AEW World Trios Champion Austin Creed recently appeared on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, where he discussed several topics, including his emotional reaction while rewatching his entrance at All In: London.
Creed admitted that he hadn’t initially realized he was introduced as “Awesome” Austin Creed, his original in-ring name. It wasn’t until he went back and watched the footage that he became aware of it.
Creed said, “Kofi, I haven’t talked to you about this, but there weren’t tears in my eyes during the entrance, but when I went back and watched it the next morning. I couldn’t hear while we were out there. It was too hype. We were too on, but they actually announced me as ‘Awesome’ Austin Creed, and that’s my original wrestling name. And so to hear that in that arena. Bro, I was talking about it yesterday. I watched it again, and it was my old tag team partner who’s actually married to Lilian Garcia. I texted him or he texted me, and he was like, ‘Man, that’s pretty cool!’ I lost it again.’ It’s just one of those things where that moment has so much attached to it, and the biggest one being that every single time we have believed in ourselves, every single time that we have bet on ourselves, it’s worked out. We’ve made the right choices throughout wrestling.”
