In Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT, which followed the NXT Heatwave event, NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced that both the WWE Women’s Speed Championship and the WWE Men’s Speed Championship would be retired.
This announcement took place during a backstage segment where Stone informed ZARIA that she needed to choose between defending the NXT Women’s North American Championship or the Women’s Speed Championship after having unified them at NXT Heatwave. ZARIA opted to defend the NXT North American Championship, relinquishing the Women’s Speed Championship back to Stone.
Additionally, Stone spoke with Lexis King, the current and now final Men’s Speed Champion, informing him that, following the retirement of the WWE Women’s Speed Title, the Men’s Speed Title would also be discontinued.
The Speed Championships were originally introduced as part of WWE Speed, a show that aired on Twitter (X) from April 2024 until July 2025. After the show concluded, the titles were transferred to NXT.
