Latest News On Ring of Honor Contracts, Video Tape Library, Future Shows, More

Here are some recent news updates on the Ring of Honor wrestling promotion per PWInsider‘s Mike Johnson:

– No wrestlers have been released from their ROH contracts yet. Those who have contracts through 12/31/2021 will be fully paid through 12/31/2021. Any wrestlers with contracts running through 2022 will remain under contract through March/April 2022 and then will receive a release after that.

– All ROH wrestlers have permission to work independent (not AEW, WWE, or Impact) as long as they don’t conflict with the November 2021 tapings or the 12/11/2021 Final Battle Pay Per View.

– Sinclair Broadcasting Group owns the entire Ring of Honor tape library dating back to 2002. Sinclair bought the previous tape library when they purchased Ring of Honor during 2011. As of right now, there has been no conversations about selling the tabe library, nor has there been any interest in selling it. Things could change in the future, but Sinclair is keeping the library for now.

– There is still a hope that Ring of Honor will resume live shows during April 2022. When pressed on if Ring of Honor was closing, ROH officials insisted that shows would resume in April.

– Several GCW talents will be brought into assist with the upcoming Ring of Honor tapings in light of the recent Ring of Honor news.
