WWE Raw Results – May 19th, 2014

We open Raw with Bray Wyatt in the ring singing with the crowd. He says that this moment right now is real and he wants to share it with the people. He asks the crowd to sing with him and they do. He says that at night we think of all our problems, but in our dreams we can fix anything. He then says we wake up and reality kicks in. He says that you realize you can’t fix everything and you just pretend that everything is okay but he says nothing is okay. He says people look down at him and then says that he stands here today as a revolutionary and that he has the whole world in his hands now. The crowd then sings. Bray then says that them singing is his Payback. He says that people get behind him because he offers hope where John Cena wants to watch everything die. He says that John Cena plays hero when everything around him burns. He says at Payback he will be the last man standing, but tonight Luke Harper will take out Cena. Cena then comes out and Harper and Rowan wait at the ramp. Cena comes from behind and AA’s Bray. Cena then escapes and stands tall.

We are told that Daniel Bryan underwent successful neck surgery, and that he will be returning sometime soon. We then get a video recap of Stephanie’s promo last week on Daniel Bryan, as well as the attack from Kane on Bryan. The state of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be revealed later tonight on Raw. We head to commercial break.

We return with Paul Heyman and Cesaro in the ring. Heyman says that they are the stars and that the fans are wannabes. He says the people should worship the ground he stands on. He then lies on the ground and says that he is the Undertaker, except that he can sit up. He then says Cesaro will take out Sheamus tonight, and out comes Sheamus. Their match is next.

Cesaro vs Sheamus

Cesaro and Sheamus lock up, with Sheamus being pushed into the corner. Cesaro slaps Sheamus, and Sheamus then goes nuts. Cesaro goes to the outside, and Sheamus follows. Cesaro catches Sheamus in the ring, but Sheamus fights back with a clothesline. Sheamus then puts Cesaro in the ropes and hits him with 10 blows to the chest. Cesaro then rolls to the outside and talks strategy with Heyman again. Sheamus then gets caught and takes a flurry of uppercuts in the corner. Sheamus fights back with a running knee, and then hits the Battering Ram for a 2 count. Sheamus goes for a shoulder block, but misses and falls to the outside. Sheamus is down as we head to commercial break.

We return with Cesaro in control, hitting a bunch of uppercuts. Cesaro then puts Sheamus into a headlock.  Sheamus however gets out, and tries to do his comeback sequence, but Cesaro halts it immediately. Cesaro then hits a superplex for a 2 count. Sheamus then catches Cesaro into the Irish Curse, but Sheamus can only get a 2 count out of it. Sheamus then hits a high knee and a rolling senton but again gets a 2 count. Cesaro then hits a uppercut to the back and then throws Sheamus into the turnbuckle. Sheamus fights back and goes up top. Sheamus goes for the Battering Ram from the top but is hit with an uppercut! Cesaro goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Cesaro lifts Sheamus up but Sheamus knocks him down. Sheamus then hits a powerslam for a 2 count. Heyman then goes on the apron and Sheamus is distracted. Cesaro then hits a German Suplex from behind into a bridge and Cesaro gets the 3 count.

Winner: Cesaro

Sheamus offers a handshake and Cesaro pretends to go in for it, but dodges it and walks away with Heyman.

We get a video package of Evolution and The Shields attack on one another from last week on Raw. Seth Rollins will face Batista tonight, with the Shield and Evolution banned from ring side. We go to commercial break.

Beat The Clock Challenge – Big E vs Ryback

Both men lock up, with Ryback hitting a shoulder block and going for a quick cover. Big E then hits a shoulder block of his own but Ryback gets up immediately and tries to contain Big E. Big E however keeps control with a shoulder thrust in the corner. Big E bounces off the ropes, but Ryback catches him with an elbow to the face. Ryback however is hit with a belly to belly, and is covered for a 2 count. Ryback gets an upper hand via a distraction, and then follows it up with a suplex for a 2 count. Ryback hits another shoulder block, with 3 and a half minutes passing on in this match. Ryback then hits a spinebuster but Big E kicks out at 2. Ryback then hits the Meat Hook, but only gets a 2 count. Big E however gets up and hits a clothesline of his own, and then takes out Axel. Big E then hits the Big Ending for the 3 count.

Winner: Big E (5:02)

We are reminded that John Cena will face Luke Harper tonight.

Fandango and Layla come out for a mixed tag match until Summer Rae comes out. Summer kisses Fandango, and then goes after Layla. Layla is dragged out by Fandango, as Summer Rae stands tall in the ring.

The state of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be addressed next on Raw.

We return to Raw and Daniel Bryan’s music hits. Out comes Stephanie McMahon instead doing the Yes chants. Stephanie says tonight everyone should chants Yes, as he underwent successful surgery. She says he has an incredible story, but they need an active champion.  She says that she has some bad news and that she is contemplating stripping Daniel Bryan of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. She then lists a bunch of names but then says she is not going to strip Daniel Bryan of the championship. She says that she wants Daniel Bryan to show up next week and surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship because that is what is best for business.

Luke Harper vs John Cena as well as Seth Rollins vs Batista will happen later tonight on Raw. We head to commercial break.

Heath Slater vs Rusev

Slater tries to hit a cross body, but Rusev catches him and throws him down. Rusev gets rid of the rest of the Union Jacks, and then rolls Slater into the ring. Slater fights back but Rusev throws Heath into the ground, and then locks in the Accolade. Heath has no choice but to tap.

Winner: Rusev

We go backstage with The Shield. Dean says that Evolution bringing 20 guys on them means they are afraid of them. Ambrose says that they want a real fight, and then the camera zooms in on Reigns stitches. Reigns then asks again if this is all they got, and if it is then they are in real trouble. Rollins then says that 2 weeks ago he made too many mistakes and got caught against Batista. He says tonight he will make none and that they have to believe that. We head to commercial break.

Beat The Clock Challenge – Alberto Del Rio vs Rob Van Dam

Both men lock up, with RVD going for quick roll ups that all get 2 counts. Del Rio however catches RVD with a kick to the head to gain control. RVD however hits a monkey flip, until being taken out again with a kick to the head. Del Rio goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. RVD is then put into a headlock but Del Rio. RVD however gets out and begins his comeback. RVD hits a leg drop but only gets a 2 count. Del Rio then gets up and hits a backstabber for a 2 count. Del Rio calls for the cross armbreaker but RVD gets out. RVD then hits the Rolling Thunder, and then goes on top for the 5 star. RVD misses and is rolled up for a 2 count. Del Rio then hits a high kick, and then covers RVD but only gets a 2 count. Del Rio goes for the super kick but RVD ducks it and rolls Del Rio up for the 3 count.

Winner: Rob Van Dam (4:15)

We are shown a replay of the opening segment from Raw tonight. We then go backstage with John Cena.  John Cena says his game plan for tonight is to even the odds, which is why he is bringing the Usos. He says that he lives for desperation, and that at Payback he will never give up.

We then go backstage with Evolution, where they talk about singling out the Shield. Orton says that maybe that will teach them their lesson, but Triple H says it can start tonight. He tells Batista to finish Rollins tonight, and he says he will, all by himself. We go to commercial break as that match is up next.

Mark Henry will face Cesaro on Main Event tomorrow night.

Triple H comes out and is announced as the special ring announcer. He then says that Randy Orton is the special guest time keeper. Since they are official personnel they can stay at ringside. Rollins then says that he has special guests of his owns. He says that Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are the special guest commentators!

Seth Rollins vs Batista

The match starts with Batista hitting a clothesline, but Rollins fights back and beats Batista down in the corner. Rollins hits a kick to the head as Batista is down. This leads into a commercial break.

We return with Batista in control over Rollins. Rollins is thrown into the steel steps, and then fights his way into the ring. Batista hits a running dropkick, that forces Rollins to the outside. Rollins is then thrown back in the ring, and is covered for a 2 count. Rollins is then put into a headlock. Rollins gets outs, but then is hit with a wicked elbow, turning Rollins inside out. Batista goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Batista then begins to choke Rollins in the ropes, and then puts him on the top turnbuckle. Rollins however fights back and hits a rolling senton into a neckbreaker from the top rope. Rollins then runs at Batista, but is hit with a big boot. Rollins however fights back and takes down Batista. Rollins then hits a dropkick that knocks Batista to the outside. Rollins then hits a suicide dive taking Batista out.

Orton then distracts Rollins, which leads to Ambrose and Reigns getting off the headsets and getting closer to the action. Batista then hits a spinebuster, and then goes for the spear. Rollins however hits a kick to the head, and then hits the springboard knee for a 2 count. Rollins goes up top but Triple H knocks Rollins off when the ref wasn’t looking. Everything begins to break loose on the outside. Rollins is then taken down by Batista, causing a DQ.

Winner:  Seth Rollins

Ambrose takes out Triple H on the outside, and Reigns hits a spear on Batista in the ring. The Shield goes for the Triple Powerbomb on Batista but Batista sneaks out and Evolution retreats. The Shield stands tall.

We reminded that Luke Harper vs John Cena is the main event tonight. We go to commercial break.

Alicia Fox vs Paige

Alicia starts with a wicked kick to the head, but Paige gets up and hits one of her own. Paige then begins to toss Alicia Fox around the ring, to crowds liking. Alicia then gets out of the ring, and Paige follows. Alicia however catches Paige, throwing her into the barricade. Paige is then rolled into the ring, and is covered for a 2 count. Alicia then hits a couple knees to the head, and then follows it with  a backbreaker. Alicia goes for another cover but only gets a 2 count. Paige then fights back and hits the Paige Turner, but Alicia kicks out at 2. Alicia then hits a backbreaker, and then puts Paige in the middle of the ropes and kicks her in the head. Alicia makes the cover and gets the 3 count.

Winner: Alicia Fox

The camera cuts for a Wyatt Family promo. Harper says that Cena is playing a dangerous game. Bray says that Cena brought reinforcements, but they are like dominoes, where one by one, they will fall. The camera then cuts as we head to commercial break.

Beat the Clock Challenge – Mark Henry vs Dolph Ziggler

The match starts with Ziggler trying to take the big guy down, but Henry knocking him down immediately. Ziggler is then taken down with a shoulder block. Ziggler is then hit with a power slam, and then goes for a cover but only gets a 2 count. Ziggler falls to the outside, and Henry hopes for Ziggler to be counted out. Ziggler gets back in the ring, and hits an elbow to the face. Ziggler then hits a fame-asser, but only gets a 2 count. Ziggler then hits a dropkick, knocking Henry down. Ziggler then hits a second dropkick, and then goes for a cover that only gets a 2 count. Ziggler is then caught and hits a powerslam. Ziggler then reverses a WSM and hits the Zig Zag. The clock however runs out.

Draw

Rob Van Dam comes out to celebrate, but Barrett comes out and hits a Bullhammer from behind. Barrett says that RVD gets bad news because he is facing him at Payback. He says that come Payback, there is no chance he will lose to a “bloody yank”.

We return with a replay of Stephanie’s announcement regarding the state of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Renee Young is in the ring, and she said her guest at this time is Adam Rose. Rose comes in the ring, Renee asks what being a rosebud means, and Rose says it means not being a lemon. Renee asks why he is targeting Swagger, and Rose says he just doesn’t want them to be lemons. Out comes Colter and Swagger. Colter and Swagger get in the ring. Colter says Rose is the problem in his country, and if he stays in England he will become the problem here. He says at least he fits better with the freaks in England then in America. Zeb then challenges Adam Rose! Rose tells everyone to leave the ring, and Swagger attacks Rose from behind. Swagger intimidates everyone in the ring, and then Rose attacks Swagger! Rose gets Swagger out of the ring, and stands tall with Swagger and Colter retreating.

We are told our main event is up next. We go to commercial break.

Hulk Hogan will be on Smackdown this Friday. Bo Dallas will also debut this Friday.

Luke Harper vs John Cena

Harper starts by pushing Cena into the corner, and then throwing Cena to the ground. Harper then whips Cena into the turnbuckle, but Cena bounces back with a bulldog and a kick to the face. Harper however dodges Cena and hits a back suplex for a 2 count. Harper is in control as we head to commercial break.

We return with Harper in control over Cena. Cena tries for his comeback, but runs into a big boot when going for the shoulder block. Harper then hits a snap suplex for a 2 count. Cena gets up and hits a back suplex, but Harper gets up and hits a German Suplex for a 2 count. Harper goes for a big boot in the corner, but Cena ducks and Harper falls out of the ring. Harper then gets in the ring and is caught with a suplex and a 5 knuckle shuffle. Cena then goes for the AA but Harper gets out and throws Cena face first. Harper then hits a hurricanrana into a dropkick! Harper then hits a suicide dive on the outside! Cena however fights back and hits a Tornado DDT. Harper however gets up and hits a super kick on Cena! Harper goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Harper then hits a modified neckbreaker for a 2 count. Cena however fights back with a clothesline, and then locks in the STF on Harper. Harper however reaches the ropes. The Usos then take out Rowan, but Bray hits the Sister Abagail on both Usos! Cena then takes out Bray, and then hits the AA on Harper. Rowan comes in however and beats down Cena.

Winner: John Cena

Cena tries to fight back, but he runs right into a Sister Abagail. The crowd begins to sing as Bray says to punish him more. Harper and Rowan begin to drag Cena onto the stage. Rowan hits a fallaway slam on the stage. Bray then hits the Sister Abagail on Cena on the stage. Bray grabs the mic and begins to sing, as Harper counts to 10 in front of a fallen Cena. The camera cuts and the show closes.
