5 Things We Can Expect to Happen in the 2020 Clash of the Champions

The day of reckoning for every title holder in WWE is fast approaching. Every WWE champion will defend their title on September 27th at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. In one of the most anticipated Pay Per View wrestling events, the clash promises a gold rush for the contenders and their fanatics.

What do you foresee going down? Who will walk into the square circle with their nose high but lose their title?

Beyond the winners and losers, here are five stipulations you can expect from the showdown.

1. Randy Orton to Hospitalize Drew McIntyre

Randy Orton took Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Keith Lee out of the title equation. He has the heart, and very few people can rise from an RKO. In his books, Crew McIntyre does not stand a chance.

Did Drew dig his own grave, suggesting an ambulance match for his title clash against Randy Orton? We will know for sure on the 27th. There is a good chance that Randy will walk out with the title, not because he wants it more badly, but because he is that good.

On the other hand, Drew proved himself by thrashing Randy at SummerSlam in their first WWE match. This is on top of the reasons why Randy Orton cannot afford to lose this title opportunity.

2. Roman Reigns Will Successfully Defend His Universal Championship

Not to trash talk the one-half of The Uso brothers, but Jey Uso barely has what it takes to take on Roman Reigns in the ring. However, we know the Usos to be the underdogs with the capacity to pull surprises.

While you should not put your money on Jey walking out the champion, you can expect an incredible match. You can put it in on an online game instead and enjoy amazing casino bonuses.

Roman has to start a new reign in WWE, especially as we head towards Hell in a Cell in October and Survivor Series in November. This match will be a stepping stone to establishing his dominance for more significant clashes.

3. Bayley vs. Nikki Cross Rivalry to Continue With Little Excitement

At this point, Smackdown has shown us more than they should in the Bayley vs. Nikki rivalry. This year alone, the two have been at it more than twenty times. If you have followed their story since 2019, you will know Bayley will retain her title.

The twist in the narrative could be interference by Alexa Bliss, Nikki’s other hater. However, there is a chance that the third time’s a charm, and Nikki upsets the champion to earn her revenge. Whatever the outcome, most fans are quickly getting tired of the Bayley vs. Nikki storyline.

4. Men’s Tag Team Title Unification Match

Survivor Series is quickly approaching. WWE looks to unify the men’s tag time titles across brands as it did with the women’s title. A unification match has been long overdue – since last year.

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura showing up on Raw to take on Street profits in a tag team match was a clear sign of a unification match. Besides, everyone was quickly getting tired of the Street Profits vs. Viking Raiders matches all the time. A fresh tag team clash will surely invigorate the title and inject life into men’s WWE tag team wrestling.

5. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler to Retain Women’s Tag Team Title

Nia Jax and Shayna Basler will defend their titles against Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan. While the former team has a problem getting on the same page, they cannot afford to slip up in their Clash of Champions title match.

The match should be interesting, especially since the contenders have had little to show over the past year.

Conclusion

Every title must be defended at the Clash of Champions, which makes the PPV event quite interesting. The event will be interesting, and many opine that it will be a perfect set up for more extraordinary clashes for Hell in a Cell and Survivor Series.
