CM Punk To Join Cage Fury Fighting Championships Broadcast Team – Details

Former WWE Champion CM Punk has joined the announce team for Cage Fury Fighting Championships to commentate future events. The news was made official by MMAjunkie on Thursday. He’ll make his broadcasting debut at the CFFC 71 event. This event goes down Dec. 14 at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City and will air live on UFC Fight Pass.

“I can’t wait for this opportunity to call the CFFC fights on UFC Fight Pass,” Punk said in a statement. “CFFC has a long history of putting on exciting fights featuring some of the sport’s up-and-coming athletes. This card is going to be a lot of fun. I’m really excited to have the chance to be a part of it.”

“CM Punk’s knowledge and passion for MMA is incredible. His charisma and personality make him a perfect fit for this role,” CFFC president Rob Haydak said.“By pairing him with Mike Gill, a true sports broadcasting veteran who has been around the fight game his whole career in Atlantic City. We have a great combination for our first show on UFC Fight Pass.”

Punk last fought when he took on Mike Jackson in a welterweight bout at the UFC 225 pay-per-view event on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. As seen in the fight, Jackson dominated it and Punk showed a ton of heart but was winded after the first round. Jackson was able to pick up the unanimous decision win.
