WWE SummerSlam 2012 – Rock vs. Brock II, Why This Match Should Happen

The Match Of The Decade

Since the return of former multiple time WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, the wrestling world has been turned on its ear, and many wrestling fans have been speculating on what the WWE should do with Lesnar in terms of story-lines and booking.

Lesnar has been off of WWE television the past few weeks due to an angle that involves WWE COO Triple H. Lesnar injured Triple H and then up and left the WWE because he claimed he wasn’t being treated fairly and that the company was reneging on conditions he was entitled to get.

Triple H and Brock Lesnar will most likely meet in the ring at SummerSlam 2012 and it will no doubt be a great match, but if the WWE wants to put, quote “asses in the seats” a rematch between Brock Lesnar and The Rock would be a much better fit.

The Rock and Brock Lesnar first met at SummerSlam 2002 and the prize was the WWE Undisputed Championship, Lesnar was booked to destroy Rock and capture his first World Championship. If the WWE were to book a rematch between these two phenomenal superstars it would be billed as “the rematch of the decade” or “10 years in the making” Rock vs. Brock II at WWE SummerSlam 2012.

A few months ago on WWE RAW The Rock did announce to the WWE Universe that he wanted to be once again the WWE Champion, even though SummerSlam is only a few short months away, the WWE could book a match between The Rock and CM Punk for the WWE Championship. If a rematch were booked between Brock Lesnar and The Rock, Lesnar would no doubt want a shot at Rock’s WWE Title, adding a little extra spice to add to this recipe of a fantastic rematch.

There are a lot of wrestling fans that would much rather see these two superstars lock up at WrestleMania XXIX, but the WWE as a whole would benefit from seeing fans line up to purchase tickets for SummerSlam if the main event was The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.

There is a good indication that The Rock and Brock Lesnar will meet at WrestleMania XXIX next year, and of course that match will have a massive build leading up to the biggest event in professional wrestling. But there would be no harm in having these two legends of the squared circle tangle at the premier professional wrestling event of the summer, WWE SummerSlam 2012.
