WWE SmackDown Results – November 20, 2018

Welcome to SmackDown Live.

WWE Smackdown opened up with a video feature on Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey at this past weekend’s Survivor Series PPV.

Charlotte Flair made her way to the ring. Flair smiled. A fan yelled, “Thank you Charlotte” and she said, “Yes, thank me.” She said she put the baddest beating of the so-called baddest woman on the planet and she is so proud of it. She asked Ronda Rousey is she was looking at her bruises and welts and walking a little shower. She Smasaid if Ronda was looking for an apology, she’s not going to get it. Flair said she enjoyed every second of beating her ass. She said it was for her locker room and the champ. She spent half her career fighting against Becky Lynch and she fought at Survivor Series for Becky Lynch. Lynch told her to give Ronda the beating that she would have and Charlotte did. Flair bragged that Rousey bowed down to the Queen.

Smackdown GM Paige came out and said she didn’t have to apologize. Paige said that she and everyone loved it. Paige said that on Raw, Ronda said she was going to find Flair and take care of her. Flair said that if she sticks her nose in her business again, she’s going to put Rousey’s hair in a chair again and stomp it a million times. Flair said no one can stop her. Paige reminded her she put her hands on five WWE officials, so she has no choice but to fine Flair $100,000.

Before Flair really had a chance to respond, out came the IIconics. Peyton began staring lifelessly. Billie asked her what was wrong, then figured out that she was imitating Charlotte Flair on Sunday. They began mocking Flair, then said they know that they are Paige’s favorites. Flair said that she was ready to help them find out and offered to face one of them right now.

Charlotte Flair vs. Billie Kaye

Flair was aggressive with chops early and brought Kaye down with a side headlock, grinding again. Flair nails a series of kneedrops and Kaye was already on the ropes. Flair took her down and went for the figure four but Kaye scrambled for the ropes to break up the attempt. Kaye retreated to the floor. Flair smiled and followed out and back to the ring. Kaye returned to the floor, but this time when Charlotte followed, she was caught with a clothesline. Back in the ring, Flair caught her with an O’Connor Roll but was sent into the buckle when Kaye kicked up. Peyton worked over Flair on the corner as Kaye distracred the referee.

Flair came back with a Fall Away Slam, followed by Natural Selection for the pin.

Your winner, Charlotte Flair.

Flair said that wasn’t enough for her and challenged Royce to face her. Royce looked like she didn’t want to wrestle. She finally agreed but entered the ring with great trepidation. Royce then exited immediately.

Charlotte Flair vs. Peyton Royce

Flair finally attacked her and drilled her into the corner, nailing several shoulderblocks. Royce kicked her away but Flair almost immediately regained control and tossed her to the floor. Flair met her with chops against the barricade.

Royce gained control and yanked her down by the hair. She kicked at Flair, then tossed her into the ring, scoring a near fall. Royce drilled her with a right hand and scored another pinfall attempt. Flair finally caught her with a big boot. Flair went for a slam but Billie Kaye attacked Flair from behind.

Your winner, Charlotte Flair by DQ!

The IIconics worked over Flair. The crowd chanted for Becky Lynch. They went to the floor to get a steel chair but the WWE staffer at ringside didn’t want to hand it over That delay gave Flair enough time to recover and spear them both on the floor. Flair began beating Kaye’s head into the announcers’ table, the followed suit with Royce. She then did it to each of them at the same time. Flair ran Kaye into the ringside barricade and drilled her with a hard knee.

Royce was run into the steel stairs at ringside. Kaye was snatched up and tossed over one of the announcing tables. Royce was then tossed over the table as well. Flair stepped up on the table, extended her arms and told everyone to “Bow down.”

They basically gave 1/4th of the entire show to Flair and it was pretty entertaining.

Backstage, Rey Mysterio said he’s seen a lot, good and bad, but he’s never seen anything like Randy Orton. He said that Orton wants to do to him what he did to Jeff Hardy. He said he didn’t come back to be one of the Viper’s victims. He said Randy may be at the top of his game, but so is Rey. Wait and see.

They announced Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio would take place later tonight.

The announcers recapped Daniel Bryan’s WWE title win last week. We will hear from him later tonight.

They showed The Miz backstage signing a copy of MizTV for someone. They pushed that MizTV with Shane McMahon would be up next.

MizTV

The fans chanted, “Miz is awesome” and he smirked and said that it was good to be home. Miz gave Shane McMahoin a big introduction, acting as he was so blown away and impressed to have teamed with him. McMahon came out walking like Charlotte Flair had given him a beating and he actually sold it. Miz did his dance as he came to the ring. He asked Shane to do the shuffle but Shane he was too banged up to do it.

The World Cup was at ringside.

Miz said they fought to the bitter end at Survivor Series, just as they did at Crown Jewel. Miz was putting over Shane but saying “we” did everything. Shane said he liked the “we” thing but only doesn’t remember much after Braun Strowman clotheslined him out of the air. Miz said that he was saying “we” to be a team player. Shane said that he knows it’s Miz’s show but usually the host asks questions.

Miz said that he was 2/3rd the best in the word and Shane was 1/3rd, he asked if Shane would team up with him as a tag team. Miz tried to push him on the merits of being a team, saying it would be the best team in the world. He said that at Survivor Series, he saw a Survivor and a Champion. Shane said that with their responsibilities, he didn’t think it was a good idea. Miz said this wasn’t the reaction as he thought he would get. He said he went to Paige earlier and if he’s as much as a man…well a McMahon, they could compete right now.

Out came two local competitors, billed as Wayne and Dane Bryant, who were obviously not actually brothers.

The Miz & Shane McMahon vs. The Bryan Brothers

McMahon is in street clothes.

Miz toyed with one of the Bryants and drilled him with a DDT. Miz offered to tag out but Shane told him to do it. Miz turned around and Dane Bryant caught him in a small package and pinned him. Of course he did.

Your winners and soon to be hitting the indy scene, The Bryants!

So much for that State of Smackdown address, eh? Shane implied some major change but instead we received a comedy bit.

They plugged the Starrcade event this weekend.

The New Day were skipping backstage dressed as pilgrims carrying Thanksgiving acoutrements and pies. The Gobbledy Gooker showed up and started dancing, then unmasked to reveal R-Truth. rYou mean the Gobbledy Gooker isn’t real?

When they returned fom Thankgiving, there was a Thanksgiving feast in the ring. Kofi was still carrying pancakes. They weren’t blue. He said they were rapidly approaching on of their favorite holidays. They got the fans to chant “Turkey Day.” They said that meant they would take part in the first-ever Thanksgiving Feast Fight. They said it’s like the dinner we have at home, except the fans can’t toss masked potatoes at their creepy uncle. They said they were thankful for their victory at Survivor Series, although for some reason, their victory didn’t count towards the final total. Woods was thankful for his 2 TB harddrive so he didn’t have to delete Spider-Man to play Red Dead Redemption 2. Big E was thankful for big luscious breasts, then explained he meant the turkey. He began licking the turkey. Of course he did.

Out came WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Bar and The Big Show.

Cesaro asked if they were kidding about all this, because they are the Champions. He said there was no way Paige or Shane McMahon came up with this, and blamed the New Day. New Day reminded them that they won their Survivor Series match, unlike some people. He said when Paige said they need to step up, they meant The Bar. Sheamus asked how you plan for spontaneous urintation. They said they are the Bar…and we are back to commercial.

Thanksgiving Feast Fight with The New Day vs. WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Bar & Big Show.

The table with the feast was moved to ringside.

Show and Woods started off. Woods nailed a superkick in the mid-section, but Show immediately took him down and worked him over, including ripping off his pilgrim costume. Cesaro tagged in and nailed a big uppercut. Sheamus tagged in and beat Woods over the chest. Cesaro tagged in and covered Woods for a two count. The Bar tagged in and out, working over Woods. The fans rallied Woods with New Day chants. Woods started to make a comeback but was nailed in the mid-section and dragged back over to the corner. Cesaro tagged in and nailed a low dropkick for a two count.

Woods fought to get into position to make a tag but Cesaro kicked Big E off the apron. Kofi made the hot tag and cleaned house. Big E got involved and knocked Big Show off the apron, where he crashed down through a table with all sorts of Thanksgiving dinner decorations. Sheamus brought a turkey into the ring but Woods knocked him out of the ring. Kofi came off the top with the turkey, smashing it into him and knocking him through the other Thanksgiving table. Big E put his hand inside the turkey and nailed Sheamus with it for the pin.

Your winner, The New Day!

New Day smashed Cesaro with a series of pies and sauces after the match before taking a bump into the remnants all over the mat.

See you all at the Christmas Street Fight.

Randy Orton cut a promo and said people think Rey Mysterio’s mask means something. He said it means nothing to him and said it needs to be destroyed, just like the man who wears it. He said everyone will be full of shock and horror when he takes care of Rey with the RKO.

Asuka & Naomi vs. Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose.

Naomi and Asuka controlled the match early. The talking points of the announcers is that whether Rose and Deville can get along. Asuka and Naomi hit stereo hip attacks to knock them off the apron as they went to commercial. When they returned, Naomi had kicked Deville in the face. Rose and Asuka tagged in. Asuka snapped her with a back suplex and nailed a shining wizard for a two count. Rose rebounded off the ropes and Deville made a blind tag. Rose almost nailed her and they had words. Asuka went for a kick. Deville shoved Rose out of the way but ate the kick. Asuka took her down in the Asuka Lock and Deville tapped.

They aired clips of Orton vs. Mysterio at Crown Jewel.

They ran a video package on Lars Sullivan, noting he was coming soon.

WWE announced AJ Styles will challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE title at WWE TLC.

WWE Champion Daniel Bryan came out and said he committed an act of betrayal three years ago when he gave up on his dreams and retired. He said the difference between himself and “these people” is that he doesn’t accept failure. He went all over the country to see doctors and experts. He forced himself to sit inside a hyperbaric chamber for three hours a day. He said that silence gave him the chance to create his mantra, fight for your dreams and it worked. He said how else can you describe the miracle where Daniel Bryan returned to the ring. He said he heard the loudest Yes chants he had ever heard and it was a great moment.

For the people, it was just a moment. They weren’t there for the pain or the struggle. They didn’t have to deal with family fights or the therapists and the psychiatrists who told him to move on. He said the only people who moved on were the fans, the idiots chanting for AJ Styles. That brought up a Styles chant. He called them fickle fans. He said Daniel Bryan’s dreams took over and did what they were programmed to do and they kicked AJ Styles in the balls. He said that Daniel Bryan’s dreams made him realize that he didn’t need these people for anything and they told him at Survivor Series, he didn’t need to beat Brock Lesnar to win. He won by allowing Lesnar to beat the weakness out of him, so there would be a new emergence out of that match – and there has been.

Daniel Bryan declared the old Daniel Bryan is dead and so is the Yes Movement. He said that all that is left is the new Daniel Bryan, the WWE Champion – and the only thing that matters is that you never give up on your dream, again.

Good promo and an interesting new direction for Daniel Bryan. He made Greg Hamilton announce him as the “New Daniel Bryan” and he posed on the announcing table. No Yes chant stuff.

Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio.

If you were 18 when they last wrestled, you are now 30.

They tied up and Orton nailed Rey with a back elbow. Mysterio was able to set him up for a 619 but Orton went to the floor. Rey hit a seated senton to the floor. Back in the ring Orton nailed Rey while he was in the ropes and grabbed at the mask. Orton was fought off but Rey remained tied to the tree of woe as they went to commercial. When they returned, Mysterio was nailing shots to the mid-section but was wiped out and covered for a two count.

Orton planted him on the top turnbuckle. He went back after the mask and tore it at the eyehole. Mysterio fought him off but a missile dropkick but swatted away. The announcers said Orton was trying to take Rey’s identity. Yep, just like that bad booking. Rey came back with a top rope seated senton and a nice bulldog. Rey went for the 619 but Orton blocked it. Rey kicked him in the head and finally connected with the 619. Orton rolled out of the ring. Mysterio hit a sliding kick. Rey went for a dive but caught Rey with an RKO out of nowhere as he sailed through the ropes. Orton tossed the unconscious Rey back into the ring and pulled him by the mask, revealing Rey’s face. Oosps! That won’t make the WWE Network version. Rey was nailed with another RKO and pinned.

Your winner, Randy Orton.
