Friday’s WWE SmackDown Continued Its Impressive Hot Streak

There are a number of reasons why WWE’s business has been booming over the past year.

These include Triple H’s new booking direction, the support for Cody Rhodes as a babyface, the continuation of The Bloodline storyline, and the return of The Rock. WWE’s business metrics are up, including television ratings, attendance, and profits.

Last Friday night, WWE held the first night of this year’s Draft with SmackDown from Cincinnati, OH’s Heritage Bank Center, in front of 12,677 fans.

The show featured matches such as LWO (Dragon Lee & Rey Mysterio) (w/Carlito & Zelina Vega) vs. Legado del Fantasma (Angel & Berto), Cedric Alexander vs. Bron Breakker, Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton in a WWE Women’s Title #1 Contendership Match, and WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Carmelo Hayes in a non-title match.

WrestleTix, which tracks ticket sales for all professional wrestling events, reported that this was SmackDown’s tenth consecutive sold-out show.
