Brandon Thurston from WrestleNomics reports that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been granted an extension to serve TNA World Tag Team Champion Ryan Nemeth in their ongoing legal dispute. AEW believes that Nemeth is intentionally avoiding being served. The magistrate overseeing the case has extended the deadline for AEW to serve Nemeth until December 2nd.
Furthermore, the court has warned Nemeth that if he continues to evade being served, he could be held responsible for the expenses incurred by AEW and the court in the process.
Here is the judge’s order:
“In the event the defendant [Nemeth] and his counsel are monitoring the docket, they are reminded of this rule: ‘If a defendant located within the United States fails, without good cause, to sign and return a waiver requested by a plaintiff within the United States, the court must impose on the defendant: (A) the expenses incurred in making service; and (B) the reasonable expenses, including attorney’s fees, of any motion to collect those service expenses.”
Nemeth has been involved in a legal dispute with AEW since February 2025, when he filed a lawsuit against the company, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan, and Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk. The lawsuit alleges assault, breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and intentional interference with prospective advantage. In April of that year, Nemeth agreed to AEW’s request to move the case into arbitration.
In June, AEW filed a petition accusing Nemeth of misrepresenting facts and misleading them by failing to voluntarily dismiss his lawsuit and instead entering arbitration in bad faith. AEW seeks to compel Nemeth to arbitrate the dispute at the nearest JAMS administrative office in Duval County, Florida, and to have the case adjudicated under Florida law.
