UK WRESTLING MEDIACON EVENTS TO BE STREAMED ON FITE TV

MANCHESTER, U.K. — Select events from Wrestling MediaCon 2018, a unique experience of live wrestling shows, superstar panel Q&As, and a Hall of Fame ceremony, will be streamed live on Sept. 8-9 on FITE TV, the premier combat sports platform, from the BEC Arena in Manchester, England.

Wrestling MediaCon is the most packed wrestling convention in UK history. With live wrestling shows, stage shows, meet and greets, live music and more, it will feel like a festival under one roof starring some of the grappling world’s biggest stars as well as famous names in YouTube, podcasting and print/digital media.

FITE is available as a free mobile app on iOs and Android mobile devices, on the web at www.FITE.tv and on Roku, Apple TV and Android TV boxes. Its programming content features pro wrestling, boxing, MMA and kickboxing.

“Fans across the world have been messaging us constantly to express their frustration about not being able to attend Wrestling MediaCon due to their distance from the UK,” MediaCon promoter Paul Benson said. “With that in mind, we are delighted to be able to offer them access to a huge part of the MediaCon experience wherever they are in the world through this partnership with FITE. It promises to be a weekend filled with fascinating, unique, must-see content and that content deserves the biggest platform possible. We look forward to interacting with our fans all over the world.”

One of the event’s highlights which FITE will carry is the first Wrestling Media Hall of Fame ceremony, at 8 p.m. UK time on Saturday, Sept. 8. Inductees include “Wrestling Observer” editor Dave Meltzer, promoter Martin Goldsmith, who played a huge part of bringing WWE’s Summerslam to Wembley Stadium in 1992, and former NWA world champion Colt Cabana.

The FITE schedule also includes a special live episode of Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast at noon on Sunday as well as a Q&A with Meltzer at 6 p.m. the same day, hosted by “Inside the Ropes” Kenny McIntosh, and the first public appearance post-“All In” of NWA world champ Nick Aldis in the Ten Pounds of Gold panel.

Details of the full Wrestling MediaCon on FITE schedule can be found on the FITE app. The cost of the package is $20 per day or a discounted rate of $30 for a weekend pass. In addition, those that pre-purchase their package up to Thursday 6th September will receive a free digital copy of the UK’s premier wrestling publication, WrestleTalk Magazine, delivered to their inboxes on Friday 7th September.

Look for other interesting panels on Saturday and Sunday, including a live stage show featuring the teams behind two of the world’s biggest wrestling YouTube channels, WrestleTalk and Cultaholic. MediaCon found its way to FITE largely due to Global Force Entertainment CEO Jeff Jarrett, who toured the UK with his first one-man show, the “Ain’t He Great Tour.” One of Jarrett’s shows was streamed on FITE, which has a partnership with GFE.

“I’ve always had a special relationship with fans in the UK, and I’m happy we’re bringing this event to not only a European but a global audience,” Jarrett said.

“Since we announced our partnership with Jeff and Global Force Entertainment he has worked tirelessly to secure the rights to some programming that’s a great fit for us,” FITE COO Michael Weber said. “MediaCon is a natural and we know the fan base in the UK is passionate about professional wrestling.”
