WWE Hall of Famer Booker T spoke with MuscleMan Malcom about various topics, including training WWE star Roxanne Perez and offering her advice in NXT.

Booker T said, “Now, Roxy, she’s been trained properly. [laughs] She really has. I can’t — you know what? At the end of her run at NXT, Roxanne would have her matches and she would always ask me, ‘What’d you see? What did you see?’ And it got to the point to where I couldn’t critique her anymore. And not that she had figured everything out, but she had figured it out to the point to where I knew, even if it was something that she needed to figure out, she would figure it out. She’s like her own teacher now. And the thing is, I see that because I was that way. I got to a point to where I could actually teach myself. Even though I got taught by certain teachers stuff that I didn’t spot. But that’s the foresight. That’s the foresight of a coach.”

On Perez’s adaptability:

“Roxanne Perez, she’s not the biggest dog in the fight. But like Shawn Michaels, she projects so much bigger. She can play — whatever role you give her, she’s going to be able to adapt and play that role. And being adaptable in this business is so important. For her size, you don’t even see it. All you see is, ‘Man, she’s really good.’ And that’s what that’s what young people really need to hone in on. They shouldn’t chase titles or anything like that. They should chase being the best in the locker room. Because if you’re the best in the locker room, all that other stuff, everything else, it just happens for you.”
