WWE Smackdown Results – October 26 2012

We begin Smackdown with Randy Orton making his way to the ring. Orton says that Del Rio picked the wrong guy to mess with and that he’s going to give him the most brutal beating of his life on Sunday. Del Rio comes out and has a mic. Del Rio says that he’s going to show the world that Orton is just a garter snake and that he is the new apex predator. Orton calls Del Rio a spineless bottomfeeder. As the conversation breaks down, Wade Barrett attacks Orton from behind. Barrett goes up the ramp as Orton gets to his feet.

Hype for Sheamus and Big Show going face to face tonight.

We return with Teddy confronting Del Rio and Barrett. Long announces Barrett vs Orton for our main event.

Match #1
Cody Rhodes vs Kane

Sandow & Bryan are on commentary for this match. Kane with a big clothesline in the corner and followed by two more for a cover. Flying clothesline from Kane. Throat thrust by Kane. Shining Wizard by Cody Rhodes, followed by a springboard dropkick. Russian leg sweep from Rhodes and some big kicks. Chokeslam from Kane to Rhodes for the victory.

Winner: Kane

Miz makes his way as we go to commercial.

Match #2
Miz vs Yoshi Tatsu

Miz starts off in control with a big boot to the face. Miz kicks Tatsu in the gut. Miz dropkicks Tatsu out of the ring. Miz with a body slam on the mat outside. Back in the ring Miz chokes Tatsu and pounds away Another big boot from Miz. Tatsu fights with some kicks and a diving knee in the corner but Miz quickly counters. Snap DDT from Miz, followed by the Skull Crushing Finale.

Winner: The Miz

Recap from WWE Main Event of Paul Heyman’s interview. Followed by recap of Eve and Kaitlyn’s catfight from Raw.

Backstage Eve, Aksana, Layla & Kaitlyn are arguing with Booker. Teddy comes in and explains that Eve texted Aksana to attack Kaitlyn and Long calls Eve a liar. Eve claims that someone used her iPad to send the email. Booker announces Layla/Kaitlyn/Eve for the title at Hell In A Cell and also Eve/Aksana vs Kaitlyn/Layla for tonight.

Match #3
Randy Orton vs Wade Barrett

Orton takes control in the early going and uses his joint stomping to soften up Barrett. Uppercut from Orton. Orton with a headlock that follows into a back body drop. Barrett takes control but Orton fights back with a clothesline and a jumping knee. Orton with a suplex and near fall before Barrett rolls out of the ring. Orton follows but Barrett turns around and kicks Randy in the stomach and takes control.

As Barrett comes into the ring, Orton goes for the hanging DDT but Barrett fights out, flips Orton over the rope and kicks him off the apron. Barrett tosses Orton into the table as we cut to commercial.

We’re back and Barrett is still in control, kneeing Orton in the stomach and kicking him through the ropes. Barrett keeps control but heads to the top rope where Orton starts the comeback. Shots to the head from Orton on the top rope before climbing up himself and hits the superplex! Orton covers for two. Orton with the clotheslines and a powerslam. Orton pumps up the crowd and gets caught in a sidewalk slam for a two count. Barrett goes for his signature elbow but Orton reverses into the neckbreaker and hits the hanging DDT. Orton sets up for the RKO but Del Rio comes down to the ring. Orton gets distracted but still fights off Barrett. Del Rio gets on the apron and then jumps off, distracting Orton again. Barrett hits the big elbow and gets the pin!

Winner: Wade Barrett

Del Rio goes after Orton but Orton manages to fight him off and Alberto retreats.

Match #4
Kaitlyn/Layla vs Eve/Aksana

Aksana and Layla shove each other and Layla does some of her chain grapples for covers. Quick tag to Kaitlyn after a crossbody from Layla. Kaitlyn with a backbreaker to Aksana before grabbing Eve by the hair. Aksana gets up and takes down Kaitlyn. Aksana slams Kaitlyn’s face into the mat and tags in Eve. Eve with a snapmare and a kick to the chest. Eve chokes Kaitlyn on the ropes. Eve goes for a senton but Kaitlyn gets her knees up and tries to tag in layla. Kaitlyn with a roll up for two. Kaitlyn with some power moves and a bunch of clotheslines to Aksana/Eve. Layla misses a kick to the head of Eve and hits Kaitlyn. Eve tosses out Layla and takes the pin.

Winner: Eve/Aksana

Sheamus is backstage talking to Booker. Booker asks Sheamus to promise to keep a cool head and that Big Show said he’d do the same. Sheamus said he respects Booker but can’t promise him anything. Also backstage, Daniel Bryan is warming up when Kane comes over. Kane tells him that he won his match and that doesn’t make him the weak link. Kane says it’s obvious who the tag team champions is as Bryan’s music hits.

Match #5
Daniel Bryan vs Damien Sandow

Rhodes & Kane are on commentary now. Brawl outside the ring with Bryan in control until Sandow uses his smarts to attack Bryan. Bryan comes back and hits a diving front dropkick off the ropes. Bryan traps Sandow’s arm and wrenches the fingers. Another commercial break.

Bryan is in control for a short period after we return. Sandow takes over after tripping Bryan and stomps him hard in the corner before hitting a russian leg sweep and the elbow of disdain. Sandow with a knee to the back and clubs to the chest before locking in a chinlock. Bryan manages to flip over Sandow and starts the comeback. Bryan with a running dropkick into the corner for a near fall. A bunch of kicks to the chest of Sandow but Damien fights back. Bryan flips him over the ropes out in front of the table. Bryan hits a suicide dive and both go down. Bryan pushes Rhodes into the barricade but creates a distraction and Sandow clotheslines him. Kane goes after Sandow as Rhodes tosses Bryan into the ring post. Neckbreaker from Sandow for the cover and the win.

Winner: Damien Sandow

Time for our main event of the evening, with Big Show and Sheamus going face to face. Big Show says his KO punch is the most lethal move in WWE. Sheamus says that you have to hit someone with the punch for it to work. Big Show says Sheamus is gonna fail to hit the Brogue Kick. We get footage of Big Show catching the kick. Big Show says Sheamus’ foot can’t reach Big Show’s face with the Brogue Kick. Sheamus puts over Big Show’s credentials a bit and calls him a legend and Sheamus says he strives for a challenge. Sheamus says Show is a mountain he’s going to conquer. Show says that Sheamus is scared and he can see it. Sheamus said he’s going to do whatever it takes to take out Big Show. Sheamus says the time for talking is over and the time for fighting is now. Sheamus dives through security and goes at Show. Security tries to keep the two apart, to no avail. Security gets tossed around and Sheamus goes for a Brogue Kick but Show rolls out of the ring. Big Show wags his finger as he goes up the apron. The show ends with Sheamus Brogue Kicking a security guard.
