WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Countdown: What If Alberto Del Rio Won?

We’re counting down to the Royal Rumble: a variation of the traditional Battle Royal match, with a total of 30 competitors. Two WWE Superstars start in the ring, every 90 seconds thereafter another Superstar enters. A Superstar is eliminated when they’re thrown over the top rope and both feet touch the floor. The last remaining Superstar is guaranteed a championship opportunity at WrestleMania versus the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE Superstar: Alberto Del Rio
Height: 6′ 5”
Weight: 239 lbs.
From: San Luis Potosi, Mexico
Championships Reigns: WWE Champion (x2), World Heavyweight Champion (x2) CMLL World Heavyweight Champion

Don’t expect any of the other 29 Superstars competing in the Royal Rumble match to take former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio lightly. Behind the Mexico native’s charming smile festers a dangerous aggressor bent on not just winning, but incapacitating any competitors who step in his way. Given Del Rio’s track record, no one would be surprised if he did in fact win this annual over-the-top-rope event for the second time.

He knows how it feels to enter WrestleMania with everything to gain, only to come up short at the show of shows. It’s likely this wouldn’t happen a second time around. Claiming major championship gold has been Del Rio’s primary goal since arriving in WWE. No matter the WWE World Heavyweight titleholder – be it Randy Orton, John Cena, or some other top Superstar, the potential of Del Rio besting them would be very, very high.
