WWE SmackDown Results – August 9, 2013

Start off with RVD vs Randy Orton!

Match #1
Randy Orton vs RVD

Really solid back and forth action with these two in a fast paced match with neither guy really getting full advantage. In the finishing stretch RVD reverses out of the snap DDT into a northern lights suplex. Rolling thunder from RVD! RVD goes for the five star, misses and gets hit by the RKO!

Winner: Randy Orton

Miz TV is next with AJ & Big E. AJ takes some shots at Dolph and Kaitlyn before they both come out. After some arguing, Kaitlyn spears AJ and Dolph takes out Big E.

Match #2
Fandango vs Kofi Kingston

Fairly short match here, with similar offense of the Monday match. Kofi looks rather strong until he is distracted by Summer Rae and thrown into the ring post. Diving leg drop from Fandango for the win.

Winner: Fandango

Match #3
Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett

Fairly fast paced brawl here with each guy getting their strikes in. Battle goes to the outside and Bryan takes advantage. Diving headbutt from Bryan, followed by the Yes Lock!

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Match #4
Kane vs 3MB

Kane wins this one very quick, tossing most of the group out of the ring and then chokeslamming Jinder Mahal.

Winner: Kane

After the match we get a cryptic promo from the Wyatt family about the ring of fire match.

Main Event
Alberto Del Rio vs Christian

Match starts off slow and Del Rio takes control. Chinlock from Alberto. Del Rio puts Christian upside down in the corner and taunts him. Christian fights back and hits a big flying elbow off the ropes. Backstabber from Del Rio after wiggling out of the Killswitch. Del Rio tosses Christian into the ring post. Rollup from Christian for two but Del RIo kicks out and superkicks Christian. Christian rolls up Del Rio for the win.

Winner: Christian

After the match, Del Rio comes back in the ring and gets the Killswitch from Christian. Damien Sandow comes out, ready to cash in with his new briefcase but Cody Rhodes comes out and stops him! Crossrhodes to Sandow!

Another great Smackdown. Just had to comment that this was the best SD episode in recent memory. Good on WWE to end it with Rhodes and Sandow as well.
