WWE had planned to use Commander Azeez as Cora Jade’s bodyguard, however that is no longer the case.
It was reported in June that WWE would move Azeez and Apollo Crews to NXT, which happened. Crews has featured on NXT television nearly every week as he develops his new character.
Azeez appeared with Jade at the July 23rd house event, where they lost a tag team match to Sanga and Ivy Nyle. Azeez hasn’t been seen on television or live events since.
Fightful Select reports that WWE had no intentions for Azeez at the time. “When we last asked, we weren’t told of any imminent plans for Commander Azeez,” it was noted.
Azeez debuted on the main roster of WWE in 2018 as part of The Greatest Royal Rumble from Saudi Arabia. He assisted Crews in winning the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 37, and the two had been working together until this summer.
