WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett, who is also All Elite Wrestlingโs Director of Business Development, took to an episode of his โMy World with Jeff Jarrettโ podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including if Vince McMahon is the pioneer of PPV Events.
Jarrett said, โNo question. I truly donโt even think thereโs a distant second.โ
WWE moving away from PPV Events and shifting to streaming platforms like Peacock and the WWE Network:
โAnd thatโs the thing WWE outgrew the pay-per-view business. And then itโs not that they said no more because, look, AEW is living, breathing proof that the pay-per-view model is very lucrative. And it is to me the growth, the stage of growth that any company is in. Itโs to me itโs just that simple. The stage of growth. WWE got to a point where they outgrew it in a sense; how can we maximize revenue and also what you just said when youโre publicly traded folks that are going to invest in your company on stocks? They want a guaranteed deal.โ
