WWE To Announce Plans For The WWE Network Next Month?

As PWMania.com reported, WWE’s major announcement at the 2014 International CES, a consumer and electronics trade show, on January 8th in Las Vegas, will most likely be about the debut of The WWE Network. Sources around the company also believe WWE’s announcement will be about the launch of The WWE Network. Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Cena and Steve Austin are all confirmed to appear at the announcement.

Reports have suggested that WWE will do the network similar to the new venture by UFC and will be streamed via the internet as opposed to being carried by traditional carriers. If WWE does in fact decide to do this, they would able to cut out large fees that they would have to pay the cable/satellite companies.

Another plus to streaming their network online would be that WWE would have complete control of the project, as opposed to having to fight with carriers for positioning on their boxes.

I can say that Cox Communications in Las Vegas has notified WWE Classics on Demand subscribers that the channel will cease to exist as of Jan. 31st. So I think the projected launch of the WWE Network in February sounds about right.
