WWE SmackDown Results – March 26, 2015

– The show begins with the SmackDown intro, and we’re live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Fernando vs. Cesaro vs. Big E vs. Jimmy Uso

The show kicks off with the Uso’s entrance, accompanied by Naomi. A Fatal-4 Way match will kick off the show. The New Day have a powerful new entrance theme that features Big E voicing an intro. All four tag teams are at ringside for the match, previewing the Fatal-4 Way tag team match at Wrestlemania this Sunday.

The match begins with all four participants fighting in the ring, as per Fatal-4 Way rules. Big E is on a roll early, giving a pair of belly-to-belly suplexes and a few big splashes in the ring. Jimmy Uso gains some momentum and eventually pulls off an impressive — but expected — dive to the outside, knocking down the other three participants.

One of the most impressive moments of the match comes a few minutes in when Cesaro grabs Fernando for a deadlift suplex from the outside into the ring, but Jimmy Uso also grabs Fernando. Then, from behind, Big E grabs Cesaro and Jimmy Uso for a towering three-level suplex over the rope and into the ring.

Cesaro goes for the Neutralizer on Big E but Fernando hits an uncomfrortable looking backstabber on Cesaro to break it up. Jimmy Uso comes in to clear the ring and then hits his finishing top-rope splash on Cesaro for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jimmy Uso

– Renee Young is reporting “live” from WWE Axxess alongside Byron Saxton in a panel format with the even going on behind them.

– The pair discuss Brock Lesnar’s decision to re-sign with WWE and the clip of Lesnar making the announcement on SportsCenter is shown. We also get a video package highlighting Reigns’ wrestling lineage.

– When we return from commercial, we get a video package previewing the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Here we get a comical moment where the editing team must have screwed up the audio. The video package comes on but is silent, then audio comes in and it’s Renee Young burping and then the audio cuts out again. The audio finally catches up with the video package, which highlights the history of the Intercontinental Championship and ladder matches at Wrestlemania.

– AJ Lee and Paige are announced to be on the show later tonight.

– Renee Young and Byron Saxton announce they will be reporting from the red carpet during the Hall of Fame ceremonies Saturday night.

– Next, we get a video package promoting the Cena vs. Rusev match for the United States title this Sunday. There’s a nicely edited shot of Rusev waving a Russian flag inside a training ring. The video package does a good job as a whole to hype-up the match.

– Aloe Blacc will perform “America the Beautiful” at the start of Wrestlemania this Sunday.

– After this announcement, we get a video package for the grudge match between Randy Orton and Seth Rollins this Sunday.

– We finally return to the Staples Center after commercial. AJ Lee’s music hits and she skips down to the ring. AJ gives a promo, saying that she plans to beat the Bella Twins with or without Paige. Paige’s music hits and she comes out to confront AJ about them both wanting the championship. Paige questions whether AJ will turn on her at Wrestlemania. AJ says they’re alike and they both hate losing, saying they can’t let the “Kardashians” win on Sunday.

Nikki Bella’s music hits and the Bella Twins come out to deliver a promo against AJ and Paige. Nikki calls AJ a manipulator, and Brie says she and Nikki have a bond that can’t be broken. Nikki says to AJ, “I think Brock Lesnar worked more days than you last year” in reference to AJ’s absence this year. Paige delivers a great stretch of the promo saying they’re not afraid to “be themselves,” before the Bella Twins tease a fight and then retreat back up the ramp.

– We return from commercial and get another video package previewing the Triple H vs. Sting match this Sunday at Wrestlemania.

– Next, we get a video package previewing the Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt match this Sunday.

– We head back to the Staples Center after the commercial break. John Cena’s music hits as the first entrant for the 8-man tag match.

Daniel Bryan/John Cena/Mark Henry/Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt/Seth Rollins/Kane/Big Show

There seems to be obvious editing in the crowd’s reaction to Roman Reigns. As PWMania.com reported earlier this week, the #1 contender was booed upon his entrance, But upon SmackDown airing Thursday, there was an unnatural crowd pop in the audio.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins start off the match. Reigns stays in the ring for a lengthy portion of the match, taking on Rollins, Wyatt, and Kane. The commentary team even mentions there’s three partners he could tag in. He finally tags in Mark Henry to take on the Big Show.

Rollins is able to get the crowd to its feet when he is tagged in by the Big Show. The match has a fairly long, slow start. Only Reigns and Henry have been in the match for team Bryan/Cena/Henry/Reigns about 15 minutes in.

When we return from commercial, Cena is in the ring taking a beating as team Wyatt/Rollins/Kane/Big Show make frequent tags and take cheap shots when the ref is distracted. Rollins jumps on Cena and locks in a sleeper hold, which Cena finally fights out of. Rollins then regains himself and hits a neckbreaker from the top rope and tags Big Show in. Big Show then goes for a second-rope splash, but Cena again dives out of the way. Cena creates another opening after dumping Rollins out of the ring. He then dives to tag in Daniel Bryan, who hasn’t been tagged in the match over 20 minutes in.

Bryan takes the hot tag and controls his sequence with Rollins before settling into a round of “Yes!” kicks. J&J Security distract Bryan, creating separation for Rollins to tag Big Show in. Big Show goes for a chokeslam, but Reigns comes in and delivers a “Superman Punch.” Then Reigns spears Wyatt and Kane in a chaotic final minute of the show. Henry takes out Big Show and then Cena delivers an “AA” to Show. Bryan then hits the “Running Knee” on Big Show while he’s trying to regain himself in the middle of the ring. Bryan gets the pinfall victory.

Winner: Daniel Bryan/John Cena/Mark Henry/Roman Reigns

– The show fades to black with the crowd chanting “Yes!” and Bryan, Cena, Henry, and Reigns standing tall in the ring.
