celebrates in the ring.

– Cole hypes tickets going on sale this weekend for the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Cole mentions how Randy Savage is expected to be announced tonight. We go to a video of several current Superstars and Divas doing impersonations of The Macho Man.

– Still to come, the WWE World Heavyweight Title contract signing. Back to commercial.

– We come back and see video of Indianapolis Colts players impersonating Ric Flair. Flair is announced for next week’s RAW Reunion special.

– Big Show comes out and talks about being a giant. He brags about how on his first day on the job, he defeated Hulk Hogan for the World Heavyweight Title. Show talks about how people don’t want competition. Big Show talks about fans stabbing the new guy in the back at their jobs so they have job security. This brings him to Roman Reigns. Show says he doesn’t think of Reigns a competition. Show says Reigns is WWE’s version of the NBA’s New York Knicks, who are on a 15-game losing streak. Show goes on and fans chant “boring” again at him. Show says Reigns is a loser and if you’re a fan of his, then by proxy, you’re a loser too. Reigns’ music hits and out he comes through the crowd.

Reigns makes his way to the ring and Show exits, backing slowly up the ramp. Reigns asks where Show is going and says he thought he wasn’t a threat. Fans boo Show. Reigns says he’s not a threat to Show because he doesn’t want Show’s spot. Reigns tells a story inspired by Jack and the Beanstalk. Reigns planted seeds, climbed the stalk and found a golden goose and some other crap. Reigns’ cartoon promos aren’t working. Reigns also found a giant at the top of that stalk and kicked his teeth down his throat. Reigns has some more words for Big Show until Luke Harper’s music hits and out he comes. Show points Harper to the ring and follows him as we’ve got a match.

Luke Harper vs. Roman Reigns

Harper takes Reigns to the corner and goes to work on him. Reigns turns it around and unloads. Reigns with a big Samoan Drop. Reigns readies for a Superman punch but Harper rolls to the floor as Big Show looks on and smiles. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Reigns knocks Harper into the corner. Harper fights back with a kick and some forearm shots. Reigns blocks a suplex twice and slams Harper for a close 2 count. Reigns with a clothesline in the corner. Reigns runs the ropes but Harper hits a big dropkick. Reigns goes to the floor to regroup but Harper whips him into the barrier. Harper whips Reigns into the steel steps next. They come back in with Harper in control.

Harper with a big headbutt but Reigns comes back with elbows. Reigns with clotheslines in the corners. Reigns hits a neckbreaker for a 2 count. Reigns goes for a Samoan Drop but Harper rakes him in the eyes and hits a big boot for a 2 count. Reigns counters a powerbomb and hits a sideslam for a 2 count. Reigns goes for a Superman punch. Show throws his chair at the steps and distracts Reigns. Harper takes advantage and ends up hitting a huge sideslam for a 2 count. Reigns nails a Superman punch. Reigns goes outside of the ring and stares at Show before hitting the big apron dropkick on Harper. Show runs over but Reigns kicks him in the face from the apron. Harper superkicks Reigns for a close 2 count. Harper goes for the big spinning clothesline but Reigns nails a spear for the win.

Winner: Roman Reigns

– As soon as the bell hits, Big Show rushes the ring and attacks Reigns. Fans boo as Show picks Reigns up and talks trash to him. Show drops Reigns with a big knockout punch.

– We get a look back at John Cena and The Authority from earlier. Still to come, the Rumble contract signing. Also, Daniel Bryan will be here.

– We see Jimmy Uso backstage talking to Naomi and she’s upset about her match. Back to commercial.

– We come back to The Miz and Damien Sandow backstage. Sandow reveals he’s had a camera team filming Miz living his life for the past 6 months. Sandow calls it “Manhood: Coming to a Theater.” Miz just looks confused and creeped out.

Naomi vs. Alicia Fox

We go to the ring and Naomi is having her arm tied behind her back. Alicia Fox taunts her and jokes around before they make contact.

Naomi with a right hand and some offense before Alicia takes over and hits a backbreaker for a 2 count. We see The Usos watching backstage. Fox keeps control and toys with Naomi. Naomi finally makes a comeback and kicks Fox to the apron, then to the floor. Naomi follows and works Alicia over on the floor, with one arm. They come back in the ring and Fox hits a big kick. Fox then hits the scissors kick for the win.

Winner: Alicia Fox

– After the match, we see The Usos watching backstage and they’re not happy. We go to replays as Fox mocks Naomi some more.

– We get another segment with Ambrose and his doctor. The doctor shows Ambrose photos of various WWE stars and he has to say what comes to mind. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and out comes Paul Heyman with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Heyman says it’s good to be back at the scene of the crime. He shows us video of Lesnar ending The Undertaker’s Streak at WrestleMania XXX.

We come back and Heyman praises Lesnar, talking about how dominant he is. Heyman hypes tonight’s contract singing for the Royal Rumble and that’s about it. We go back to commercial.

– We get another video of Superstars and Divas impersonating Randy Savage.

The Miz vs. Jey Uso

We go to the ring and out comes The Miz and Damien Sandow. WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos are out next.

The Miz ends up getting a win with the Skull Crushing Finale after both Jimmy and Sandow got involved.

Winner: The Miz

– The announcers hype the WWE Network UK launch next week. Still to come, Daniel Bryan. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and out comes Daniel Bryan to a pop. They chant his name some and he says this feels familiar, giving a shout out to New Orleans. Bryan remembers… last time he was in New Orleans, he won the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania XXX. Bryan gets a bigger pop and a “yes!” chant starts up.

Bryan says he’s going to win the Royal Rumble this year and go on to win the WrestleMania main event again. Bryan doesn’t care what The Authority has to say… Stephanie McMahon’s music hits and out she comes.

Stephanie gives Bryan a copy of her WWE Fit Series DVD as a gift. She jokes on Bryan’s fitness level. Bryan doesn’t want the DVD. Stephanie shows us footage from April 2013 where Kane hit a Tombstone on the steel steps and Bryan had to be stretchered out, but not until Kane hit another tombstone on the announcers table. Stephanie says a real A+ player wins at WrestleMania and stays on top. She brings up his rough road to recovery. She insults Bryan some more and his “unborn box troll children.” Stephanie asks if Bryan really wants to dot his again. He says “yes!” and gets another chant going. Bryan tells her to do the chant too because it’s probably a better workout than her DVD. Bryan talks about how he’s had to fight and claw for any opportunity he’s ever been given. Bryan says no matter what The Authority does, he will never stop fighting and neither will the fans. Stephanie introduces Bryan’s opponent for SmackDown… Kane. Kane comes out and Bryan dropkicks him through the ropes. Kane takes control on the floor and sends him into the steps. Kane takes apart the steps for a Tombstone on top of them. Bryan counters and pushes Kane into the ring post. Bryan unloads on Kane with right hands. Referees break them up and Kane stumbles away but Bryan runs with the big knee. Bryan mounts Kane with more offense until he’s pulled off. Bryan goes in the ring but dives back out onto Kane, sending him into the barrier. More right hands from Bryan. Bryan goes into the ring and chants with fans.

– Brock Lesnar confronts Seth Rollins backstage and smirks at him. Lesnar asks if Rollins is the guy who beat John Cena earlier tonight. Rollins says he’s the future of WWE and gets in Lesnar’s face. Lesnar says he decides when the future begins. Paul Heyman walks up and says maybe the two of them can take Cena out at the Royal Rumble.

– Still to come, the Rumble contract signing. Back to commercial.

Brie Bella vs. Paige

Back from the break and Paige waits while The Bella Twins make their way out. Natalya and Tyson Kidd are also at ringside. They go at it and Paige unloads on the apron with knees. Brie turns it around and hits a running knee to the face. Brie with a missile dropkick for a 2 count. Brie with more offense and a chinlock.

More back and forth. Paige nails a kick for a 2 count. Kidd gets on the apron, distracting Paige. This allows Brie to get the win with a roll up.

Winner: Brie Bella

– After the match, The Bellas leave as Natalya yells at Kidd. Paige goes to the floor and slaps Kidd before walking off. Natalya leaves with a smirk on her face.

– We see John Cena backstage looking worried.

– Bray Wyatt is backstage talking about the Rumble match. Back to commercial.

– Randy Savage is officially announced for the WWE Hall of Fame. Hulk Hogan is confirmed to be his inductor.

The Ascension vs. Local Wrestlers

We go to the ring and out comes The Ascension as two local wrestlers wait in the ring.

They air a sidebar video of The Ascension saying they’re better than Powers of Pain, Demolition and The Road Warriors. They dominate their opponents and hit Fall of Man for an easy win.

Winners: The Ascension

– We go backstage and Ambrose is telling the doctor that they’ve made a lot of progress today. The camera zooms out and we see the roles are reversed – the doctor is on the couch crying about his life and Ambrose is taking notes. Ambrose tells the doctor to sign these papers from WWE and he will make sure the doc gets the help he needs. Ambrose tells him to hang in there. Once the paper is signed, Ambrose insults the doctor and walks off. He comes back and says yes, it is weird that the doctor sits down to pee. Ambrose leaves with the doctor crying again. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and out comes Lana with WWE United States Champion Rusev. Lana picks on Ryback and thanks The Authority for firing him. She thanks John Cena for failing to get Ryback’s job back. She disses Americans and a “USA” chant starts up. Rusev says Ryback is spineless and deserved to be fired. Rusev gets the “what?” treatment. Rusev is interrupted by the music and out comes Dean Ambrose to a pop.

Ambrose hits the ring and they brawl. Ambrose gets the upperhand and sends Rusev to the floor. Rusev throws a fit as we go to commercial.

Rusev vs. Dean Ambrose

Back from the break and they’re going at it as The Authority made a match. Ambrose unloads and hits a running bulldog. Ambrose goes to the top but has to land on his feet. Rusev charges but Ambrose unloads. Rusev dives and takes out the knee as Lana applauds.

Rusev works over Ambrose and drops elbows on his knee now. Ambrose comes back and tries to go up for a tornado DDT but Rusev tosses him. Ambrose blocks a kick and gets a 2 count. They trade shots now. Ambrose drops Rusev and goes to the top. Ambrose hits a big elbow drop for a 2 count. Rusev with more kicks in the corner. Ambrose fights back but Rusev drops him. Rusev with a kick and a knee to the head. Rusev turns Ambrose upside down in the corner and wails away with forearms to the knee. The referee unties Ambrose from the corner and calls for the bell because of Ambrose’s condition.

Winner: Rusev

– Ambrose argues with the referee and says his leg is fine. Ambrose hobbles to his feet and turns around to a big superkick from Rusev. The Russian flag drops down and Rusev poses over Ambrose with Lana.

– We see Seth Rollins backstage walking with The Stooges. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and The Authority is in the ring for the Royal Rumble contract signing. Triple H introduces Seth Rollins and John Cena. Stephanie introduces WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and out he comes with Paul Heyman.

Heyman speaks first about what’s happened with The Authority. He says what’s bad for John Cena is good for Brock Lesnar and what’s good for Lesnar is best for business. Rollins takes credit and Heyman says he wasn’t done yet. Heyman says Lesnar has conquered everything in his path and that will include what gets in his way at the Royal Rumble. Heyman says that’s the end of his statement. Rollins asks him if he’s upset it’s now a triple threat and Heyman admits he is because it could become a double cross. Heyman brings up how Lesnar doesn’t have to be pinned or submitted to lose the title. Rollins brags about what he’s done. Rollins says he’s walking out of the Rumble with the title. Heyman goes to take the mic but Lesnar cuts him off. Lesnar says he conquered The Undertaker, Triple H and Cena. Lesnar says he damn sure will conquer Rollins too. Cena takes a mic and says Lesnar is going to lose his gold at the Rumble. Cena says he and Lesnar are going to kick Rollins’ ass because they owe him beatdowns, and then Cena is going to kick Lesnar’s ass. Cena tells Lesnar to sign the contract and it’s on. Rollins says that sounds like an incredible plan but there’s one flaw – all of Cena’s plans don’t seem to be going how he imagines them. Rollins goes to attack Cena with the briefcase but Cena ducks. Lesnar comes from behind with a German suplex on Cena and one on Rollins. Cena puts Lesnar through the table with an Attitude Adjustment. Triple H distracts Cena, leading to Rollins nailing a Curb Stomp on Cena. Rollins then hits a big Curb Stomp on Lesnar. Rollins gets hype as his music hits.

– We cut to a quick preview for WWE’s Randy Savage DVD sneak peek, which will air on the WWE Network after RAW.

– We come back to the arena and see Lesnar trying to recover in the ring. The Authority looks on from the stage and Cena is still down outside of the ring. RAW goes off the air with Lesnar staring up at Rollins and The Authority.
