Full AJPW Champion Carnival 2023 Night 8 Results (4/30/2023); Shotaro Ashino Wins Block B

The stars of All Japan Pro-Wrestling were at the Edion Arena Osaka 2nd Stadium in Osaka, Japan on April 30th for night 8 of the Champion Carnival 2023 tournament.

This was the final night for Block B action. Suwama, Rei Saito, Shuji Ishikawa and Shotaro Ashino were all tied with 8 pts going into night 8 of the tournament.

Suwama faced Rei Saito in a wild match that saw both wrestlers get counted out which resulted in neither of them gaining any points.

In the main event, Shotaro Ashino defeated Shuji Ishikawa with an Ankle Lock Submission to become the Champion Carnival 2023 Block B winner as he finished with 10 pts overall.

Shotaro Ashino will now head to the Champion Carnival 2023 Finals on May 7th to face the winner of Block A. The winner of Block A will be determined on May 4th.

  • Champion Carnival B Block: Hokuto Omori (6 pts) defeated Yuma Anzai (6 pts) via pinfall
  • Champion Carnival B Block: Manabu Soya (8 pts) defeated Takao Omori (0 pts) via pinfall after hitting a lariat clothesline.
  • Junior Tag Battle Of Glory: Atsuki Aoyagi & Rising Hayato (5 pts) vs. Kotaro Suzuki & Kato Ishida (5 pts) ended in a draw.
  • Junior Tag Battle Of Glory: Naruki Doi & Naoki Tanizaki (4 pts) defeated Hikaru Sato & Dan Tamura (4 pts) via pinfall. Naruki Doi rolled up Dan Tamura for the win.
  • Ryo Inoue & Oji Shiiba vs. Black Menso-re & Bodyguard defeated Ryo Inoue & Oji Shiiba via submission. Bodyguard submitted Ryo Inoue with a variation of the Camel Clutch.
  • Kento Miyahara, Satoshi Kojima, Yuma Aoyagi & Ryuki Honda defeated Cyrus, T-Hawk, Jun Saito & Yoshitatsu via pinfall. Yuma Aoyagi rolled up Jun Saito with a small package for the pin.
