Backstage News On WWE’s Internal Focus Regarding Talent

This year’s WWE Draft altered the talent rosters for RAW, SmackDown, and NXT brands as some wrestlers switched brands while others stayed with the brand they had been with. Additionally, there were developmental talent call-ups to the main roster who had the potential to grow into much bigger stars.

Fans may have noticed that the company has been trying to showcase younger talent on television recently. One example is Dominik Mysterio, who had a breakthrough moment when he turned heel and established himself as a heel while feuding with his father, Rey Mysterio.

After defeating Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 for the SmackDown Women’s Title, Rhea Ripley has also been placed close to the top of the card.

In the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE’s focus is on using younger talent.

Meltzer stated, “There is a big internal focus right now to get younger aged talent on Raw and Smackdown right now.”

With this weekend’s Night of Champions premium live event on Saturday in Saudi Arabia, WWE’s up-and-coming talent will be highlighted.
