AEW Dynamite returns live tonight at 8/7c on TBS and HBO Max from Boston, MA.
The show kicks off live inside the arena in Boston, where Excalibur welcomes us to the show before quickly sending us into a recap video package looking at highlights from last week’s Beach Break special. Back live, Excalibur runs down the advertised lineup for tonight.
AEW World Tag-Team Championship
Cage & Cope (c) vs. Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta
He mentions the tag-team titles are up first, and then we shoot to an ‘earlier today’ digital exclusive, where we see Jon Moxley training Will Ospreay. He sends Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta off for their title opportunity. Mox then gives Ospreay a speech while the two are alone.
Mox tells Ospreay this is what he’s been waiting for his whole life. The world title. If you have a shot, you take the shot, regardless of who the target is. He walks off. Inside the arena, Cope’s theme hits and out he comes, followed by Cage, for their tag-team title defense.
Renee Paquette does her Megan Olivi in UFC role, giving some insight into the match at ringside as Cage finishes up his ring walk. Now the theme for The Death Riders hits and out through the crowd comes Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. They meet up with Claudio Castagnoli for their circling huddle, and head to the ring.
As The Death Riders come to the ring, we see the pre-show digital exclusive where Cope and Cage address Yuta and Garcia regarding this opening tag-team title tilt. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one. Cope and Yuta kick things off for their respective teams at the onset.
Cope starts off strong, stuffing a takedown attempt and slapping on a stiff side-headlock. After a couple of additional minutes of control on offense, The Death Riders begin to take over as the action spills out to the floor and some double-team action changes the momentum.
On that note, the show shifts gears and heads into a mid-match commercial break as the championship action continues. When the show returns, we see the action still in progress, with things starting to pick up. Cope with a body slam onto Garcia.
Yuta and Cage are tagged in. Cage right hands. He climbs the top rope and lands a headbutt. He goes for the cover but Yuta kicks out. Cope and Garcia get in the ring but Cope with a clothesline and both men to the outside of the ring.
Garcia with a German suplex on Cage. He goes for the cover but Cage kicks out. Yuta gets in the ring and he distracts the referee. Cage with a low blow onto Garcia and in comes Cope. He hits Garcia with a spear. Cope goes for the cover and gets the pin to retain the titles.

After The Match
After the match, the Young Bucks are shown clapping in the stands as Cope acknowledges them. Then, the Dogs and Claudio Castagnolo hit the ring and beat down Cage and Cope. The Bang Bang Gang hits the ring to make the save as an all-out brawl breaks out.
David Finlay grabs his shillelagh, but Jay White takes it from him and gets him out of the ring. Cage gets in White’s face, but Cope gets in between them and White gives the shillelagh to him. Cope slaps hands with the BBG and then leaves with Cage.
Title Match Announced For AEW Collision
Footage of Hikaru Shida retaining the AEW TBS Championship against Harley Cameron this past Saturday on Collision airs, followed by Queen Aminata saving Cameron after a post-match beat down. Shida vs. Aminata for the title is made official for this Saturday’s Collision.
Andrade Has Dynamite Diamond Ring
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Andrade. Andrade says he will fight every member of the Don Callis Family and take all of their titles if he has to, because his destiny is to become the AEW World Championship. Andrade says he is not worried about the numbers game.
He says he’s not worried because he has something. He pulls out MJF’s Dynamite diamond ring and says that he got it from a friend. Renee asks him if he got it from Will Ospreay. Andrade responds, asking “How you know?” before walking away.
Renee Paquette Interviews The Conglomeration
Now we see Renee Paquette with The Conglomeration. She says the AEW World Trios titles are firmly with them, but there are plenty of other teams who want them. Roderick Strong asks where they are at, and then the Demand walk up. Ricochet says if they wanted to fight them, they’d already be on the ground.
Kyle O’Reilly steps and and is about to make a challenge, but the Lethal Twist attack them from behind. Ricochet says he told them no one in the Demand would lay a finger on the Conglomeration, but those guys aren’t in the Demand. At least not yet.
Andrade El Idolo vs. Jake Doyle
Footage of Mark Davis retaining the AEW National Championship against Mike Bailey on Collision airs. Then a video package airs for Andrade El Idolo. We then head back to the ring, where Andrade will go one-on-one against Jake Doyle in a match where if he wins, he earns a shot at the AEW National title held by Mark Davis.
The entrances take place and then the bell sounds to get things started. Doyle immediately sends Andrade to the floor with a shoulder tackle, and then delivers a few body shots before getting him back into the ring. Doyle smashes Andrade in the corners and follows with a right hand.
Doyle drives his shoulder into Andrade a few times and follows with another more corner splashes. Doyle sends Andrade across and charges, but Andrade kicks him in the face and takes him down. Andrade delivers another kick that sends Doyle to the floor.
He then takes him down with a hurricanrana before flirting with a woman at ringside. Andrade delivers an elbow strike and gets Doyle back into the ring. Andrade goes up top, but Doyle cuts him off. Andrade comes back with chops.
Andrade runs the ropes, but Doyle takes him to the outside with a hand around his throat. Doyle delivers a chokeslam on the apron as the show heads to a commercial break as the action continues. The show returns to the match still ongoing a few minutes later.
Andrade gains the advantage with elbow strikes and follows with chops. Doyle runs over him with shoulder tackles, but Andrade delivers an enzuigiri. Andrade delivers a clothesline and follows with a flying forearm. Andrade goes for double knees in the corner, but Doyle cuts him off with a body block.
Doyle charges into the corner, but Andrade sends him face-first into the turnbuckle. Andrade drops Doyle with a moonsault on the outside and gets him back into the ring. Andrade goes for a DDT over the top rope, but Doyle catches him and delivers a Liger Bomb for a two count.
Doyle picks Andrade up, but Andrade counters with the Three Amigos for a two count. Andrade delivers double knees in the corner and goes for the cover, but Doyle kicks out at two. Andrade comes off the top, but Doyle counters with an elbow strike.
Doyle immediately delivers another and goes for the cover, but Andrade kicks out at two. Doyle sends Andrade off the ropes, but Andrade counters into a crucifix for a two count. Andrade follows with a back elbow and delivers the DM for the pin fall and the victory.
Winner: Andrade El Idolo
After The Match
Once the match wraps up, it is announced that Andrade will receive his AEW National Championship match at Redemption. Mark Davis comes to the stage and heads toward the ring, but Andrade puts on the Dynamite diamond ring. Davis stops short, holds the title in the air, and they stare each other down.
Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship Celebration
Footage airs showing Kenny Omega’s world title victory over MJF on last week’s Beach Break special. We head to a commercial break, with Omega’s world title celebration waiting on the other side. When the show returns, Tony Schiavone is in the ring. There’s a red carpet in the ring.
Schiavone introduces the new AEW World Champion Kenny Omega to the ring. Omega’s music hits and out he comes. As he is about to speak, out come the Young Bucks and they are carrying something in a gold bag. They tell Omega that they have been best friends in this business for nearly 20 years.
They tell him that last week they saw him do it all by himself. They tell him that they are proud of him and he proved that he is still the best professional wrestler on the planet. But him wearing that particular belt peeves them and they brought him something.
They take out the AEW title belt and Omega takes out the BBB title belt. Omega says unbelievable, it has been 1100 some days. It has been so long that he wasn’t even sure if he would be able to hold the title ever again. He says the difference maker was that his friends, his family and the fans believing in him.
He says if it wasn’t for them believing in him, he would have given up on himself a long time ago. He says there is less than 50 days remaining until Wembley stadium. And as much as he would like to say that he is ready, there is still a lot of work to do. He says in 50 days, they will see the best version of Kenny Omega.
With that said, out comes Will Ospreay to the ring. He asks the Young Bucks if he can have a one on one conversation with Omega. The Young Bucks leave the ring. Ospreay asks the fans if he can speak on their behalf. He says it is really good to see Kenny Omega as the AEW World Champion again.
He says at one point, he thought Omega had given up on himself. He says Omega needed to believe in him, he needed to believe that he can still be Kenny Omega. He says Omega never gave up and he saw him get hit with the belt. Ospreay says he thought Omega was going to lose but Omega kicked out.
He says Omega is back, one of the greatest to ever do it is back. He says for 10 years, Omega was his hero, he got to watch him wrestle, he has inspired him to be the best wrestler he can ever be. He says and he has Kenny Omega to thank for that.
Ospreay tells him that he is not happy with being second but they are going to keep it going, every week, they will be out there showing everyone why they are in the position that they are in. He says this is a dream come true. They are about to shake hands but out comes Kevin Knight.
He tells Ospreay that he and Omega have to talk about something, champion to champion. Omega says Ospreay can stay. Knight tells Omega congratulations but the jet still has a world title shot courtesy of Maxwell Jacob Fraudman. He says the jet is ready to become jet two belts.
He challenges Omega to a match at Redemption for the AEW World title. Omega tells Knight that MJF made a promise to Knight. He asks him why he would give him a title match if it was MJF that promised one. He says they are not going to do that but maybe he will give him a shot because he is a nice guy.
Because the first day he saw Knight, he saw something special, he saw someone that had it, that undeniable factor that only a superstar possesses, someone that looks the part, someone faster than anyone else, someone that can jump higher than anyone else and someone that was hungry.
But that’s where it ended because he went and aligned himself with Don Callis. He says he would be a hypocrite if he told everyone that he didn’t believe in him too. He says it was because of Don Callis that he held the title for the first time. He says it was during Corona when they were all told to stay indoors.
And when no one showed up to the party, he thought it was because no one could but the reality is no one believe in that guy, no one was proud of that guy. He says that was the day where his worth, his self worth fell right down the toilet. He tells Knight that he does not need a guy like Don.
He tells Knight that when he says he believes in him, he is saying the same words that Speedball believes, the same things that Will Ospreay believes and when he says he doesn’t have to be Don’s lap dog. He says he can be the champion without Callis. He says one thing that MJF was not was a fraud.
He says the only fraud he is looking at is Knight because he knows that Knight knows he is not being himself. He says if it will be them at Redemption, he wants it to be the Jet at Redemption, not Don’s little bitch. Knight says that Omega made a good point.
Knight says the good point he made was when he said that he came all the way by himself. He says there is no goodness in his heart, only greatness. He hits Omega with the microphone. Ospreay goes for the hidden blade but Knight leaves the ring. Darby Allin runs and hits Knight. Brian Cage takes Allin down.
Most of the rest of the Callis Family come to ringside, but then Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley hit the ring to back them down. The long, celebration turned chaotic segment appears to finally wrap up on that note, and the show moves on.
Jack Perry – Chapter 2
Jack Perry says he put pen to paper to start chapter two of his time in AEW. Perry says he was always on the verge of breaking through to the next level, and that is what chapter two is all about. Perry says he wants a match on Collision this Saturday, and he wants to give an opportunity to someone who is where he was in chapter one.
Brody King & Bandido vs. Aaron Solo & Nick Comoroto
Back to the ring we go for a nothing-happening tag-team match. Time-killer stuff. Bandido and Solo start the match, but Solo tags out to Comoroto. King wants to tag in, but Bandido says he can handle it. Bandido delivers a few body shots, but Comoroto lifts him up. Bandido gets free and drops Comoroto with a press slam.
King tags in, and then Bandido splashes onto Comoroto from King’s shoulder. King connects with a senton and goes for the cover, but Solo breaks it up. King and Bandido double-team Solo for a bit, and then King slams Comoroto onto Solo. Bandido connects with a frog splash to both of them for the victory.

Renee Paquette Interviews Kyle Fletcher
Renee Paquette is backstage for an interview with Kyle Fletcher, who is with Don Callis. Fletcher says he is ready for Komander, but then King and Bandido walk through the shot. Bandido puts one of his ‘Wanted’ posted on Fletcher’s chest before they walk away.

From there, we head back inside the arena and return to ringside for our next match of the evening, which will feature Fletcher putting his AEW International Championship on-the-line against Komander.
