WWE fans shouldn’t expect to see Robert Roode return from injury for a while.
Roode joined WWE in 2016 after a lengthy and prosperous career in TNA Wrestling. Prior to joining the main roster and becoming a United States Champion, Raw Tag Team Champion, and SmackDown Tag Team Champion, Roode held the NXT Title during his time in the company.
Since working with Omos at a WWE house show in June of last year, Roode hasn’t worked a match. Roode was working with Dolph Ziggler before his injury.
The veteran wrestler mentioned his injuries on Instagram in September of last year. He published a picture of Birmingham, Alabama’s Southlake Orthopaedics.
In addition to thanking Southlake and Andrew Sports Medicine, Roode posted a picture of himself after surgery. Later it was revealed that Roode’s C5 and C6 vertebrae were fused.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Roode “still expected to be out quite some time.”
