Why WWE Is Spoiling Their Own Programming Revealed

In regards to WWE spoiling Tuesday night’s title change, Joey Styles, who works as Vice President of Digital Media Content for WWE.com, replied to a Twitter follower that explained the reason why WWE is now spoiling their own programming. The reason is because they would rather fans find out from them rather than a “wrestling news site.” Here is the Tweet:

The fan on Twitter wrote, “… @WWE and @JoeyStyles spoil SmackDown because they’d rather you get the spoiler from them than a wrestling news site.” Joey Styles replied, “Bingo!”

This is also why we (PWMania.com) remove all spoiler warnings when WWE posts the result. When a spoiler is publicly announced, we no longer treat it as a spoiler.

There has been quite a stir of the last couple weeks as WWE promoted Wade Barrett winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship and Alberto Del Rio winning the World Heavyweight Championship before the matches aired on television. Del Rio’s match against Big Show is set to air on Friday’s episode of Smackdown.
