Backstage News On Andrade Signing With AEW

As PWMania.com previously reported, former WWE star Andrade made his debut with AEW on the June 4th edition of Friday Night Dynamite.

According to Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com, Andrade met with AEW President Tony Khan the week of his release from WWE since Andrade didn’t have the standard 90 day non-compete clause.

However, no deal was made initially with Giri noting the following…

“Negotiations stalled because of Andrade’s demands, which included wanting creative control and veto power on losing. There was a compromise made on that, and he will have a limited amount of creative control on his finishes.”

Andrade reportedly signed his AEW contract this week. Prior to joining AEW, it was said that Andrade had been in talks with Impact Wrestling and he was “pretty close” to at least making a one-off appearance.
