AEW Rampage Results – May 20, 2022

It is Friday and AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite Wednesday from the Fertitta Center in Houston TX. Our Commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Chris Jericho.

House of Black vs Fuego Del Sol and the Dark Order (Evil Uno and Number 10)

Uno starts off with Brody King, and after Uno gets a few chops, Brody stalks him. Uno gets grabbed by King and dragged to King’s Corner when Malachi Black gets in a series of kicks. Uno is able to fight back and get to his corner to tag in 10. 10 is able to get a belly to belly suplex on Black. Black fights out of 10’s corner and then locks on a heel hook.

10 is able to break free and Fuego tags himself in and gets an underarm spin. Black is able to drop Fuego, and Buddy Matthews tags in and hits an arm snap on Fuego after throwing Penta’s hand signal. Fuego is able to escape and tags in Uno who gets attacked by the entire House of Black. Brody lifts Uno up for a back breaker, and Uno escapes and tags in Fuego. King runs into Fuego and knocks him off the apron to the floor as we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Fuego gets a Spanish Fly on Matthews and it’s time to see if both men can get to their feet and tag in someone to save them. Black and 10 are both tagged in and 10 cleans house. The sequences ends with Black attempting a casadora, and 10 stopping him, spinning to the ropes where Uno hits a guillotine and Black bounces off, still held by 10, who then covers for a two count.

10 tries for a full nelson, but Black gets an arm toss. 10 goes for a choke slam and when Matthews comes in to break it up, 10 grabs him as well. Matthews is pushed out of the ring, but Black is able to bring 10 down and locks in a knee bar. Uno is able to break up and then gets tossed out of the ring. 10 hits a discus lariat and he and Black tag out to King and Uno. Uno gets a series of kicks off the ropes and then goes for a power bomb, but King reverses it. Fuego come in and is tossed into Matthews who hits a DDT on the ramp.

Uno charges at King, and King hits the clothesline and then hits a gonzo bomb for the cover and the three count.

Winner: House of Black

Death Triangle comes from the back and they have a tombstone on the stage covered by a black cloth. Penta pulls off the cloth and the tombstone says “House of Black” and has the Double or Nothing poker chip on it. There’s our match for the Pay Per View.

Lexi interviews Billy Gunn, Max Caster and The rest of the Gunn Kids. They noted Anthony Bowens was injured. Billy said they all go through adversity and when Bowens return, they will all celebrate.

Tony Schiavone interviews FTR. They will face Roppongi Vice on Wednesday on Dynamite.

Shawn Spears vs Big Damo

Damo was hand picked by MJF to have Spears face a giant. He is the former Killian Dane in WWE NXT.

Spears gets out of the ring when Damo charges, and when Damo follows him, Spears goes back to the ring to kick at Damo. Damo is able to hit a cross body on Spears on the floor. Spears is tossed back in the ring and Spears leaps into a body slam and a cannonball senton from Damo. Spears escapes a Vader bomb and then hits a knee. He yells Wardlow and hits a C4 on Damo for the three count.

Winner: Shawn Spears

Spears grabs a mic and says he is Wardlow’s kryptonite and goes over how he left Wardlow laying on Dynamite. He then says that he’s not locked in the cage with Wardlow, Wardlow is locked in the cage with him.

Nods to Watchmen, there.

Undisputed Elite are backstage. The Bucks have challenged Matt and Jeff Hardy to a Double or Nothing PPV bout. Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly believe they’ll be facing off in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Ruby Soho joins commentary.

Red Velvet vs. Kris Statlander in an Owen Hart Tournament Match

Jade Cargill and Kiera Hogan come out with Red Velvet.

They lock up and go to the corner, and when they break, Red slaps and kicks Statlander, and Statlander gorilla presses Red with ONE ARM before tossing her. Red goes for a flying scissors, and Statlander stops the spin and then tosses Red to the floor. When Statlander follows her to the floor, Red wraps her in the ring skirt and attack. She then goes to the ring and tries to leap on Statlander, who catches her and slams her on the apron.

Red gets in a few punches and when she tries for a leaping kick, Statlander catches her. Red floats over and attacks Statlander’s leg as they go to picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Red is still working the leg, but Statlander gets up and hits a back breaker on Red. She then hits a pair of lariats and a power slam on Red. Statlander hits the corner attacks, and then a casadora to a German suplex for a two count. Statlander hits the delayed vertical suplex, but Red escapes with knee strikes. Red then hits a chop block and hits the final slice for a two count. Red hits elbow strikes as she yells at Statlander, but Statlander hits a blue thunder bomb for a two count.

Red is able to hit a double knee strike, then a casadora to a front face slam and a two count. Statlander catches Red’s kick and then hits a clothesline. She tries for the Friday Night Fever, but Red slides down for a roll up. Statlander reverses it and scores the three count.

Winner: Kris Statlander

Kiera Hogan hits the ring and they attack Statlander. Ruby Soho runs down for the save and Jade Cargill comes in aqnd then drops Soho. Anna Jay runs down, grabs Mark Sterling’s crutch and runs off The Baddies.

Red Velvet’s best match ever. They really had a great match here.

Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page and Dan Lambert come to the ring. Page says that bad things happen when they cross paths with the Men of the year. They then run down Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti and Scorpio says to bring out his belt. In the back, Sammy says if they want the belt, they will give them their match. Dan says no, and Sammy takes a sledge hammer to the belt. Frankie Kazarian joins them and attacks the belt. Looks like will get a Trios match at the PPV.

We then get a video package of how Hook and Danhausen have become friends. SEND FOR HOOKHAUSEN!

Toni Storm and Britt Baker with Tony Schiavone. They each asked the other if they could handle the pressure of the big match against the other. Storm offered to break her teeth.

Mark Henry interviews Matt Sydal and Dante Martin as well as Bryan Danielson about their match. Matt says it’s all about peace, love, and pro wrestling. Danielson says he likes violence in his pro wrestling. Mox shows and says they are teachers, and they teach with pain and torture.

Tony Schiavone interviewed Jade Cargill. She wants Anna Jay at Double or Nothing.

Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson vs. Matt Sydal and Dante Martin

William Regal joins commentary. Jake Hager stands behind Jericho to protect him from Regal.

Mox and Danielson attack as soon as the bell ring and it quickly become Mox beating Dante down in the ring. Mox locks Dante’s leg and then tags in Danielson who locks in the surfboard. He then fires elbows in a trapped Dante.

Mox is tagged in. Mox peppers him with body shots. Mox misses a charge into the corner and Matt tags in and gets in kicks and a take down for a pair of two counts. Mox and Matt trade chops. Mox then drops Matt across the top rope. Bryan gets tagged in and as Matt is on the floor, Bryan comes off the apron with a meteora and we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Matt is in Mox’s corner and he fights his way free, and goes for kicks at Mox. Mox hits slaps and Matt nails Mox with a kicik to the head. Both men tag and Dante gets his high flying offense on Bryan. Dante gets a cross body on Bryan for a two count, broken up by Mox. Mox and Matt fight to the floor.

Danielson and Dante go to the top, and Danielson is able to get the double underhook suplex from the top and then locks in the Labell lock. Dante is able to gets NEAR the rope, and Bryan locks both arms, forcing Dante to get a foot on the ropes. Bryan hits a series of roundhouse kicks in Dante’s chest. Mox is tagged in. Matt comes in and cuts off Bryan for an attack, and then Matt and dante his a series of kicks on Mox.

Matt goes to the top and hits a meteora on Bryan on the apron. Dante hits the nose dive on Mox and covers for two, broken up by Bryan. Matt pulls Bryan to the outside. Dante escapes a paradigm shift, and goes for a Poisonrana, which Mox blocks and tries for the sleeper. Dante is able to use the ropes to reverse it and make it a pin for a two count.

Dante goes to the top and misses a drop kick, Mox hits a pile driver for a two count. Mox hits the hammer and anvil elbows as Bryan locks Matt in a sleeper hold. Mox hits the paradigm shift and covers Dante for the three count.

Mox bows to Dante and Matt and we’re out of time!
