Brian Myers recently appeared as a guest on the NotSam Wrestling podcast for an in-depth interview covering all things pro wrestling.
During the discussion, the longtime pro wrestling veteran reflected on helping Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson train for his WrestleMania return against John Cena back in 2012.
“I was on the train to go on a date with now wife and Johnny Axe was calling me and Iโm like, โOh no, this canโt be goodโ because Iโm like jabrone Curt Hawkins doing nothing,” he said. “Heโs like, โHey, hold on, theyโre patching in Joe Henningโ and Iโm going, โWhat on earth could be going on nowโ and then he explained to us that Hunter decided that we would be the best candidates to be his training guys. It was pretty crazy, we were like his Secret agent crash test dummies.”
Myers continued, “The travel agent would just call you at the drop of the hat and be like, โDwayne wants to train tomorrow, heโs in New Orleans, hereโs a 7AM there and a 7PM home.โ Youโd just go and thereโd be a ring set up in a warehouse. On the flip side, The Rock couldnโt have been cooler. [He was] the coolest dude ever. Youโre around somebody and you [realize] why heโs one of the most successful dudes ever on earth because of the way he carries himself and the way he handles his business and stuff. Me and Joe were just complete jabrones and he was so cool to us.”
