WWE Raw Results – March 24th, 2014
We open Raw with Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie says that Daniel Bryan won’t be here tonight. Stephanie says that most people are saying they went too far last week, and that she agrees. She then says she agrees but they needed to send a message to everyone in the locker room. She says they aren’t going to let a fad like the Yes Movement to create a false leader and lead to self destruction. She says that they did what they had to do because they are real leaders and that the fans need to be lead. She says that she born for this position and that she can handle all of the pressure. She then says that she wanted to remind Daniel Bryan who Triple H is, and that he will be the one walking out as champion. Out comes Randy Orton.
Orton says that he is not out to argue and disrespect her. He then says that he can’t be held responsible for what he has to do to Triple H and Batista. Randy Orton then suggests Triple H to walk away from the World title match so he leaves Wrestlemania a winner. Out comes Batista. Batista says that this is all driving him crazy. He says everyone is missing the big picture. He says that they are looking at the next World champion. He doesn’t care who he beats he will walk out with the championships. Batista says he respects Hunter but he has never beaten him. He then says he will not beat him at Wrestlemania, and neither will Randy Orton. He then says that Randy Orton has sucked up to both Hunter and Stephanie. He then says to stop drooling on Steph, but that she has been drooled on a lot. Stephanie slaps Batista and Orton laughs as Stephanie walks off. Batista then spears Orton as he holds up the titles and walks off.
We are told Michael Cole and Triple H will have a sit down interview in the ring tonight. We are also told Luke Harper will face John Cena tonight in a rematch from Smackdown. Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will also have a confrontation tonight. We head to commercial break.
Alberto Del Rio vs Christian vs Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus (#1 Contenders Match for Intercontinental Championship)
The match stars with Del Rio and Ziggler fighting in the ring, while Sheamus and Christian fight on the outside. Sheamus gets in the ring and Ziggler rolls him up for a 2 count. Sheamus and Ziggler then go at it with Ziggler hitting a knee. Sheamus then hits a blow to the head and then a knee of his own. Sheamus goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Ziggler then fights back and hits a dropkick. Christian and Del Rio then come in and take it to the faces.
Sheamus takes Christian out and Ziggler takes Del Rio down. Ziggler then gets rid of Sheamus and then hits a dropkick on Del Rio but only gets a 2 count. Christian then takes Ziggler to the outside and throws him on the barricade. Sheamus then clotheslines Christian over the barricade, taking both men out. All four men are down on the outside of the ring as we head to commercial break.
We return with Ziggler and Del Rio in the ring, with Del Rio in control. Sheamus then drags Del Rio in the ring and takes him out on the outside. Christian then takes out Sheamus and goes up top for a cross body. Ziggler rolls through but gets a 2 count. Christian then stays on the offensive and goes for a cover, but only gets a 2 count. Ziggler fights back but Christian throws him to the outside. Sheamus then comes in the ring and begins his comeback. Christian is then thrown to the outside and Del Rio takes the 10 blows to the chest by Sheamus. Sheamus then goes up top but Ziggler hits a big facebuster from the top but only gets a 2 count.
Ziggler then begins his comeback on Christian, and hits the DDT on Del Rio. Christian then hits a powerbomb but Del Rio kicks him. Sheamus then puts Del Rio in the Clover Leaf but hits Christian with a powerslam after. Sheamus then goes for the Brogue Kick but is caught in the arm breaker by Del Rio. Sheamus then powers out and Ziggler hits a Zig Zag! Christian then runs in and hits the KillSwitch on Ziggler for the 3 count!
Winner: Christian
Big E gets in the ring and offers a handshake but Christian walks away.
Bray Wyatt goes on screen for a promo. Bray says people believe in things they can’t see or touch. He says for John Cena we all see him. He says how could we miss him when he is shoved down our throats. He then asks if Cena sees him for what he truly is. He says how can he harm something that just cant feel. Harper says he can hear Cena whispering, and now they are coming to find him. Bray says run and we cut to commercial.
We get a sneak peak of “Scooby Doo’s Wrestlemania Mystery”. Sin Cara comes out to Scooby Doo.
Damien Sandow vs Sin Cara
Sin Cara starts off hitting a springboard headbutt and multiple hurricanranas. Sin Cara then hits an elbow to head and a kick to the head. Sin Cara goes up top and hits the Senton Bomb for the 3 count.
Winner: Sin Cara
Sin Cara celebrates with Scooby Doo after the match.
We get a video package of the Shield being beat down on Smackdown that was set up by Kane and the Authority. This leads us to a commercial break.
Los Matadores vs Ryback and Curtis Axel
Axel and Fernando start the match off, but out comes the Shield from the crowd. Fernando rolls up Axel and gets the 3 count.
Winners: Los Matadores
The Shield then surround Rybaxel and take them both out. Reigns hits a spear on Ryback and the Shield hit a triple powerbomb on Ryback. The Shield stand tall over Ryback and deliver their own form of justice.
We are told that Michael Cole’s sit down interview with Triple H will happen up next after the commercial break.
We return and are told the Hall of Fame will be live on the WWE Network.
We go to the ring with Michael Cole, where he introduces Triple H. Cole welcomes Hunter, and says that they usually do this on WWE.com, but they both agreed to do this live on Raw. Michael Cole then shows a replay of what Triple H did to Daniel Bryan last week. Cole asks Hunter how he could justify his actions on Daniel Bryan last week. Triple H asks how he wants to answer it as: the COO or a competitor. He says everyone was clear on what they wanted, and that was a match between him and Bryan. He asks Cole if he has ever been in a situation where you feel completely hopeless and have to give in. Hunter says he is talking about Occupy Raw. Hunter says that what he did was heinous and despicable where Bryan does something that puts fans in danger and its just a great Raw moment. Hunter says Bryan wanted a match with the Game where he didn’t want to fight him. Triple H says the people wanted him as a competitor and last week that’s what they got.
He says when he was a full time competitor he did despicable things and everyone else wanted the same thing. He says now when he looks at the competitors they are soft and just cry that they didn’t get what they want. He says that he is sick of it and its on him and that he will begin the Reality Era. He says that at Wrestlemania he will end the Yes Movement and win the championship, and that no one holding on to the glory or anyone with the untapped potential is going to stop him. He then says that the reality is that he is walking out with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H then walks off.
We are reminded of the Lesnar and Taker confrontation tonight, as well as Luke Harper vs John Cena. We then head to commercial.
Fandango vs Cody Rhodes
Cody and Fandango lock up, with Cody talking control. Cody rolls him up but only gets a 2 count. Cody tries to go for a roll up again but Fandango blocks it. Fandango hits a spring board leg drop but gets a 2 count. Fandango the locks up a headlock. Cody gets out and tries to fight back and he gets thrown over the rope. Cody lands on the apron however and hits a springboard dropkick but only gets a 2 count. Both men run into each other and Goldust begins to mock Summer Rae. Fandango is distracted and Cody hits the disaster kick for the 3 count.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
We get a preview of the movie Sabotage. We are told that Joe Manganiello, Hulk Hogan, and Arnold Schwarzenegger will all be on Raw next.
We return and out comes Hulk Hogan. Hogan says that he doesn’t mean to be all nostalgic, but he wants to let everyone know that Wrestlemania is only two weeks ago. He says that in this city they made history, and the crowd erupts. Hogan says that he is extremely excited for Wrestlemania, and that he is excited for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He then says he is excited for the guests of Raw and welcomes them to the ring.
Both men pander to the crowd, where Arnold talks about inducting Bruno, and Joe talks about being excited hosting Raw, and being in the ring with two legends. Arnold then asks if there are two more spots available in the battle royal. Out comes the Miz. Miz asks if people really want them in the Battle Royal and they say Yes. Miz says that they are both actors and they play tough guys. Miz says that he is a tough guy and that he is no act. He says that he will win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Hogan says that he is standing in the ring in the middle of Hogan Country. Miz says that people still talk about him main eventing Wrestlemania, and that none of them belong in the ring. The three of them beat up Miz and Hogan throws him over the top rope.
Taker and Brock are being hyped up as we head to commercial.
Titus O’Neil vs Big Show
Big Show starts off with a few chops the chest, before Titus takes him down to his knees. Titus then begins to kick Big Show repeatedly in the head and then hits a leg drop for a two count. Titus then hits two splashes, which is followed by a shoulder block for a 2 count. Titus then tries to hit a clothesline but is caught with a spear. Big Show then hits the KO Punch for the 3 count.
Winner: Big Show
Big Show walks out being hyped as the favorite for the Battle Royal.
We go backstage with The Shield and Triple H and Stephanie. Rollins asks where he was and Dean asks where they all stand. Triple H says that everything between Kane and them is their business and not theirs. They then give The Shield a match against the Real Americans tonight on Raw.
We then go to the backstage with Cena getting ready, where he sees the Wyatt’s sheep mask at the door. He turns around and it is not there. This leads into the commercial break.
John Cena vs Luke Harper
Harper starts off with a bunch of headbutts. Harper then whips Cena into the corner, and hits with an uppercut. Harper goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Cena tries to fight back but Harper hits a backbreaker for a 2 count. Cena begins to fight back, but Harper hits a big shoulder block, as well as a back suplex. Harper goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Harper then throws Cena to the outside in front of Bray. Harper goes to the outside and continues the attack. Harper then brings him in the ring and hits a big elbow as we head to commercial.
We return with Luke Harper in control over Cena. Cena gets out of the headlock but Harper hits an atomic drop as well as a big boot. Harper then goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Harper then hits a couple of uppercuts before Cena hits a German Suplex. Cena then goes for the AA but Harper gets out and hits a nasty looking super kick for a 2 count. Harper then goes for his clothesline but Cena reverses into a modified back suplex. Cena then goes for the 5 knuckle shuffle but Harper kicks him in the head and hits a power slam for a two count.
Harper then goes for a powerbomb but Cena hits a hurricanrana and goes for the STF, but is powered out by Harper, and falls to the outside. Harper then hits a suicide dive on Cena! Harper gets back in the ring and is caught in the STF! Harper rakes the eyes and gets out, and follows it with a DDT. Harper goes for another cover but only gets a 2 count. Harper puts Cena onto the top rope and hits a big upper cut. Cena however powers out of Harper and drops Harper off the turnbuckle. Cena then hits a big leg drop from the top rope but only gets a 2 count.
Cena then hits the 5 knuckle shuffle and goes for the AA, but Harper gets out and throws Cena down face first on the mat. Harper goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Harper goes for his running clothesline but Cena hits a clothesline of his own instead! Cena then goes for AA and the lights go out! The lights come back on and Cena is tied up on the ropes with the sheep mask on him.
Winner (By DQ): John Cena
The Wyatt Family surround Cena as Bray hovers over him, screaming to the people “Follow the Buzzards”. This cuts in a commercial break.
We return and are reminded that Christian and Big E will compete for the IC Title on Main Event. We are then given a recap of John Cena being taken down by the Wyatts.
Naomi vs AJ Lee
AJ mocks Naomi and Naomi hits a dropkick. Naomi then hits a nasty kick, and then goes for the Rear View but AJ rolls out of the ring. AJ then says she doesn’t need this and she gets counted out.
Winner: Naomi
Vickie comes out and said that she has a lot of history, and that she will forget all of it, but that AJ is a real b****! She then says she is competing at Wrestlemania against every WWE Diva on the roster! AJ begins to freak out while Tamina then begins to smile knowing the opportunity she was just given.
We are given a recap of Undertaker and Paul Heyman on Main Event last week. The next inductee into the Hall of Fame will be announced next. We then go to commercial.
We return and are told that Scott Hall is the final inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame!
We are shown a replay of the opening segment of Raw. We are told that Batista will face Randy Orton next week on Raw!
Big Show will face Bray Wyatt Friday Night on Smackdown.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs The Real Americans
Ambrose and Rollins attack Real Americans before entering the ring. Dean takes it to Cesaro and throws him in the ring, starting the match. Cesaro and Dean exchange blows in the corner of the ring, with Dean taking advantage. Seth is tagged in and hits a double team neckbreaker for a two count. Swagger is tagged in and Rollins hits 3 straight suplexes, with Dean tagging in and making the final suplex a double. Dean hits a flurry of punches, and follows it with a dropkick. Rollins is then tagged in and hits a dropkick of his own.
Ambrose is tagged in and hits a clothesline for a two count. Ambrose is distracted by Cesaro and Swagger hits a big slam on Ambrose. Cesaro is tagged in and begins a flurry of uppercuts. Cesaro then hits a double footstomp, and tags in Swagger. Swagger hits a belly to belly but only gets a two count. Swagger then hits the Swagger Bomb, and then tags in Cesaro. Cesaro then hits the leap frog footstomp for a two count. Swagger is tagged in but Ambrose fights back and hits an elbow from the top. Ambrose goes for the tag but Cesaro is tagged in and takes out Rollins. Cesaro then hits the Cesaro Swing on Dean.
Cesaro goes for the cover but Rollins breaks it up. Cesaro tags in Swagger and they both toss Dean into the barricade. The Real Americans stand tall as we go to commercial break. We return with Swagger in control over Dean. Dean tries to fight back but it is halted immediately. Cesaro is tagged in and puts Dean in a headlock. Cesaro is rolled up by Dean but only gets 2. Dean is slapped by Cesaro and asks for more. Cesaro hits a big kick and Dean follows it with a clothesline. Rollins is finally tagged in as is Swagger.
Rollins begins his comeback, hitting a big splash, and following it with taking Swaggers face right into the turnbuckles. Rollins then knocks Swagger to the outside, hitting a Suicide Dive on Cesaro, and a Flip on the other side on Swagger. Rollins gets in the ring and hits a kick on Swagger, with Cesaro breaking up the pin. Cesaro and Dean take each other out, and Rollins is put in the Patriot Lock. Rollins gets the ropes, and hits a big kick! He then hits the Piece of Mind for the 3 count.
Winners: Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins
Reigns takes out Cesaro with a spear to the outside, and then they hit a triple powerbomb on Cesaro onto the announce table! The Shield stand tall in the middle of the ring, but out comes Kane and the New Age Outlaws. Kane says that they have been assigned a Wrestlemania match against them! Kane says they will annihilate them, and they should believe that.
Brock Lesnar is on his way to the ring with Paul Heyman after the commercial break!
We go to the ring and out comes Brock Lesnar. Heyman introduces himself and that he is here for Brock Lesnar. Heyman says that Undertaker has one of the most accomplished records in all of sports entertainment. He says its not just a streak, but an undefeated streak. Heyman says that when Lesnar beats Undertaker, it will not take away from Undertakers legacy. No one will be able to go 21-0 ever again, including Brock Lesnar. He says the only way to gain immortality is to break the Undertaker’s streak. Brock grabs the mic and tells Heyman enough. Brock says he is not here to promote, but he is here to fight. Brock says they are both here and that they should fight right now. Out comes the druids. With the druids they bring a casket.
The casket is put to the side of the ring and the druids go away. Brock goes up to the casket and kicks it, as Heyman says that they should just leave. Lesnar finally decides to open the casket and nothing is in there. Lesnar leaves the ring and asks if this is funny. He begins to lead the druids away. Lesnar gets back in the ring and says he is not here to play games and that he is leaving. Heyman says that Undertaker shows up to Brooklyn but wont show up to the fight. And then the casket opens again!
Undertaker then goes at it with Brock, where Taker clotheslines him over the ropes and over the casket. Lesnar retreats and points at the sign, with Undertaker standing tall in the middle of the ring to close Raw.
