WWE Smackdown Results – October 5, 2012

We kick off the show with The Big Show making his way to the ring, our #1 contender.

Big Show says that Sheamus and Big Show have never faced each other one on one and hasn’t experienced the WMD punch. Montage of WDB punches and chokeslams from Big Show. Sheamus cuts off Big Show. Sheamus says the match at HIAC is the biggest fight of his life. Sheamus says “may the best man win” and extends his hand. Big Show walks past Sheamus and leaves the ring. Sheamus brings up TLC last year when Bryan cashed in and beat Big Show for the WHC. Sheamus then shows himself beating Bryan in 18 seconds. Big Show gets back in the ring and extends his hand to Sheamus. Sheamus fakes a handshake and walks by.

Match #1 – Tag Tournament Match
Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs Prime Time Players

Truth and DY start off and Truth takes control with a leg drop. Young gets Truth in the corner and tags in O’Neil but Truth tries to fight back before TO takes over. O’Neil chokes Truth on the ropes. Young comes back in and O’Neil suplexes him onto Truth. Truth starts to fight back after some control from Young. Big tag to Kingston who hits an axe handle smash and a series of chops and dropkicks to Young. Boom Drop leg drop to Young. Kofi sets up for the Trouble In Paradise but O’Neil gets on the apron. Truth fights him off but in the ring Young dodges the TOP and Titus trips Kofi. Young hits his finisher and PTP gets the win!

Winners: Prime Time Players

We return to Primo accompanied by Epico and Rosa Mendes.

Match #2
Ryback vs Primo

Ryback throws around Primo. Big boot. Ryback tosses Primo’s head against the mat. Ryback goes for a powerslam but Primo hits a chop block and dropkicks Ryback. Primo gets him in the headlock but Ryback lifts him up and tosses him forward. Clothesline from Ryback. Huge irish whip into the corner and Primo rolls out of the ring. Primo and Epico go to retreat but Ryback takes out Epico and then military presses Primo thru the 2nd rope. Another huge clothesline from Ryback. Shell Shocked from Ryback for the win.

Winner: Ryback

Match #3
Layla vs Alicia Fox

Roll up by Layla followed by an arm drag. Alicia with a sunset flip of her own but right into a dropkick to the face and a span from Layla. Arm drag into a very advanced roll up from Layla. Alicia takes control with a chop block and works over Layla’s leg. Alicia slams Layla’s leg onto the ground and spanks her right back. Layla fights back but Alicia hits a northern lights suplex. Alicia with a leg lock while pulling the hair and using the ropes. Layla with a dropkick to the knee and a crossbody out of the corner. Layla with the kick to the head for the victory.

Winner: Layla

Punk & Heyman runs into Ziggler and Vickie backstage. Punk is mad that Ziggler left him on Raw. Booker T gets in between all of it and announces a main event of CM Punk vs Dolph Ziggler in the main event.

Match #4
Wade Barrett vs Local

Barrett absolutely wrecks this local guy. Pumphandle drop followed by Barrett stepping on this guys’ head. Local guy starts fighting back until Barrett shoves him out of the ring on his head. Barrett rakes the face and hits the elbow smash for the victory!

Winner: Wade Barrett

Match #5
Miz vs Sheamus

Sheamus beats down Miz early until Miz manages to get Sheamus out of the ring and knees him to the ground. Miz swings Sheamus’ arm around the pole. Miz with an inverted backbreaker and neckbreaker combo. Miz puts Sheamus into a sleeper hold. Miz with a dropkick to the knee of Sheamus and a snap DDT. Miz pulling out all the stops but only for a count of two. Sheamus makes the big comeback and destroy’s Miz’s chest with clubs over the ropes. As Sheamus sets up to win, Big Show comes down and punches out Miz, getting him the win.

Winner by DQ: The Miz

Sheamus looks pissed as Big Show heads to the back.

David Otunga is in the ring and shows the footage of Orton being attacked by Del Rio last week. Otunga thanks Del Rio for standing up to Orton, Orton’s music then hits but Del Rio & Ricardo come out. Del Rio mocks Orton’s entrance. Del Rio also mocks Randy Orton’s voice on the mic. Booker T comes out and in Teddy Long like fashion, announces Del Rio & Otunga vs Team HELL NO!

Match #6
Team HELL NO vs Del Rio & Otunga

Bryan with kicks to the chest of Otunga and a big clothesline. Bryan with big No Chants as he hits the running dropkick in the corner. Bryan mocks Otunga and tries to put him in the No! Lock until Otunga gets the rope and hits a neckbreaker. Otunga makes the tag to Del Rio. Snap suplex from Del Rio, and into a chinlock. Del Rio goes for the enziguri but Bryan dodges and tags in Kane. Kane with a throat thrust and two clothesline in the corner, topped off with a sidewalk slam. Kane heads to the top. Flying clothesline from Kane. Bryan goes for a tag but Kane says no. Enizguri from Del Rio and covers but Kane kicks out. Otunga takes the liberty to tag himself in and hits a spinebuster but Kane kicks out. Kane catches Del Rio by the throat and hits the chokeslam. Bryan tags himself in and hits a diving headbutt for the victory!

Winners: Team HELL NO!

Eve and Teddy Long argue backstage and Teddy believes that Eve has something to do with Kaitlyn’s attack. Booker gets mad at Teddy for saying Booker is too inexperienced.

Match #7
Big Show vs Tensai

Tensai is throwing everything at Big Show but Show comes back with some brutal chops. Big boot in the corner from Tensai. Big Show tosses Tensai out of the ring. Shoulder block from Show. Show goes for a elbow but misses. Senton from Tensai for just two. Spear from Big Show. Big Show sets up from WMD but Sheamus runs out and Brogue Kicks Tensai, giving him the win.

Winner via DQ: Tensai

Sheamus leaves laughing as Big Show looks frustrated.

Main Event
CM Punk w/Paul Heyman vs Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero

Punk and Ziggler yet at each other in the middle of the ring and shove each other before locking up. Ziggler with a shoulder block, followed by a dropkick and an attempt at a Zig Zag. Punk follows up going for a GTS as we go to commercial.

We return to SD with Punk putting Ziggler in a headscissors. Punk with a back body drop and both men climb to the top rope. Both men strike each other and each take nasty drops to the floor. Ziggler and Punk keep going back and forth. Huge head kick from Punk for a two count. Punk with a shining wizard, followed by a clothesline for a two count. Body slam by Punk as he sets up for the elbow drop. Ziggler gets up and hits Punk on the rope. Dolph tosses Punk off the rope onto the canvas but misses a big splash in the corner and Punk hits the GTS.

Winner: CM Punk

As the show ends, Punk says that he’s heard it from everyone and that he knows what he has to do. Punk says everyone wants to see Punk/Cena in a cell. Punk says he will not step foot into the ring with Cena at Hell In a Cell.

And that ends it for tonight folks!
