WWE Raw Results – September 8th, 2014

We open Monday Night Raw with a preview with what we will be getting tonight. Jerry Springer will try and resolve the issues between the Bellas, as well as Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton. Paul Heyman also has a warning for John Cena.

Raw is getting kicked off with Bray Wyatt vs Chris Jericho in a Steel Cage.

Steel Cage Match – Chris Jericho vs Bray Wyatt

Jericho and Bray lock up, with Jericho fighting Bray off and then unloading on him with a bunch of fists. Bray however fights off back with a shoulder block, and is in control until Jericho gets back and hits a dropkick. Bray tries to escape but Jericho immediately pulls him away from the door. Bray then hits an uppercut to try and gain some offense, but Bray gets caught with a high kick to the head. Jericho makes the cover but Bray kicks out at 2. Bray gets back in it with a headbutt, and then hits a running splash in the corner. Jericho is then thrown across the ring but then begins to climb the cage. Bray however gets him down and then throws Jericho into the steel. Bray then hits a splash on Jericho that sandwiches him in between Bray and the cage. Bray looks over Jericho as we go to commercial break.

We return with Bray hitting a running shoulder block on Jericho. Bray then begins to climb the steel cage. Jericho however stops him and throws him down onto the mat. Jericho then begins his comeback and hits a running bulldog. Jericho then hits the Lionsault, and then goes for the Walls of Jericho! Bray rolls out, but Jericho then throws Bray into the steel. Jericho then follows that with a springboard dropkick. Jericho then begins to climb. Bray follows, and then both men begin to go off on each other on the top rope. Bray ends up getting the advantage and takes control with a superplex! Bray then begins to spider walk to the cage door! Jericho however stops Bray and then goes for the Walls of Jericho again! Bray again reverses it, and then hits a modified Side Walk Slam for a 2 count. Bray then tries to launch Jericho into the cage, but Jericho holds on and begins to climb. Bray follows but Jericho stops Bray and then hits a hurricanrana from the top rope! Jericho then begins to climb but the Wyatts are on the outside waiting. Jericho then looks at Bray and then hits a cross body from the top of the cage! Jericho begins to crawl to the cage door, and is half way out before Bray grabs him. Both men teeter on the outside of the cage, with Bray attacking the injured knee before falling to the outside.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

After the match Bray throws Jericho back into the ring. Harper keeps the cage door closed as Bray hits the Sister Abagail. Bray stands tall over Jericho.

We go backstage with Rollins, Kane, Orton and Triple H. Orton says to Triple H that he wants to do something to Roman Reigns tonight that makes what Seth Rollins did to Dean Ambrose look like nothing. Triple H says he gives Orton permission to do whatever he wants. We go to commercial break.

We return with Dolph Ziggler in the ring. Dolph says that last week was a very controversial week in Hollywood, as many celebrities photos were leaked. He says no one deserved that, except for the Miz. He then shows a couple of embarrassing photos before Miz comes out with Sandow. Miz says that if he goes any further, he will sue him and make sure he never works again. Ziggler still shows the final photo and it is Miz naked getting spray tanned by Sandow. Sandow gets in the ring and Ziggler takes him out. Ziggler stands tall as Miz retreats. We go to commercial break.

AJ Lee and Paige vs Natalya and Rosa Mendez

Paige and Natalya start the match off. Natalya and Paige begin to chain wrestle, with Natalya getting the advantage and then tagging in Rosa. Paige however gets the advantage back, and then begins to hit vicious headbutts. Paige then goes to tag in AJ, but then backs off and continues the assault. AJ then grabs Paige and then tags herself in. AJ locks in the Black Widow and Rosa taps out.

Winners: AJ Lee and Paige

Paige complains to AJ after the match, and then AJ takes the title from Paige. AJ then kisses the title and then hands it back to Paige. Paige then kisses the title and then holds it over AJ. AJ smiles and then skips away. Paige tells her to get back in the ring as she skips off.

We are shown a replay of Bray Wyatt vs Chris Jericho. We go backstage with Jericho getting his knee checked on. Orton then comes from behind and assaults Jericho in the back. Orton screams asking Jericho if everything was handed to him now. Orton walks away with Jericho screaming in pain. We go to commercial break.

We go to the ring with Paul Heyman. Heyman says that Lesnar told him to come to Raw to deliver the WWE Universe some information. Out comes John Cena. Cena says if he wants to say something then he can do it now because he is right here. Heyman says before Summerslam, Cena was the greatest WWE Champion of all time, and now he is going to tell him how to beat Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions. Cena says he already knows how to defeat him. Cena says he will never give up and that he will make sure of that come Night of Champions. Heyman then laughs and says that Cena can’t help but be Cena. He says that Cena is influenced by the crowd, but Brock only hears the referee, himself, and his opponent who is suffering.

Heyman says Cena just have to give in. He says that he knows that when the fans get on his case that it bothers him. He says that he knows that he wants to just tell them to shut up, and then Heyman begins to plead for Cena to just give up.  Heyman says only then when he gives in will he be able to defeat Brock Lesnar. Heyman says he believes in Cena to do that, but Lesnar doesn’t. Cena then begins to listen to the crowd, but then tells Heyman to shut up. He says that he knows what Heyman is doing, and that he wants to end John Cena. Cena says that he is always going to be him, because he likes being him. Cena says he likes being the guy who is idolized by the kid with his dad, even though the dad doesn’t like him. He then says he is giving Heyman seven days. Cena says that Heyman better bring his beast to fight, or Cena will be fighting him! Cena walks away as Heyman looks on. We go to commercial break.

Seth Rollins vs Sheamus

Rollins and Sheamus lock up, with Sheamus immediately going on the offensive. Rollins rolls to the outside and tries to take a breather. Rollins gets back in the ring, and Sheamus continues to lay a beat down on Rollins. Sheamus hits a suplex and then makes a cover for a 2 count. Rollins finally gets back in it with an attack on the knee. Sheamus however hits a rolling senton and then knocks Rollins to the outside. Out comes Cesaro as Sheamus looks on. We go to commercial break.

We return with Rollins in control over Sheamus. Cesaro is now at ringside. Rollins runs for a splash in the corner, but Sheamus gets his feet up. Sheamus then hits a battering ram from the top rope. Rollins however dodges a shoulder thrust in the corner, and then hits a high knee. Rollins then puts Sheamus in a headlock, but Sheamus gets out and takes Rollins down. Sheamus then begins his comeback. Cesaro then grabs the title, and Sheamus is now distracted. Rollins then goes for a roll up but Sheamus kicks out. Sheamus gets distracted again and Rollins takes advantage with a dropkick to the back. Rollins then hits the curb stomp for the 3 count.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Cesaro gets in the ring and then mocks Sheamus. Cesaro then hits the Neutralizer and stands tall with the United States title. We go to commercial break.

We return and are shown replays of the Mark Henry and Rusev feud so far. Mark Henry vs Rusev is now confirmed for Night of Champions. Lana comes out and says that most people don’t know that the national anthem was written in Baltimore. She then mocks the American anthem, and then play the Russian Anthem.

We are given a video package for NXT Takeover this Thursday.

Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn will team up against Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze after the commercial break.

Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn vs Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze 

Sami and Breeze start the match off. Zayn starts off the match in control with a couple of arm drags, and then begins to work the arm. Breeze fights back and then gets a tag in to Kidd. Kidd and Breeze work together and begin to beat down down Sami in the corner. Kidd puts Sami in a headlock, and then tags in Breeze. Kidd lets go of Sami and Breeze keeps the attack going with a neckbreaker. Kidd is tagged back in but Zayn fights him off. Breeze is tagged in and so is Neville. Neville begins his comeback. Neville ends up hitting the Red Arrow for the 3 count on Breeze.

Winners: Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn

Jerry Springer’s Bella Intervention is up next. We go to commercial.

We return with Stephanie McMahon making her way to the ring. Stephanie says that it breaks her heart to see what has become of the Bellas. Stephanie then says if there is one person who can bring them back together, it is Jerry Springer. Jerry then comes out to the ring. Jerry brings out Brie Bella first. Jerry says that he just saw Brie attack Nikki last week, but she then apologizes the next day. Brie says she doesn’t want to stoop to Nikki’s classless level. Jerry then introduces Nikki. Nikki says she may have accepted her apology, but she will not forgive her for being treated like a second class sister. Nikki then says she has stuff that she needs to be focusing on, like her Divas title match.

Nikki then says that she wouldn’t be surprised if Dad left because of Brie. We are then shown clips of their mom and dad asking for them to fix this. Jerry then brings out their brother. He says that Nikki is not the victim, and then the two girls begin to go at it! Jerry, JJ, and Stephanie all get brought into it, until the referees finally break it up. Jerry appears to be hurt and is taken out on a stretcher, giving a thumbs up. We go to commercial.

Goldust and Stardust vs Los Matadores

Stardust starts off getting taken down with a shoulder block. Los Matadores make a tag, but Stardust takes advantage right away and then tags in Goldust. Goldust then gets hit with a hurricanrana. Stardust however distracts Los Matadores, and Goldust takes advantage. Stardust is tagged in and hits the Dark Matter for the 3 count.

Winners: Goldust and Stardust

Stardust and Goldust celebrate on the top of the stage, until The Usos come out and attack Stardust from behind with a crutch! Stardust and Goldust retreat as The Usos stand tall.

We get a tribute of Joan Rivers of her career as well as her tie to the wrestling industry.

Adam Rose vs Titus O’Neil

The beginning of the match is dominated by Titus. Heath then tries to attack the bunny, but the bunny dodges him and then hits a super kick on Slater. Rose then hits the Party Foul for the 3 count.

Winner: Adam Rose

After the match, the bunny hits a splash from the top rope on Titus.

We go backstage with Renee Young and Roman Reigns. Reigns says he doesn’t know what Orton meant earlier, but he knows that he is the Viper, but he has the antidote. We go to commercial break.

We are given a video package highlighting Brock Lesnar’s rise to the top. We are then told Brock Lesnar will be on Raw next week.

Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns

The match starts with both men slugging it out. Reigns gains the advantage, knocking Orton to the outside. Orton however fights back, slamming Reigns head in the steel steps. Reigns is throw back in the ring, and Orton gets in as well and goes for a suplex. Reigns reverses into one of his own, and then makes the cover for a 2 count. Reigns then hits a clothesline, and Orton rolls back to the outside. We go to commercial break.

We return with Orton in control. Orton begins to slam Reigns multiple times onto the steel steps, and then throws Reigns in the ring for a cover. Reigns kicks out at 2, and then is put in a headlock. Reigns then tries to get back in it, but Orton keeps him down. Orton then goes to the outside with Reigns, and hits a clothesline on the floor. Reigns is thrown in the ring again for another cover that only gets Orton a 2 count. Reigns however gets back in it with a big clothesline. Orton goes to the outside and Reigns follows. Reigns then begins to slam Orton into the barricade multiple times. Reigns and Orton get back in the ring and Orton takes control again. Orton then hits a superplex on Reigns for a 2 count. We go to commercial break.

We return with Orton in control, halting Reigns comeback. Orton makes a cover but Reigns kicks out at 2. Orton tries to ground Reigns but Reigns fights back with a back suplex. Reigns then gets up and begins his comeback. Orton however fights back with a powerslam. Orton makes the cover for a 2 count. Reigns fights back again and then hits the dropkick on the apron. Reigns gets back in the ring and then gets caught with a backbreaker. Orton makes another cover for a 2 count. Reigns gets back in and goes to the second rope, but then gets caught in mid air with another power slam! Orton makes another cover but Reigns kicks out at 2. Orton then hits the hangman DDT. Orton calls for the RKO, but Reigns reverses it into the Superman Punch! Orton then calls Rollins and Kane out to come out. All three men then begin the assault.

Winner (By: DQ):  Roman Reigns

Orton calls for the cage to lower, but Reigns takes out Rollins and Kane out of the ring! Reigns gets Orton alone and hits the spear! Rollins however jumps off the top right onto Roman. Kane then gets in and the beat down begins. Orton then grabs a chair and then begins to destroy Reigns. Rollins then finishes the assault with a Curb Stomp on the chair. The Authority stand tall to conclude Raw.
