AEW Friday Night Rampage Review – February 10, 2023

Trios Match
Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Butcher,The Blade & Kip Sabian

Wheeler Yuta & Kip Sabian lock up to start this match off then Sabian delivers a boot to Yuta’s midsection before Yuta tags in Claudio Castagnoli. Castagnoli sends Sabian crashing into the mat. The Butcher tags in and he tries to deliver a shoulder tackle. Castagnoli doesn’t go down though and they back & forth trying to send one another to the mat.

Jon Moxley tags in and delivers a series of kicks then tags Yuta back in. The Butcher delivers a back body drop and a diving crossbody then tags in Sabian. Sabian delivers a boot to Yuta’s midsection then hits a Stunner and a senton. The Blade tags in and delivers a series of stomps.

Sabian tags in and whips Yuta into the corner but Yuta fires back with a dropkick. Moxley tags in and delivers a series of forearms and chops. He bites Sabian then hits a pair of suplexes and rains down Hammer & Anvil elbow strikes before Sabian delivers a knee.

After the break Sabian looks for a hurricanrana but Moxley reverses it into a powerbomb. Butcher tags in and Moxley catches him with a haymaker lariat. The Blade & Castagnoli tag in. Castagnoli delivers a series of uppercuts but Penelope Ford distracts Castagnoli allowing The Blade to take advantage and beat Castagnoli down.

Castagnoli fires back with a series of uppercuts, then sets up for The Swing. Sabian jumps Castagnoli to save Blade, but Castagnoli manages to hit him with The Swing. The Blade rolls up Castagnoli but Castagnoli kicks out. He transitions into the Sharpshooter but The Butcher breaks the hold before Moxley takes him out.

Castagnoli delivers a knee to Blade, then hits a Death Valley Driver. He goes for a pin but Sabian breaks the fall. Sabian looks for a springboard but Moxley catches him with a cutter. Castagnoli then delivers a vicious uppercut to Blade for the win.

Winners: Blackpool Combat Club

We then head to a video from Darby Allin & Sting. Allin says he will keep his word and not challenge Samoa Joe for the TNT Title then says he will repay Ortiz for helping him out with House Of Black when the time comes.

Back from the break we head to a video from Ricky Starks. Starks says he isn’t done with the Jericho Appreciation Society then challenges Daniel Garcia to a match for next week’s Rampage.

Justin Roberts introduces the Impractical Jokers. Q & Murr come out to the ring with Jericho’s bat that they stole on Wednesday then taunt him for having a small bat. Jericho expresses his displeasure with their jokes, and The Jokers say they were playing with him and tell him he can have his bat back. Jericho Appreciation Society then comes to ringside and surrounds The Jokers. Jericho Appreciation Society launches an attack and grabs a table from the bat. Matt Menard chokes with the bat as Jake Hager sets Murr up on the table. Hager then powerbombs Murr onto Q.

We head backstage to Lexy Nair is with Dustin Rhodes. Nair asks Rhodes how Swerve Strickland’s words have impacted him, and Rhodes says he can talk about him all he wants, but when he brought his family into it, things became personal. Rhodes tells Strickland he isn’t afraid of him, then says he won’t tarnish the Rhodes name. He puts Strickland on notice then tells him he is coming for his blood and soul.

Parker Boudreaux & Trench then appear and launch an attack on Rhodes. Boudreaux sends Rhodes onto a wooden crate and some other equipment. Strickland appears and challenges him to a match next week.

Ruby Soho vs. Marina Shafir

Match starts off with a lock up then Marina Shafir trips Ruby Soho before they go back & forth with submission holds. Soho gains the upper hand and delivers a shoulder to Shafir’s midsection then lands a right hand and a running knee that send us to a break.

After the break Soho delivers a suplex then she ascends to the top and looks for the diving foot stomp but Shafir moves out of the way. Soho looks for No Future but Shafir blocks it. Shafir delivers a headbutt but Soho fires back with several of her own. She follows it up with a kick and Destination Unknown for the win.

Winner: Ruby Soho

After the match Saraya & Toni Storm head to the ring. Saraya congratulates Soho on her win then says they are there to have a friendly chat then out of nowhere Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter blindside Saraya & Storm with an attack as a conflicted Soho watches on.

We head backstage to Lexy Nair is with Mark Briscoe. Nair says Briscoe will be in action next week against Josh Woods, then asks him how he’s feeling. Briscoe says he’s feeling good because he gets to represent the baddest tag team in the history of the planet. Smart Mark Sterling walks in and offers to represent Briscoe but Briscoe declines the offer and says he will be flying solo. Sterling says he thought Briscoe wanted to make money but perhaps he just wants to remain a stupid chicken farmer. Briscoe lays his hands on Sterling but Josh Woods walks in and puts him on notice.

Jungle Boy vs. Ryan Nemeth

Jungle Boy wastes no time then he dropkicks Ryan Nemeth to the outside then delivers a tope suicida and tosses him back in the ring. Jungle Boy ascends to the top and delivers a crossbody but Nemeth rolls through.

Jungle Boy kicks out and Nemeth delivers a DDT. Jungle Boy delivers a thrust kick then delivers a modified sliced bread and an elbow to the back of Nemeth’s head for the win.

Winner: Jungle Boy

After the match Brian Cage & Prince Nana head to the ring and stare down Jungle Boy.

All Atlantic Title Match
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Lee Moriarty 

Match starts off with a lock up then Lee Moriarty steals Orange Cassidy’s sunglasses and puts them on but Cassidy takes them back. They go back & forth with submission holds before Moriarty looks for the double stomps. Cassidy rolls out of the way before delivering his signature kicks and a dropkick. He sends Moriarty’s head bouncing off the top rope then climbs up and goes flying. Moriarty rolls out of the way and delivers a kick. They land on the apron and Moriarty sends Cassidy’s arm bouncing off it.

After the break Moriarty & Cassidy teeter on the top rope. Cassidy pushes Moriarty off, then delivers an elbow and follows it up with a Michinoku Driver. Moriarty delivers an arm drag but Cassidy hits the Stundog Millionaire.

They spill to the outside before Cassidy delivers a DDT through the middle rope. He gets Moriarty back in the ring then looks for the Orange Punch. Moriarty has it scouted and ducks it but Cassidy manages to deliver Beach Break. He goes for a pin but Moriarty kicks out.

Cassidy then delivers Orange Punch and looks to pin Moriarty but Moriarty locks in the Border City Stretch. Cassidy escapes and Moriarty looks to lock it in for a 2nd time. Cassidy manages to reverse the submission attempt into a roll up for the win.

Winner & Still All Atlantic Champion: Orange Cassidy (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)

After the match Satnam Singh heads to the ring and stares down Cassidy. Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett approach Danhausen & Cassidy from behind and launch a surprise attack on them. Jarrett holds off Danhausen while Lethal hits Cassidy with Paul Walter Hauser’s Golden Globe. Lethal then hits Danhausen with it as Best Friends run down to try and help out. Lethal, Jarrett & Singh overpower them and Lethal hits both of them with the Golden Globe. Singh traps Cassidy as Jarrett looks to break his guitar across his head but The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn run down with chairs in hand to make the save to close out this week’s Rampage.
