WWE SmackDown Results – July 10, 2018
Welcome to SmackDown Live. Miz is in the ring for MizTV. Miz says everyone is talking about the same thing . . . Miz and Mrs debuting in two weeks after Smackdown on USA Network. Other people are talking about the reunion of his guests tonight. They will be wrestling for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles on Sunday night. He brings out Kane and Daniel Bryan.
Miz mentions that Daniel is angry about losing in the gauntlet match last month, but he will be a professional and he expects the same from Daniel.
Daniel says if you think he is going to punch Miz in the face, the answer is . . . Daniel says he will be professional. Miz points out that the crowd is booing someone who is trying to be civil. Miz raises his hand so the expects the crowd’s mouths to go shut. Miz says your history is relevant and impressive. You were tag team champions. Since you came back from this hiatus, Daniel has been a well oiled machine. This is like Justin Timberlake reuniting with N-Sync. Are you ready to face the Bludgeon Brothers.
Kane says N-Sync will never reunite. He says JT is too big a star now. They are well aware of what the Bludgeon Brothers can do. They are unafraid, they are barbaric, and they are undefeated since winning the titles. However, they are not Team Hell No.
Miz agrees with Kane. If there is a team that can handle the Bludgeons, it is Kane and Daniel. We have a video package for Kane and Daniel Bryan and everything Kane did to torment Daniel.
Miz says he is so sorry because that is not the footage he meant to show. He tells the guy in the truck that he is going to be fired.
Daniel tells Miz to stop it. He says they see what he is trying to do. You try to be professional, but you are here to stir the pot. It is not working because you are the Miz and you are terrible at everything. The only thing you are worse at than stirring the pot is wrestling.
Miz asks Daniel if that is what he thinks. Miz says he is smarter than this. He does not think it will implode, he knows it will implode. Kane will turn on you and you don’t know it. There is only one thing that Miz has thought about since Daniel came back is that he will be the man to end Daniel’s career. You hide behind this cheesy act and you know that you cannot hang in the ring with him.
Kane tells Daniel he has to calm down and breathe. They need to keep their energy focused on the Bludgeon Brothers.
Miz tells Daniel to hide behind a broken down demon one more time.
Kane grabs Miz by the throat and the music for The Bludgeon Brothers plays so Kane lets go of Miz.
Luke and Erick make their way to the ring.
Sanity’s music plays and they make their way to the ring through the crowd and they attack Kane and Daniel Bryan. Harper and Rowan take care of Kane while Sanity works over Daniel.
The New Day make their way to the ring. They go after Sanity and they take care of Sanity.
Wolfe and Young attack Big E and Bryan with a drop kick to Young. Dain with a drop kick to Bryan. Young with a wheelbarrow neck breaker to Woods. Wolfe and Dain hit a suplex and power slam combination on Big E while officials try to stop the attack.
Shinsuke Nakamura walks in the back as we go to commercial.
Match Number One: AJ Styles versus Shinsuke Nakamura in a Non Title Match
Before the match starts, Rusev makes his way to the stage with Aiden English. Rusev tells the champ he does not care what he does at Extreme Rules. You may want to lock yourself in the basement or bathroom because he is coming to destroy the house that AJ Styles built. He says after he wins his first WWE Championship, he will celebrate it on a day that will haunt AJ forever.
Aiden tells us it will be Rusev Day.
Nakamura attacks when the bell rings but Styles with a Phenomenal drop kick. Nakamura goes to the floor while Aiden and Rusev walk past him. Styles chops Nakamura against the ringside barrier. They return to the ring but Nakamura rolls to the floor again. Nakamura attacks AJ on the floor and then they return to the ring. Nakamura kicks Styles in the corner and then he goes for a suplex but Styles blocks it. Nakamura kicks Styles in the back.
Styles kicks Nakamura and sends him into teh turnbuckles. Styles with shoulders in the corner followed by a suplex. Styles with a back breaker. Styles with a hard Irish whip. Styles with a leaping knee drop and he gets a near fall. Styles with a reverse chin lock. Nakamura with punches and knees. Nakamura with a kick to the midsection. Styles with a thrust kick. AJ with an Irish whip and he is sent to the apron. Styles with a forearm and he sets for a Phenomenal Forearm but Nakamura knocks Styles off the ropes. Nakamura sends Styles into the ringside barrier and then he gets a near fall as Rusev gushes over the performance of Nakamura on commentary and talks about buying him some flowers.
Nakamura with a reverse chin lock. Styles with elbows and forearms. Nakamura with a forearm and axe kick. Nakamura with a gourdbuster and then he sets for Kinshasa but Styles with a rollup for a near fall. Styles with an enzuigiri that backs Nakamura into the corner. Nakamura with a boot to the head. Nakamura puts Styles on the top turnbuckle and connects with a knee to the ribs. Nakamura with a power slam for a near fall.
Nakamura with a knee to the midsection. Nakamura kicks Styles in the ribs. Styles blocks a kick but Nakamura with an enzuigiri for a near fall.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Styles with chops but Nakamura with a knee. Nakamura misses a series of round kicks but Styles with strikes to Nakamura followed by a sliding forearm. Styles with a flying clothesline into the corner and he gets Nakamura up but Nakamura gets to his feet and he tells AJ to come on. Styles gets Nakamura up for an Ushigoroshi but AJ can only get a near fall.
Styles tries for the Styles Clash but Nakamura blocks it and then he applies a triangle. Styles tries to escape but Nakamura holds on. Styles gets a near fall when he gets Nakamura’s shoulders on the mat. Nakamura gets AJ on the mat with a triangle but AJ with another near fall. Nakamura goes for a reverse exploder but Styles lands on his feet and he tells Nakamura to come on. Styles sends Nakamura to the floor and then Styles with a slingshot forearm and both men are down on the floor in front of Rusev.
Aiden has something to say to AJ and AJ punches English. Nakamura with a round kick to Styles and then he sets for Kinshasa on the floor but AJ moves and Nakamura hits Aiden. Styles sends Nakamura into the ring post and then Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Rusev pulls AJ off the apron and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: AJ Styles (by disqualification) [retains title]
After the match, Rusev sends AJ into the ring and holds him for Nakamura but Jeff Hardy makes his way to the ring and he goes after Rusev and Nakamura. Rusev and Nakamura work over Jeff Hardy but Hardy with a double drop kick. Hardy with a baseball slide to Rusev and Nakamura.
Paige comes out and she says since AJ is defending his title on Sunday against Rusev and since Jeff is defending his title against Nakamura, why not have a tag match? Right now.
Match Number Two: Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura versus Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles
Styles and Rusev start things off as the match is joined in progress. Rusev blocks a kick and then he kicks Styles. Rusev with a punch and bear hug. Rusev with a suplex and he returns to the bear hug. Styles with a punch but Rusev goes for a suplex. Styles lands on his feet and he applies a sleeper and gets on Rusev’s back. Rusev gets out of the hold by backing Styles into the corner. Rusev charges into the corner and Styles moves sending Rusev shoulder first into the ring post. Hardy tags in and he punches Rusev. Hardy with a running forearm and reverse atomic drop followed by a leg drop and drop kick.
Hardy with a cover for a near fall. Hardy with a kick and he goes for a Twist of Fate but Rusev escapes. Hardy goes up top for Whisper in the Wind and Nakamura breaks up the cover and attacks Hardy. Styles sends Nakamura to the floor and AJ with a sliding knee on the apron. Rusev with a Machka Kick to Styles to knock him off the apron. Hardy with a Twist of Fate and then he goes up top but Nakamura crotches Hardy on the turnbuckles.
Rusev with a Machka Kick and he gets the three count.
Winners: Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura
James Ellsworth gets ready for his match against Asuka and Carmella stops by and she tells him to get up. She says he better take care of Asuka tonight. Ellsworth says that he’s got it babe and he winks at Carmella. Carmella tells James never to wink at her again and never let him down.
The lumberjacks make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.
Before the match starts, Ellsworth has something to say. He says he knows that this must be tempting but he tells the ladies to show some restraint tonight. Don’t try to kiss him on these lips. None of you are ready for Asuka, but James Ellsworth is.
Match Number Three: Asuka versus James Ellsworth in a Lumberjack Match
Ellsworth avoids a kick and spinning back fist and Ellsworth goes to the floor but he is escorted back into the ring. Ellsworth begs for mercy and Asuka misses a round kick. Ellsworth goes to the apron and he misses a shoulder. Asuka with a kick and hip attack that sends James to the floor. A few women surround Ellsworth and send him back into the ring. Asuka with a hip attack and punches. Asuka with a pop up knee and a Shining Wizard. Ellsworth goes to the floor and Mandy and Sonya surround Ellsworth. Ellsworth tries to escape but the women bring him back into the ring.
Mandy kicks Lana and Ellsworth heads up the ramp but he falls down and Becky stops him. Naomi and Becky pick up Ellsworth and carry him into the ring like he is a turtle. The women battle and Ellsworth escapes. Asuka with a cross body onto the women. Ellsworth gets back into the ring and Carmella gives Ellsworth some spray. Asuka grabs Ellsworth and he cannot spray Asuka. Asuka kicks Ellsworth into Carmella and Asuka forces Ellsworth to tap out.
After the match, Ellsworth sprays Asuka in the face and Carmella with a super kick.
The New Day and Team Hell No are in the back and Woods says they got beaten down by them. Daniel says they need to chop them down like trees. Kane suggests that they set them on fire and send them to hell. Daniel asks if we have a portal to send them through. Daniel says if Kane allowed him to punch Miz in the face, they would have seen them coming. Daniel and Kane argue.
Big E yells and tells them they need to get together or they will lose. He tells Xavier to use his big brain. He tells Kofi he needs to run circles around them. He tells Daniel he needs to be the Goatfaced Killer. He asks Kane if he is with them. Kane says this is a battle they will win and he vows that never has not begun.
Daniel wants to know if that was N-Sync and Kane says it still applies.
We are back and Carmella tells James that he got the job done.
Paige stops James and Carmella. James says his stock with women is higher than WWE stock. He says he will make an exception for Paige and let her kiss him.
Paige says that James will be above the ring on Sunday to keep her from helping Carmella in her match. James will be in a shark cage.
Match Number Four: Sin Cara versus Andrade Almas (with Zelina Vega)
Almas pushes Sin Cara and then he connects with an elbow and he chops Sin Cara. Cara with a tilt-a-whirl arm drag followed by a head scissors and suicide dive. Cara sends Almas back into the ring and he applies a waist lock. Almas with a standing switch. Almas blocks a kick and puts Cara in the ropes. Almas with a knee to the back and a forearm for a near fall. Almas with a slingshot drop kick that sends Cara to the floor.
Almas hangs in the ropes while Vega lays on the apron. Almas sends Cara back into the ring but Cara with punches. Cara with a kick and Almas goes to the apron. Almas with a triangle in the ropes. Almas with an arm bar. Almas with an Irish whip but Cara gets his feet up. Almas puts Cara in the ropes but Cara with an elbow and then he avoids Almas when Almas charges into the corner. Almas and Cara with chops and Cara with a springboard cross body. Cara with a quebrada but Almas tries to send Cara to the apron. Cara counters into a Destroyer for a near fall. Almas lands on his feet on a suplex attempt.
Almas with a spinning back elbow. Almas goes for the hammer lock DDT but Cara counters with an inside cradle for a near fall. Almas is sent over the top rope to the floor by Cara. Cara with a slingshot head scissors on the floor and Cara sends Almas back into the ring. Cara goes up top but he lands on Almas’ knees. Almas goes up top for a moonsault but Cara crotches Almas. Cara with a punch but Almas puts Cara on the middle turnbuckle. Almas with a double stomp. Almas with the running double knee strike for the three count.
Winner: Andrade Almas
We take a look at the card for Extreme Rules.
Killian Dain says they are here to break the status quo. Alexander Wolfe says they are here to turn happiness into havoc. Eric Young says they are not here for the nostalgia. Your time in the sun is over. All there is time for is the pure unadulterated chaos.
Erick Rowan says let the bludgeoning begin.

Match Number Five: Kane, Daniel Bryan, Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods versus Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain, Eric Young, Erick Rowan, and Luke Harper
Bryan goes after Young as the bell rings and then all ten men battle until Team Hell No and New Day remain in the ring.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Woods with a snap mare to Wolfe. Kofi tags in and he kicks Wolfe. Woods with a sliding clothesline. Kofi with a leg drop and Woods with an elbow off the turnbuckles. Big E with a Warrior splash for a near fall. Big E pulls Wolfe out of his corner and Woods tags in and punches Wolfe. Woods sends Wolfe into the turnbuckles and Young and Dain distract Woods long enough to allow Wolfe to hit a German suplex. Rowan tags in and hits a pump handle back breaker and he follows with a slam and elbow drop. Harper tags in and hits a slingshot senton for a near fall.
Harper with a Gator Roll into a reverse chin lock. Harper pulls Woods back to the mat and holds on to the reverse chin lock. Harper with a slam to Woods and Dain tags himself in. Dain with an elbow to the top of the head. Dain works on Woods’ neck. Woods punches Dain and Dain pushes Woods into corner. Woods fights his way out of the corner but Dain with a wheelbarrow slam and back senton.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Rowan with a double noogie on Woods. Woods with a jawbreaker and he escapes the hold. Rowan with a back elbow. Rowan with an Irish whip and Harper tags in. Harper with a running elbow and Rowan with a splash. Harper with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall and pandemonium ensues. Woods with a kick and slingshot tornado DDT on Harper. Young tags in and so does Bryan. Bryan with punches to Young. Bryan with kicks in the corner. Young with an Irish whip and Bryan flips out of the corner and hits a flying clothesline. Bryan drop kicks Dain and Wolfe off the apron.
Bryan with a running drop kick to Young in the corner and then he sets for a Frankensteiner and hits it. Bryan with kicks to Young and he winds up for the round kick but misses. Young with a rollup for a near fall. Bryan tries for the Yes Lock but Wolfe with a drop kick. Kane with a choke slam. Rowan with a spinning heel kick to Kane. Woods with a missile drop kick. Harper takes care of Woods. Kofi with Trouble in Paradise and then Big E sends Kofi onto Harper on the floor. Dain with the Divide to Kofi. Big E sends Dain to the apron and Big E with a spear through the ropes.
Bryan and Young remain in the ring and he hits the flying knee and gets the three count.
Winners: Kane, Daniel Bryan, Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston
Daniel tells Kane to stop with the Yesing and then he tries to set off Kane’s pyro but it does not work. Daniel says he can do it. Daniel gets Kane’s pyro to go off.
