KENTA Regains NJPW STRONG Openweight Title At NJPW Resurgence, Eddie Kingston Issues Challenge

NJPW RESURGENCE

KENTA defeated Hikuleo to regain the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship at NJPW Resurgence in Long Beach, California on May 21st.

It was a wild match in which they fought all over the Walter Pyramid Arena including backstage. The match spilled into the crowd as KENTA, who gained the advantage, pushed Hikuleo over a barricade, which was about 10 feet off the ground, and through a table.

KENTA returned to the ring but Hikuleo was unable to beat the 20 count and KENTA was declared the new NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion. KENTA is the first two time NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion.

After his victory, Eddie Kingston appeared on screen to cut a video promo. Kingston indicated he is coming for KENTA and NJPW STRONG Openweight Title once he is fully healed from recent hernia surgery.

KENTA responded to Eddie Kingston’s challenge by stating “Anytime, Anyplace because I’m (expletive) KENTA!”
