Latest News On AEW Shows With Fans, Tony Khan’s Booking Philosophy

– As previously noted, AEW is now allowing a limited amount of fans to buy tickets for upcoming editions of Dynamite starting with the show on Thursday, August 27th. Around 500 tickets will be sold and the number will increase to around 750 if things goes well. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com the feeling is that the number won’t increase much beyond that because it would become too difficult to enforce social distancing.

Meltzer added that the plan at this time is continue taping shows every other week to save on productions costs even though there is a greater risk of spoilers being leaked online.

AEW President Tony Khan reportedly studied how indy promotions Warrior Wrestling and Game Changer Wrestling were producing outdoor shows with social distancing and felt AEW could safely do something similar.

– In regards to Tony Khan’s booking philosophy, Dave Meltzer noted that Khan wants to avoid doing disqualifications and false advertising as much as possible. Khan’s attitude is that while there could be occasional DQs, he wants people who view AEW to believe they will get real finishes with clear winners and losers.

As far as Jon Moxley’s World Title match against Brian Cage being delayed was concerned, Meltzer noted that Khan wanted to “play fair” with the audience and let them know what was really going on “with the hope that plays out better for the company in the long game.”
