Former WWE United States Champion Carlito has officially returned to the independent wrestling circuit after his WWE contract quietly expired earlier this month.
Over the weekend, Carlito made his first post-WWE appearance at an Appalachian Mountain Wrestling event in Kentucky, marking his first independent booking since departing the company. His return has already sparked interest among indie promotions looking to capitalize on his renewed availability.
Carlito re-signed with WWE in 2023 but was used sporadically on television during his most recent run. Now a free agent, he is expected to receive numerous offers from both international and domestic promotions.
