“Daddy Magic” Matt Menard has joined a number of other AEW stars on the sidelines due to injuries.
The Blood & Guts bout between the Blackpool Combat Club and Jericho Appreciate Society took place on the June 29th episode of Dynamite. Menard submitted to Claudi Castagnoli on top of the cage to finish the match.
In a video posted by JOFO In The Ring, the AEW star admitted that the match caused him torn ligaments in his shoulder, labrum, and rotator cuff. He did provide some positive news, though, in that he will be able to heal his wounds without surgery. Although he has sustained injuries, he has continued to appear on AEW TV. It is unknown when he will return to the ring.
As PWMania.com previously reported, Santana was injured in the fight, and it’s expected that he won’t be able to perform for the remainder of the year.
